The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Attack: Main Thread   The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 EmptyWed Jul 30, 2014 5:34 am

It was of no surprise to Josh that the Widows would be here again, in fact the Prefect knew along with his peers that this would be happening. Or at least it had been set as a trap. The Widows were the most pointless organisation Josh had ever had the misfortune to read about, even more pointless than Voldemort and his followers. At least Voldemort had managed to make a cause for his work.

This lot were just a rabble.

But there was something that Josh could almost say he was shocked at. The Grey's. Desmond Grey had arrived in the same moment as the Black Widows and it didn't take a genius to work out what was happening. Throwing a very accusing glance at Louise, the Slytherin turned on his heel. He knew the instructions the prefects had been give, and Professor Holmes could shove the ideas of heroism where the sun didn't shine. The Murray's did not put themselves in such waters.

Instead, he barked orders to get out to the younger students, making them scarper in to line and head through the exit that was being held by some Auror he didn't know. On his way out, he noted a witch passed out and knealt down to pick her up. His ticket out of here had presented itself nicely, and without a second thought the Slytherin pulled the witch in to his arms and followed the younger years away from the destruction.

Preservation, Josh called the situation. He was preserving his life in that moment, but to many it would look like he'd taken a bold move and decided to go with the young, incapable children to protect them.

(OOC: Permission from Jess to move Isabelle Dimonte. Josh is no longer in the hall, so please do not put him in your posts.)

This wasn't exactly how Desmond had planned to show his allegiances, especially not in front of Louise but there was no help for it, he'd only come along to take her out of harms way but there was no way to do so without drawing attention, looked like he was out in the open now. He began dragging his daughter away from the student's, holding her arms tight enough to leave bruising, good thing the girl had sense not to scream. "OOF!" What the bloody hell! He doubled over, both hands covering the family jewels. Eye wateringly painful even for wizards. "Dammit girl!" He reached to grab a hold of her but the bloody brat had gotten out of the way already, wand out and throwing the pendant over her shoulder at him, glaring in fury as she tried to cross the room to the other students and teachers who looked ready to defend themselves.

The widow sought the others, standing up again and limping to join his fellows, standing beside Constance, and taking his own wand out and aiming at his daughter. "Don't let her get away." He murmured under his breath, just loud enough for the widows to hear him.

Louise struggled to get free of the iron grip her father had on her, looking frantically for help, she spotted Josh glaring at her and walking out of the room. What on earth was he thinking? She wasn't part of this, why was he leaving? In a panic she struck out with her legs, swinging backwards till she felt the hands drop away from her, knowing she'd hit her mark. She pulled her wand out from her waist band and scrambled away towards the other student's she decided she would kill anyone who ever tried to put her in heels again. She yanked the pendant off her throat and tossed it backwards towards her father, not caring where it landed, he could shove it up his lying arse.

She could see some of the younger students leaving but she would not be joining them, no she'd stand and fight, she turned to face the widows, backing towards the largest defending group. This was probably a bad idea, her wand held in her right, shaking a little from the adrenaline rush she was feelign and her left held to one side, just in case she tripped on these bloody heels or another person.

PostSubject: Re: The Attack: Main Thread   The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 EmptyWed Jul 30, 2014 6:03 am

After a few minutes of eerie silence and some threatening conversation on both sides, hell broke out. The Widows broke the windows, making glass shatter all around the Hall. There was screaming and chaos everywhere, frightened students either running around or standing still, like they'd be petrified. She wanted to help them all, but that wasn't up to her. Professor Holmes would tell her whether to help with evacuation or to fight and she would obey, this wasn't the time to do whatever you wanted.

"Semele evacuate students immediately. Prefects do as you were prepared to do so. Defend, protect, and attack if necessary! McNeely, Tess, get your ass on the field!"

Mary didn't need to be told twice and she moved towards the jeering Widows, shooting spells from her wand. She wasn't going for anyone in particular until she noticed a man lying on the floor, pointing his wand at a student who was hurrying away. The girl felt vaguely familiar, but the witch didn't really have time to figure it out.

