I made a mistake.. and need your help (Louis, Mycroft)

David apparated right into the Ministry of Magic from the park in which he had just encountered his parents murderer. He knew he had overstepped his bounds, and knew he had to report himself. he also knew Louis would fire him on the spot.. but he needed help and he would beg if he needed, even if he was fired. He did not want people to die, and could not stop it. on his own."

He knocked on the door to Louis' office and stuck his head in "I know you don't have time Sir, but This is important, may we speak" He said politely. He knew in the end Louis would enjoy firing him, so it would be worth his while to listen.

Work waited for no man, Louis realised as he came back from France following the death of his older brother. He'd been away for two weeks, despite the six month mourning period that was customary in his society, two weeks had been ample for the new Clement heir. A cold-hearted man Louis had never been, but it was hard to feel a loss for a man who had become a stranger in the years since he'd turned sixteen.

Harder still to feel a loss for a man who had taken everything you'd ever wanted.

The mountain of paperwork was proving to be tedious, what with the Black Widows now gone, or behind bars, the Auror department was bustling with too many bodies that needed work. So of course, on top of all of this, Louis would be disturbed from his zone of concentration.

"I know you don't have time Sir, but This is important, may we speak"

Looking up from his work and closing the file due to it's level of secrecy, Louis looked up at one of the younger recruits. Not yet a qualified Auror, but working towards it. "Shuter. Sit down." Louis replied, summoning a chair once again for the younger man. "Please tell me that your notion of important is the same as mine." He added, waiting patiently for the recruit to explain the situation at hand. As far as he was aware, Louis was not sanctioning anything the Shuter boy had done, so it wasn't about that.

Or so he hoped.

"Shuter. Sit down. Please tell me that your notion of important is the same as mine."

David sighed and entered the room, sitting down. "I assure you sir, this is important." he began. he didn't know really what to say, come out and say he had attacked a women who was a black widow and did not turn her in, instead fighting with her, or to start from the beginning. he went with starting from the beginning.

"Well, I was just out for a walk in London.. when I encountered a witch.. This is the witch who murdered my mother..and now I hear she murdered my father as well. I regret to say I lost my cool" He gestured to the cuts on his cheek which were still bleeding from Tessa scratching them "She taunted me..and attacked me. I lost me cool and retaliated. It was unprofessional and I realize it was wrong, not mater what that women did to me. If you want to fire me, I understand." He bowed his head. he was not done, but how he continued depended on how Clement would react to this news.

"I assure you sir, this is important."

Louis was not overly convinced that anything the man before him could come up with anything important just yet, but then that was the joy of teaching the recruits. Patience was a virtue that Louis had slowly mastered with time, just in time for this young man, it seemed.

The Frenchman listened as the explanation came, his features devoid of any emotion towards the subject at hand. The vast quantity of information that lacked so much detail made the man cling to the patience for as long as possible.

Details could wait, however, as one detail stuck out more than anything else that had been spoken in that monologue.

"She taunted me... and attacked me. I lost me cool and retaliated."

"I'm sorry, Mr Shuter, but short of being vastly lacking in any detail that might allow me to understand, I have managed to pick up something that I would like to confirm with you before you start talking again." Louis spoke evenly.

"Did you, or did you not just admit to attacking one, a member of the public instead of detaining them, and two, attacking a woman no less?" He asked calmly, needing to hear that before he could move on.

David nodded slowly "It was unprofessional, even though I was off duty, I still should have brought her in." He confirmed the mans fears, and was waiting for the blow up, or the firing to happen, however he said "That is not all. Once I realized what I was doing, I stopped. She did some more talking..and begging." He sighed and stood up, obviously troubled by this. "She begged for me to spare her sister, which I obviously was not going to attack her. She then asked for my help. I agreed to help her." He continued to pace, his hands flexing in and out of a fist.

He was still waiting for Louis Clement to do something he obviously wanted to do since day 1.. give him the boot.

Louis scoffed at the words, looking to the man before him. "An Auror is never off duty, Shuter. Yes you're only a recruit, not yet an Auror, but you're damn well on duty every hour of the day!" Louis replied, shaking his head at the atrocious statement that had left his mouth. But the main one..

"I knew the moment you entered my classroom that you were not a man that held any respect for a woman. But I must say I am surprised. Hitting a woman? I do not know where you believed for a moment that this behaviour would be okay! Provoked or no, you do not hit women, Shuter."

