As a sixth year student of Hogwarts, Shawn had discovered some interesting things over the years. One of those wonders was the forbidden forest, where he'd discovered a few of the many magical creatures that he loved so much. In his third year, a nice clearing with a small pond was discovered, along with some trees. This was where Shawn had made himself a treehouse, complete with a water slide, a hammock that was located outside one of the windows with sturdy boards supporting, and some simple homemade furniture on the inside. Two trees were located side by side, and he'd made a small bridge between them.
Making his way up to one treehouse, he pulled on something that looked to be ivy covered in snow but was in fact a rope hidden by a glamour charm, and Shawn smiled as the rope ladder unfurled so he could make his way up. In one treehouse was a little mattress, on top of a mini bed he'd made, with the window and the hammock as well as two chairs and a small table. This was sometimes where he slept if his migraines and all the emotions of the people in the castle became too much for him. There was a covering for the window for in bad weather and a warming charm sufficed to make it comfortable.
Across the bridge was the entrance to the water slide, but that was only at the far end. Before that were shelves of books he'd accumulated over the years, that he had planned out from the beginning and built into the walls from the very start. Many were secondhand and a few he'd managed to save when the librarian was cleaning out the shelves, but that didn't make their value any less to him because of it. There was a little couch, one of the few things he'd had to buy supplies for to help finish, and there was a skylight in the top to let the sun in. Like the window, there was a way of closing it up, a small crank to the right of the couch. Shawn had spent weeks planning it, longer building it to his liking, but it had all been worth it.
As it was January he had a warm jacket on, gloves, a beanie, hiking boots, and his thickest pair of jeans. There were a few changes of clothes hidden under the bed if he needed them. Going over to the library, he grabbed the book he was currently working on and settled into the chair after pulling it next to the window and opening it a small ways. From here he could see for a little ways around the forbidden forest, the small frozen pond, snow all about with his tracks running through certain areas. Turning to his place, he resumed the Picture of Dorian Gray, all but the smell, sight, and feel of the pages slowly fading away into the background.