"Expelliarmus!" she shouted, furious that the man would even think about harming an innocent student who couldn't even see the attack coming. 'Petrificus Totalus,' she thought while doing the correct wand movement. Another spell shot out of her wand almost immediately afterwards and was headed towards the pitiful man.

Thana watched as more Aurors kept helping, she kept taking the younger students to safety. So far no one had attacked her groups, they must of thought she wasn't worth it.

Big mistake on their part. Thana saw Josh leave, carrying a girl. As well as taking younger students. She kept looking for Lucas, and her other friends. Makin sure they were alright, so far most of the younger students had left the hall.. With a few exceptions that kept coming back, one if the dead her fellow Ravenclaw, and teammate. Nayte .

"If I have to drag your bloody arse out of here again I'll kill you my bloody self!" She told him, literally dragging him out of the hall. The fights kept going, Thana returned from getting yet another group of students out when she saw her mate, Lolly Lou, being dragged by someone. She was just about to step in when she saw her get away.

Jumping over one of the tables, Thana made her way next to her friend. Ever watchful fr more students, and Mycroft. " Your lollies made a good distraction to the younger kids!!" She told her friend, she had used them to stop the kids from crying, especially the younger ones in the safer areas. " I know its a really bad time and all, but nice kick to whoever you just got.and have you seen Lucas??" Thana said, spotting a firstyear hiding under one if the tables. " I need to get to the girl, will you cover me?" She asked her friend, indicating to where the kid was.

PostSubject: Re: The Attack: Main Thread   The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 EmptyWed Jul 30, 2014 6:39 am

The place was in utter chaos, Louise looked at all the broken glass, fighting and general panic as students rushed to leave or come to one another's aid. She cast shield spells as much as she could just to keep herself out of trouble and to keep those behind her out of harms way, she almost yelped when someone came barreling over to her and relaxed seeing it was thana. "Good to know they're good for something." She replied quickly, glad to know the kids were safe. She threw up another shield watching a purple curse bounce off of it and glanced over to where her father had been just in time to see him get disarmed and petrified. Good the git deserved it. When Thana moved again she followed. "I got your back." She kept the shields coming while they made their way to find the poor child under the table, turning back at the crowd, spotting the widows aiming curses every which way. A few bounced off her shields but she couldn't catch all of them, having to duck or send another curse to re-direct the flashing spells.

She looked back to check Thana's progress when a white light came hurtling towards her, There was no time for shields, so she twisted herself to the right to avoid it but the bloody thing hit it's mark. Whatever it was caught her hair in a tight grip, she tried to pull free but there was no escaping it. She screamed  so loud her throat felt raw. The searing burning pain pulsed from where her left harm had been to her chest. It hurt like nothing else had ever hurt her before. She could barely see, tears were clouding her already red misted vision. At some pint she had fallen to her knees, her wand clutched in her right hand which was now trying to staunch the bleeding shoulder on her left. Gone, all completely gone. She dared to look and winced, so much blood, and no sleeve to cover it up. Merlin it still hurt. She wondered if she would die here, if not from blood loss she'd be an easy target for the widows.

It was difficult to stand, slipping in her own blood in her struggle to stand upright, she was sure she looked as pale as a ghost right now, and really who wouldn't? She looked around for her missing limb but when she found it knew there was no hope of saving it. It had taken a worse shredding than her shoulder. She scrambled towards it, looking for the ring, it took some time but she pried it off and stood as upright as she could. Lucky it hadn't gone any further than her shoulder, but if she didn't stop this blood soon...she didn't want to think about that, she needed to get out or at least get away from the fighting. Another spell flew passed her head, and she stumbled back towards the tabled, trying to stay focused enough to get behind one.

As the battle kept going, Jareth got more and more impatient. Thana kept giving him bloody kids, and he was getting sick of it.

" I can bloody help, and perhaps impress that woman" he thought to himself, it was his challenge now. To date Constance, even if it was just for one night.