As the younger man stood, showing yet again that his mannerisms were not that of an Auror as his emotions were getting the better of him. It gave Louis time, however to mull the situation over. Not that he believed there was any options left for the boy.

"Shuter. Sit down, for Merlin's sake." Louis commended, his voice firm but not loud. "Your report is nothing short of uninformative. I need names, dates, places. Coherent details of consequences. Not vague information that I can do little and less with."

He also needed Mycroft so the French man sent off his Patronus to the head of department asking him to come and wait outside the door.

Superior or not, That was out of line. David turned on the man and growled 'Don't you dare accuse me of that. I used the term women loosely. She is a monster who took joy in ruining a childhood.. probably MANY childhoods. Too say I hold no respect for women is going too far, and you could not be more wrong. Fire me or not, i will not be accused of that!" To think the man even considered for a second he thought nothing of women pissed David off, if not hurt him a little. he held more respect for women than most, having lived with one most of his life.

When The man told him to sit down, he did, still angry, any respect he had gained for the man was gone with his earlier statement. "If I had them I would give them. All I know is that this man is named Rocko Benson. He killed her father, and she wants revenge. She has agreed to come to jail quietly if I help her find him. The thing is I need help. I can not let her kill Benson, but if i want to apprehend both murderers without death, I will need an extra hand. I am not doing this for her. I am doing this for Vanessa Di'Angelo, so she may remain safe." He said. If the man did not offer help, David would just handle it himself, he just would not be able to guarantee both murderers survival.

As the younger man dared, dared to raise his voice at Louis, the Frenchman's gaze turned icy. "I am not accusing you, Mr Shuter. The facts are quite clearly laid before us." Louis replied in nothing more than a whisper. Lesser men raised their voices, Louis' self control would not allow it. "The real monster is you." He added, not even giving the younger male time to continue as he held up as his hand to show that this was not up for discussion.

And really, it would be in his best interest to stay silent in that moment.

As the information came, the boy still not fulfilling enough information to make it worthwhile. At that time, however, a knock came at the door. Taking out a piece of parchment and a quill, Louis put it in front of the Shuter boy. "Write the name of the woman you met with, the name of anyone I need to know, and the name of the person I need to keep safe. I need information that is relevant to an investigation, Shuter. Do not move from that seat." Louis instructed, moving to the door and slipping in to the hallway.

Shutting the door, Louis took in the Head of the Auror department and let out a small sigh. Thankfully, his room was sound proofed, so the recruit would not hear a word that came next. "Shuter had broken the Auror Code of Conduct, Holmes. And the law, at that. We gave the boy his chances... Twice, in fact. I can't let this slide, Holmes." Louis addressed in a whisper so as the rest of the department would not hear. They were both men of business, and Louis was not going to step around this subject lightly.

"He's writing up the names, because he cannot give me anything useful to move forwards with." Louis explained, highly exasperated as he looked to Mycroft with a slightly raised eyebrow. It was going to be a joy to do this, and hopefully send the boy to the right authorities.

Scrolls left and right were delivered out of his department only for new ones to come in, in a never ending cycle of hell. For many students, faculty, and even trainees, their jobs were done as soon as the Black Widows fell. But for Mycroft, it only meant having to restore damages, distribute funds towards schools, lament deaths towards families and send pensions to many victims. As he signed another death certificate and honors sent to a victim's family, a patronus came into his office. He looked up surprised and saw that there was a clear message that he was needed in Clement's office.

Pushing his chair back, he put on his cloak and took his wand, before dashing off towards the office. Knocking on the door just once, was a signal for Clement to know he was here. Opening the door, he walked in to see something that somehow didn't really surprise him. There was David Shuter once more in the office of his supposed least favorite professor. Closing the door behind him he lifted his brow, waiting for the explanation to begin.

"Shuter had broken the Auror Code of Conduct, Holmes. And the law, at that. We gave the boy his chances... Twice, in fact. I can't let this slide, Holmes."

Looking over at the boy, he felt a headache coming on. Was it so hard to simply follow the law? It was a conduct that any basic thinking human being could follow. When carrying the responsibility of being part of the ministry, even a diminutive role as a trainee, carried responsibility.

"What did you do Mr. Shuter?" he drawled out already frustrated that this was happening.

If he was writing down the information, it meant that it was being documented, that being said, very hard to remove from record. Crossing his arms, he waited for the explanation, right out of Shuter's mouth.
