Polyjuice Brewing (Holmes, Rhian)

Rhian joined her classmates in the quiet room. She wasn't sure if it was just the fact that it was night time, with the castle quiet and many students already in their dorms. But the atmosphere was different than their normal classes. Students who were usually chatting were relatively quiet. No matter, she thought. They were here to do a job.

With her station set up, she moved to the ingredients area of the classroom, gathering what she needed for this part of the process. Eyeing up the fluxweed, she didn't bother to check that it was a full moon. Mycroft wouldn't have called them here if it wasn't. With those and the knotgrass in hand, she returned to her station and added them as instructed to the cauldron.

Stirring her potion, she looked down at the instructions. She'd always opted for her own pewter cauldron as much as possible. While the other kinds made for lesser brewing times, it had taken her a few different cauldrons to find one she liked. Since she did, the Gryffindor was hard pressed to give this one up.

With that finished, she started cleaning up her station. While it said a certain time to wait, they weren't doing it all in one sitting. She labeled everything necessary and headed up to her dorms.

Rhian wandered down to the potions classroom. She had bags under her eyes from the night before. As the months drew closer to N.E.W.T.S., the Gryffindor was finding it harder and harder to bother worrying about her appearance. Add to that the fact that her boyfriend wasn't around to impress, and she just didn't bother to care about those things anymore.

Throwing her hair into a ponytail, she set up her work station quickly. Of all three nights, she wasn't looking forward to this one in particular. While many ingredients they dealt with were the products of plants or creatures, leeches always made her skin crawl.

Once she'd gathered her ingredients, she picked up a pair of tongs to deal with the slimy buggers. The flies weren't much better, though they were more common. With those crushed and added, she heated the cauldron up.

A wave of her wand finished this part of the project, and she was glad to be done. Gathering up her things and wiping down the area, she made her way back up to her dorm for the night.

Glad to be nearing the end of this project, Rhian stopped by the kitchen to grab an apple before heading to the potions classroom. Her studying was going a bit better, with some of the more difficult things under her belt. Her spirits were high as she entered the room, and it made all the difference in being here at night.

She sent a smile over at Tess as she saw her, not bothering the Slytherin while she was working. Getting set up and ready, she went to gather the ingredients for tonight. Even though this evening involved snake skin, she preferred it over the leeches from last week.

Scraping the skin off the bit of snake, she measured it carefully before adding it to the potion. The horn was a bit more difficult than she expected, with how hard it was. Putting a bit more effort into it, her jaw tensed as she pressed down, eventually it yielded and turned into a relatively nice powder. Once added, she turned the cauldron up and counted down the seconds on her watch.

One more wave of her wand and this part of the project was finished. With a sigh and a small smile, she cleaned up her station and got ready to leave. The Gryffindor was rather excited to get to the end of this project, though she wasn't quite sure who she'd decide to turn into.