Making his way up to the main ballroom again, he dodged Thana and the Aurors, making his way up. He spotted his brother fighting and went to help.

" Get back with the kids!" His brother yelled at him, battling several Widows. " But. I can help!!" Jareth replied, just before he heard cracking. He looked up to see a wall falling. " This is going to friggen hurt" he thought to himself, before it landed on top of him, pinning him to the ground.

All eyes were pointed in the same direction, it seemed. The blonde who entered, saying words Joe didn't care for. He was far too concerned as to why Brooke wasn't back yet; she hadn't been gone long, but he was worried now, what with the almost certainly insane woman rattling on about wanting four people and the things she would do to get them.

"Bloody hell," Joe murmured to himself, trying to find a mental distraction from what was going on before he had some kind of anxiety enduced breakdown. "I came out to have a good time and I'm feeling so attacked right now." His mind wandered to the hours he would spend in the holidays on his laptop, lying on his bed with the fan blowing hot air around the room.

"Did she say why she's here?"

Joe turned to her, relief flooding his being as his eyes found hers again. "She-," he started, voice just as low as hers was. "She wants four kids." He daren't mention that one of them was her brother; if he had to, Joe would literally give himself up to the woman in the knowledge that at least Brooke would have her brother safe and sound. "Two from Hogwarts, too from Salem. She says she'll fight until she gets them..."

The flash of the first spell flew across his eyes, too quick for him to register it initially. He quietly drew his wand from his pocket, turning it around in his hand a few times as he looked over to Brooke. "Is it too late to take you up on that personal bodyguard offer?" he asked with a boyish smile on his lips, reaching up and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You'll be okay," he assured her. "I won't let you not be." It probably didn't make sense, but Joe's speech was all over the place at the best of times, and with the cocktail of adrenaline and fear burning in his stomach, he wasn't destined to ever make sense again. He took her hand, hearing the voices of people he knew and people he didn't. Spells and curses and jinxes and hexes; the thought of the oncoming battle made him feel sick to the stomach, but he felt like he had to at least feign confidence. For the younger kids, if not anyone else.

His jacket was discarded, thrown to the side before he loosened his tie a little, his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows shortly after. He wanted to get rid of all and any restrictions.

"Stay with me?"

Constance looked at the chaos that broke out around her. Prefects took upon the role of shuffling students out of the room, staff were fighting widows as well as the aurors. It was predictable that Clement placed a block wall around her. She didn't have time to think before Desmond came up beside her, telling her a command to not let his daughter out of her sight. She gave a short nod, keeping an eye on her while breaking down the wall with one of her many spells. She pushed her arms and hands forward, a huge gale force wind came from her directly towards Clement. Shards of glass followed from the broken windows. It would be a pleasure if it would cut him but she knew with his experience it would only be a distraction. This was one of her opportune moments to throw the cruciatis curse at Mycroft. While she did so, she focused all her strength on him, yelling out other widows to create a circle guard around her. She yelled in Latin, which meant that it was serious and they needed to follow her instructions. Sure enough, there were two rows of widows guarding her while she attempted to take down Mycroft. She knew it was risky to do this, it could drain her of her energy that she had been building after kidnapping the children.

There was an short earthquake and Constance saw out of the corner of her eye that a huge chunk of the wall had collapsed on a student. She gave an approving smile,"Bravo, Dimitri." She said to the wizard who conducted that spell. Honestly, she had no idea what that wizard was capable of but only now did Constance believe that he proved his allegiance to her. Her mind was beginning to thump with pain as she tried to concentrate on the curse. She broke the gaze when she saw movement from Desmond's daughter. "Grey, take over." She muttered for only him to here. "You should learn to take care of your own daughter. I'll do the honors." She snarled, breaking her guard circle and storming over towards the girl.

Looking down at the girl as though she were a piece of gum to the bottom of her heel, she pulled her hair in her hand. "I hear you've been causing trouble for Desmond. He told me to deal with you and not let you get away. I think I'll give him a hand.." She smirked, retrieving one of her daggers and watching it glint in the light. Without remorse, she pulled the girl's arm out and slashed down from her shoulder. Constance held the girls limb in her hand which begun oozing blood. Laughing, she tossed it into the girls lap. Turning around, she looked back at Desmond and shrugged.

