strangers in the lake (janique)

There was a nice breeze, it was cool after the heated days of summer went away, and Gillian was enjoying the cool wind sweeping through her hair, and her skirt ruffling.

Usually, she would prefer to have a book and some nice couch, but the day seemed so nice, she had decided to go and take a walk at the lake's shore, but now she found that she was getting kind of bored.

What was it that people found about sitting and just look straight ahead doing nothing?. She was sitting under a tree, overlooking the lake, that was indeed beautiful, but did nothing to entertain her; when she was about to stand up and leave for the library or the common room, Gillian noticed a shadow getting near, and looked up to find a fellow student approaching.

Needing to get away from everybody and just relax, Janique decided to head down towards the Crystal Lake. She wanted to have some time to herself, to do whatever the heck she wanted without having to worry about anyone else. She also needed to plan her next move with Callum, wondering if she should kick things up a notch - and if she did, how.

The breeze was light and caressed her skin gently, something she welcomed after the long, sticky hot days of summer. She had changed into shorts and a baggy t-shirt for maximum comfort. As she neared the lake, she saw that someone had already occupied the space under the tree. Sighing with irritation, she continued past the tree to the bank of the lake, where she sat, hoping the other person wouldn't approach her.

The girl walked past her and sat at the edge of the lake, and if her perception was as good as it it usually was, the girl was really annoyed, Gillian just hoped it wasn't at her, but with her luck, it was probably her, seeing how most people got annoyed with younger people.

Even though Gillian wanted to do something interesting, she knew that without a "partner in crime", as her mother liked to call them, she would definitely accomplish nothing.

Standing up, she looked at the girl close to the lake, who seemed to be angry, and guessed she might as well offer her the spot she was occupying in the shade.

"mmm excuse me!" she called hesitantly to the girl in front of her, "would you like to sit here? that way you won't get sunburned or something". She turned around before the girl could answer and started walking.

(OOC: So super duper sorry for the extremely, impossibly late reply. O.o Exams and stuff, haven't had a lot of muse lately!)

"mmm excuse me!"

With a soft sigh, Janique turned to look at the girl. Her interest level spiked slightly when she saw the other Nightshade there. People from her own house were not too bad, and she was starting to not mind the company. Of course, friendship was a whole other level, but tolerance was something she was considering.

"would you like to sit here? that way you won't get sunburned or something"

She watched her stand up and begin to leave. Not moving, she called after her. "No, that's fine. the sun will go down soon, anyway. What are you doing out at this time?" She was not normally one for small talk, but exceptions did happen, and they normally surprised her. Still, she would follow her gut; they never let her down before when it came to those she could trust, even if just partially.

When the other girl started asking something, Gillian stopped dead on her tracks; She honestly thought the girl would rather be alone, and asking questions was not really the best way to be left alone. She turned her head first, looking to see if she was really talking to her; The other girl was looking at her, so she fully turned around and with the tiniest smile, she scratched the back of her neck and shrugged. "well, it was a really nice day cause the temperature is finally lowering, so I came out to enjoy it for a while" she said while she watched the girl in front of her, adding under her breath "but it got boring so fast".

Lowering her hands and crossing them behind her back, Gillian swayed shifting her weight from one foot to another, and tilted her head wondering if it would be too forward of her to ask the other girl what had her in a bad mood. Deciding that it was not such a bright thing to do, she just tried to keep up the conversation "do you like the sun? do you know if they have some kind of spell against cancer?" she asked the first things that came out of her mind "cause the shade over there under the tree is cooler than the blazing sun" she added with a shrug and a smile.
