| Alex had just began her shift as a waitress at the Angel's Pub, she didn't really know what she wanted to be when she graduated from Salem, at first she wanted to be a Healer, then an Auror, then a Professor, but she just didn't know anymore. Alex didn't have a clue and it didn't help that she kept changing her mind about what she wanted to be from time to time. The ex-Salem student went over to a table that was in her section.
"Hi, my name is Alex, can I take your-Jake?" Alex was confused on what Jake was doing here. She hadn't seen him since Salem.

| After a long day at Salem, Jake had decided to get a quick drink at the Angel. It wasn't usually his preferred location to drink, but he had rather wanted to avoid the Devil pub that evening for the simple fact he knew he couldn't handle Scarlett that evening. Marilyn wouldn't mind, of that much he was sure. The paperwork had been getting him bogged down, and his mom was fussing over what they would need for their new flat. Jake... Jake just wanted some sleep.
"Hi, my name is Alex, can I take your-Jake?"
Looking up at the witch who'd come to his table, Jake smiled slightly before doing a double take. Now... wow. "Alex! Hey! Long time no see!" Jake replied, blinking once and then really believing what he was seeing. "I didn't know you worked here!" He added, not really sure what else to say, before remembering his manners. "How have you been?" |

| Alex was totally surprised to see Jake at the place where she worked, but she was more surprised to know that he recognized who she was. She remembered how he was dating their fellow classmate Azalea but they were over and now he was training to be an auror. All she could do was nod and smile. "Yes I know, its been like.... two years?" Ever since running away from home and keeping a low profile, she completely forgot how long it was from when she graduated.
"Yes I work here now, have since we graduated school, I like it here" Alex answered honestly. Being a waitress was pretty fun and the customers tipped pretty good, but she mostly liked it because this is the last place that her family would find her. "I've been good, working here and trying to avoid my family. How've you been? I heard you were training to be an Auror" Alex asked Jake.

| "Yes I know, its been like.... two years?"
"Just over three!" Jake corrected the witch gently. It all seemed a very long time ago, everything had changed, he'd changed, but he most certainly knew that all the change was for the better. "Time flies." He added wilfully, a small smile playing on his lips.
"I've been good, working here and trying to avoid my family. How've you been? I heard you were training to be an Auror"
Jake didn't know why Alex would be avoiding her family, but Jake didn't pry. That was personal. "I'm glad you're enjoying your job here!" Jake told the witch, genuinely meaning it, whilst this would never be his choice of job, it was a steady one. "As to me, just the usual stress of everyday life. Being an adult." Jake replied with lite commitment to a full answer, the news that his job was getting around surprised him, until he remembered it was all over the papers.
"Ah, yes, had enough of Quidditch. So I've started my training to join the corps." Jake replied with a grin. "As well as teaching at Salem and Hogwarts of course. Keeps me busy and out from under the girlfriend's feet, so I'm sure she's happy that I'm not in the way." He explained with a chuckle. Marilyn probably didn't mind him, but he was working almost everyday of the week. |