Something else caught her attention then, it was a boy with eyes of lust. Her eyes held his for a moment, figuring out what he wanted. Out of the corner of her eye she saw something coming towards her and waved her hand out, then shards of glass began to go towards whatever was coming at her. It went down in screams and she smiled in satisfaction. Her eyes looked down at his attire. Then she realised that was the boy who was under the fallen wall. The girl with blue streaks had freed him. They must have ties together because the way she looked at him protectively was... Interesting. Blue streaks girl helped children escape to safer areas. Her blood boiled, thinking that it could've been one of the four children she wanted. Her eyes flickered to the boy and decided to use her charm. She strode over to the boy, swaying her hips. Constance bit her lip, stopping in front of him. Leaning forward she whispered in his ear,"Wouldn't you be a good play thing? Quite hot too. Maybe you can join me in bed sometime?" She purred, nipping his earlobe. She pulled away to look away temporarily in the blue streaks girl's eyes before leaning into the boy, kissing him passionately. Her lips pushed against his for a few seconds and in lightening speed, her hand shot out to her daggers and raked up his spine. She didn't puncture anything important but she knew that it would cause excruciating pain.

Her lips turned into a snarl,"Bitch, you will pay, even if I have to kill you myself. That is for not siding with me. I will be back to have your heart in my hands, watch your back." She walked away, wiping her lips. Walking back over to where she started, she realised that the circle was still there but they were all laying dead on the ground. Desmond was elsewhere. Stepping over the dead bodies, she looked at Mycroft, beginning to focus entirely on him. She didn't care about the children. Constance wanted Mycroft dead.

Jareth laid under the wall, stuck. Finally someone freed him, his adoptive sister, Thana. She didn't have time to yell at him. He was taken over by Constance, she was coming towards him.

Jareth didn't hear Thana screaming for him to get away, his eyes only focused on Constance. As she spoke to him his heart fluttered. When she kissed him he was in seventh heaven. For one moment everything seemed perfect.

Pain, searing pain Jareth felt it go through his spine, he fell to the ground. Only just hearing Vale's words to Thana. She had been right, he wasnt ready. Everything went black after that.

Lucas had been fighting a Widow when he sensed his ring and his scar go off at the same time, he turned around to see his brother stabbed by Constance. And Thana screaming at him.

In an instant he was next to his brother, hearing the Widows words.

Bitch you will pay

Lucas heard the Widow speak to Thana, in that instant he knew. " Thana don't do it" he told her, kneeling next to his brother.

" I'm sorry Lucas" she said, kissing him on the forehead, then leaving. "Oh my dear Brother.. What have you done?" He asked his little brother, who was unconscious.

The stand off had been quite intense. Jake had no clue in which direction he should have been looking as the main party of teachers gathered in the center of the room. Victoria's hand remained in his, clinging on to him like her life depended on it.

And sadly, Jake realised a moment later, it probably did.

The ex-Belladonna merely gave the witch's hand a reassuring squeeze. Perhaps Mari could feel the tension, or maybe it was simply the kindness that Jake knew the witch to possess, but not a moment later, Mari had taken her cuffs off her wrist and placed them on Victoria, explaining they were shields, that Victoria would be okay, and not to panic.

However, Jake was quite sure that Victoria wouldn't be capable of such things as he could feel her trembling. It would have been better to get her out of here, to safety, but Jake didn't trust the networks to get Victoria safe. No, in Jake's opinion, Victoria was safer where she was, between an Auror and himself.

When the fighting broke out, Victoria let out a strangled sob, making Jake look down instantly, she was okay, but tears were already there in her eyes. "It's okay." Jake whispered to the witch, sending a stunning hex at an oncoming Black Widows. The whimpers from Victoria grew, but in fairness to the young witch, any spell that moved towards the trio Victoria cast a solid shield that ricoheted the spell away from the trio.

Jake didn't look away from the advancing Black Widows, but it was quite clear from the rainbow of colours to his right that Marilyn was sending off as many curses as she could to take down, maim or injure as many Widows as possible.

"She wants four kids."

Her heart lurched and almost stopped. There was something about the way he had paused, the way he had worded the next few words that told her what he hadn't said aloud. In her mind, there was but one explanation of Constance's requests: it was the four students that had been taken previously. Why she wanted them again, and why she was willing to crash the ball to get them, Brooke didn't know, nor did she care. "Isabelle," she replied, slowly. "Haylen. Jaden. Tristan." The last name, the name of her family, she provided with a wobbly tone. The names hadn't been released, not officially, but Tristan had told her, and there was no way she was able to forget. "Am I right?" she added, hoping that Joe would look confused, correct her, something, anything to tell her she was wrong, but she knew deep down that she wasn't.

"Is it too late to take you up on that personal bodyguard offer?"

She chuckled, instantly recalling the moment he was refering to. Merlin, over everything that was happening, he still remembered? "Of course it isn't," she replied; humor kept her going, helped her through everything she faced. "Watch out, Joe, Black Widows have crashed the ball."

"I won't let you not be."

Shaking her head slightly, she smiled experimentally. "We will be okay... But the other students come first, Joe. We need to get them out," she replied, leaving the rest of the words in her mind: I will give up my life to save them.

Pulling herself out of the moment, she glanced around. Chaos had errupted, spells were being sent and dodged, people were screaming, students crying, adults cursing... And above it all, she heard the soft voice of Joe: "Stay with me?"

Giving his hand a slight squeeze, she nodded. "Couldn't get rid of me even if you wanted to." Although she didn't want to let go, she knew it wasn't practical to fight while holding hands, and so, reluctantly, she slipped it out. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, grip on her wand tight, she moved towards a group of younger years, trusting that Joe would be right behind her.

PostSubject: Re: The Attack: Main Thread   The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 EmptyWed Jul 30, 2014 9:06 am

Thana had finally gotten the little girl out, when she turned around Louise was nowhere to be seen. She frantically looked, just in time to see her friend bleeding, her arm missing.

Instinctively, without thinking Thana ran to her. " It's okay Lolly Lou, its okay" she said, grabbing the girl. " Lou, no matter what happens from here on in, know that you're one of my best friends. " she told the girl , there was no way her arm could be saved. All Thana could do was heal what was left. Summoning her Isolde, Thana grabbed Lou's arm gently, lettin the blue orb encompass it. She watched as Lou looked shocked, but kept going. Soon her arm was healed, it wasn't perfect, but a new skin had grown over the missing bones, and had stopped the blood loss. " Get out if here Lou" she said to her friend, leaving no time for explanations.

When the wall fell on Jareth, Thana ran to him. Praying he was still alive, using her Isolde, she lifted the wall enough for him to get out.

The next few moments went by slowly, as if time was freezing. Constance had gone to Jareth, kissed him, then stabbed him. He fell to the floor, in that moment time stopped. Everything did.

Bitch, you will pay, even if I have to kill you myself. That is for not siding with me. I will be back to have your heart in my hands, watch your back

Thana listened as the Woman spoke to her, this attack was out of pure vengeance . Nothing more. When she blinked again Lucas was next to her and Jareth.

Thana don't do it

" I'm sorry Lucas" Thana replied, getting up. No more time for listening to orders, no more getting the others out of the way. Now she was going to fight. " I'm sorry Master" she said , clutching her necklace. This bitch had awoken the wolf, and she was going to pay. She didnt care a out her own self, she cared that Vale had hurt two of her closest friends. Possibly killing them both.

Thana's mind suddenly ticked. Vale, one of her fathers unknown workers. If this Woman wanted to kill her friends, she had better of been prepared to lose her own. Thana changed, all of her body did. Gone was the nice girl, instead she was replaced by Thana. Tom Riddles daughter.

Thana picked up her wand and went towards two charging Widows that were about to attack a first year. She didnt care who saw, who knew, she was going to protect her friends. She knew what had to be done, and unlike the others, she was willing to do it. Thana didn't give the Widows a chance of fighting back, drawing her wand quicker than either of them. This wasn't vengeance, or hate, simply preservation. She had to stop anymore of her friends getting hurt.

"My turn"
Thana drew her wand, then aimed,  hitting one if the Widows directly in the chest. He fell to the floor, clutching his chest. Thana walked over to him, still holding the knife she had picked up from the table. She sliced the Widow's neck.

She didn't bother using a knife on the second one, instead she simply broke his neck. She didnt care what trouble she would get into, nor what Tess, or Mycroft, or anyone thought of her. She kept fighting, getting children out, and stopping Widows who got into her way, She had only one thing on her mind now. Preservation . She would make sure that Constance would notice her, and prayed to dear god that she wouldn't hurt anymore students.

Thana ran to another table, a small group of children were behind it. " Get out!" She yelled at them, her dress covered in blood. Some of it her own. Thana ran with the group, putting up shields as they ran. She sent spells back towards the Widows who got in her way. She couldn't lose it. Mycroft had told her not to attack, Thana was going to try her damn best to keep it that way. There was no way she was going back to Azkaban. She had killed two Widows already, one for each of her friends. The rest she simply hexed, the Aurors could deal with them.

A/n I have permission to heal Lou

"Stay human form, Shuter, you're less use to me without a wand." David heard through the ear piece after the affirmative. "Yes sir" He said, tightening his grip on his wand. He wanted nothing more than to stay human form,as useful as Lion form was, he felt naked without being able to use a wand. He was good enough that he could survive a wand fight as a lion, but he liked his chances better with a wand.

He had no had a chance to even encounter a Widow when Louis' voice came through the ear piece again.
"Shuter, Rosier, Chase. Hold the entrances-" there was a smash that David did not need the earpiece to hear. then Louis continued
"Hold the entrances of the halls, let students out and keep the widows in. The apparition wards will hold for long enough. Do not enter the hall. Caldwell, Waters, take out as many as you can, kill if necessary." David nodded, he could sense the battle getting more and more intense and said through his ear piece "I got the main entrance. I won't let anyone through me if i can help it"

A nameless widow ran past, and David shot a quick body bind at him, but narrowly missed and he ran out of sight. David cursed quietly and awaited something to happen that he could get involved.

(Anyone can attack him, preferably Tessa for self plot reasons)

Take over she says! Bloody women! Desmond growled and took over clearing the wall away, ducking unfriendly fire from all sides. He barely had a chance to breathe let alone see what the woman was doing, his briefest glance over and he almost retched at the sight. Not quite what he had in mind but it'll put her out of the way for a while, he'd have to deal with it later.

There was a reason Des never went on these sorts of missions, he just wasn't a fighter, he let another take over the spell work and made his way out of the ballroom, leaving it up to them. He had no time for this and he'd rather not get caught so soon. He just barely dodged a bonding spell and got outside, he kept running till he felt the wards pas shim and apparated back home, he'd deal with the fallout later.

Gasps, screams, then silence. The last thing she saw was the flashing bright red light coming from her wand. Then her hearing was cut, as slowly her brother fell forward him mouthing something that she couldn't grasp. Her body began to fall down, in her mind slower, much slower than reality. Time began to move normally as she felt the cold tile hit her naked shoulders. She laid there, her body shaking a bit as her brain processed that the spell was. The spell could have brought her brother to his knees, with painful screams. She barely heard him yelling something to Miss Finn before she was off. In some sick part of her mind she was angry at how she wasn't reacting quick enough.

As he got up, he picked her up like she was a ragdoll. She struggled a bit to get her footing, but it was clear that this wasn't the time to freeze. He shook her, hard and she dug her nails in his suit signaling to him that it was time.

"Defend, protect, and attack if necessary! McNeely, Tess, get your ass on the field!"

She nodded and pushed herself from his grasp. Her hands went immediately to her dress, ripping the soft material without a second thought. There on her thigh was her wand, ready to fight when ready. Picking it up, she began throwing defensive spells. So many students had simply coward, and she didn't blame them.

"Petrificus Totalus Tria!" She cried out trying to bind some weaker Black Widows. She could tell from their unsureness in battle, so young, and so similar to them.

She wouldn't use an unforgivable, it was beneath her. But she would attack if needed. But for her there was one spell that was painful enough to use, and fitting.

"Sectumsempra!" she cried out as one was coming her way.

She pushed him off of her, wincing and shuddering at the screams of the Black Widow. But then again she had seen students die at this Widow's hands. For war there were only a few rules she followed: no death. Near death on the other hand....well that was a different case.

He didn't want to say yes to her, to confirm her suspicions, to worry her further. But she was right. All four names matched those that the blonde sought after. Refusing to say it out loud, not only for Brooke's sake, but for his own, he nodded. "I'm sorry," he whispered, apologizing on the woman's behalf, almost, even though he knew Brooke wouldn't accept it. Of course, it wasn't even remotely his fault, but with what she had been through, the witch before him deserved all the apologies in the world.

"Watch out, Joe, Black Widows have crashed the ball."

"It'll be more like: 'watch out Joe, there's a person there and you'll push them out the window if you don't stop staggering around like that!'," he said with a smile to match Brooke's own. Joe found himself trying, then, really actually trying to memorise every inch of her face, every pitch of her laugh. The thought that he might not be alive another day to see or hear any of these things again was probably absurd; he was going to come out of this relatively fine, or at least, that was what he was telling himself.

"Couldn't get rid of me even if you wanted to."

The Hufflepuff happily followed after the witch after what she said, the buzzing feeling in his chest returning. He'd finally located what that feeling was; contentment, and it was something he'd felt rarely in his life before.

The shrieks of horror that met his ears as they rushed off towards the group of younger children made his heart sink. They were too young, too sweet, too innocent for any of this. The world was too cruel a place. Instead of taking the Murray initiative that he had watched earlier and barking at them, he ushered them away from the fighting with soft tones and assuring words.

After a short while, the group had been removed, and the other prefects seemed to have done a fair job at getting the kids to safety. Now, he realised, was the hard part. The fighting. Joe had never been too great at any of the whole magic thing in a classroom environment, and heaven knew that he would be hopeless under any kind of actual pressure. It wasn't the time for his pessimistic attitude, though, and Joe knew that well. It was the time to actual believe that he could do things and that he would.

All hell seemed to have broken lose. There was blood everywhere, and honestly, Joe was surprised as to how people weren't slipping and sliding all over the place because of it. The poor soul whose blood it was would be lucky to still be alive. There were spells flying around all over the place, curses, hexes, jinxes alike. He didn't even want to begin to think about which ones were unforgivables.

"I'm sorry,"

"Don't be," she said instantly, giving her head a minute shake. It wasn't his fault, not in the least bit, so why should he apologize? The students had been found alive, evidence of torture very visible, and Tristan refused to give details - and that in itself spoke volumes, for he had told her many tales from his past, most of which she dare not repeat - but they were still alive. That was all she chose to focus on, because she knew if she let her mind wander into the unknown territory of what had actually happened to them, she would go crazy.

She chuckled at his joke despite the gravity of the current situation. "Since when do you ever stagger?" The light tone of her voice and the way she grinned back at him were nothing but a front. Deep down she was worried, afraid that one - or both - of them would not make it through the night. It was a selfish thought, and she felt a pang of guilt as she glanced around at the growing number of dead bodies, scattered like litter on the floor. If it came to it, she knew she would rather be killed herself than let an innocent person die. Would she herself kill? She shuddered at the thought, hoping with everything she had that it did not come down to it.

The next few moments were spent clearing out the other students. It mattered not if they were Salem or Hogwarts; they were students nevertheless, and as a prefect, it was her duty to protect them. Joe seemed to have a knack at the whole staying calm thing, and so she let him guide the students out as she stood guard, making sure no Black Widows tried to stop them. A few times she sent stunning spells in a direction of those that got too close for comfort, and at others, defensive ones to block any spells that came their way, whether by accident or not.

Her role had been clearly given: she was to protect the students and help them escape, not so much as engage in battle. That was the job of the adults - the Professors and the Aurors that had been positioned in the hall. At one point, she thought she saw Scarlett, but this was no time for playing catch-up, and Brooke concentrated on what she and Joe were doing.

They continued to shepherd students towards the exit, making sure they got out safe. Suddenly, a loud blast echoed in front of them, throwing her off balance. Quickly getting to her feet, wand first, she ignored the stinging of the cuts on her arms and legs as well as the ringing in her ears. The door the the exit had been hit by what seemed to be a explosive spell, for it was now completely blocked by rubble.

"Crap," she muttered, looking around for the next nearest exit. It was too far away, and a sea of multi-coloured spells flew between them. Turning back to the clogged exit, she paled, unsure as to what she could do.

A few moments passed, but at every passing second, she knew it was getting more dangerous to be standing there. Not knowing what else to do, she pointed her wand at the middle of where the door was supposed to be. "Get back," she instructed. Then, with a flick of her wrist, she muttered, "Bombarda!" The force of the blast did as she hoped, clearing a small enough hole for people to get through. Fight fire with fire, she thought grimly, ushering the students through it before turned back towards Joe.

PostSubject: Re: The Attack: Main Thread   The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 EmptyWed Jul 30, 2014 9:59 pm

The whole ballroom that was once beautiful and lively, was now a symbol for chaos, death and destruction. So many students were screaming, asking for help, and he was grateful enough to those handful of students who listened to him and bothered to help out. He didn't need more students in danger. The weight of already planning this trap down was hard enough, let alone letting students lose their lives. As soon as people had disbursed, did he bother to turn to really get in the fight.

He removed his suit immediately, his wand already at hand. It was about time too considering that not a moment sooner Constance was coming his way. Spells began to be thrown his way, some demisable, some needing something to deflect them. He hissed in pain as one cut through his shirt and to his rib. It was a slow burn, and it was enough for him to get angrier. That insipid woman had no only created the chaos, but also had brought sleepless nights to his fiancée.

The shorter woman moved fluidly towards him, and he was not backing down. With every defensive spell came a counterattack. Green, blue, yellow, lights came through his wand and he was only growing with adrenaline. She was good, and as she came closer he allowed her to get closer.

"This could've gone the easier way Holmes. Hand over the children." She snarled, reaching out to grab his throat. "I want to hear their screams fade away as the blood drains from their body." She continued, eyes never once leaving his.

"That would be less fun you know" he snarled. "The only thing you'll see is me before you lay dead on the floor" he roared back.

As she reached for his throat he moved forward to capture her. Never with his hands, he wouldn't sully them; instead he muttered a spell and from him came enchanted ropes from his wand.

Constance had ropes around her, industrial ropes lined with skin searing chemicals. Ongoing screams from the witches mouth went on for a little while before she had to make the decision she had to keep going. This was important to show she would not back down.

Constance struggled to summon all her energy to cut the magical bond of the ropes. Already, some of her skin had seared down to muscles. Agony was shooting through her body yet somehow her mind cooperated with her. Slowly, she sawed the ropes with a dagger and the rest of the ropes fell down in a heap. She half collapsed onto the ground and whispered a few healing incantations. Her wounds healed to bearable pain and from there she stood on her feet in a rage. Mycroft was able to capture her. It half terrified her that no one was on back up since there weren't orders from her. Desmond fleed from the scene and thought he was wimp to not fight. Looking to her side, she saw a student enter the room. Her eyes only saw Isabelle and she snarled, reaching over to the girl to hold her in her grasp.

Her eyes were wild and insane, she was truly psychotic now. She coughed up a mouthful of blood, her teeth staining red. Her hand stroked the girl's hair while the girl struggled to fight against her. "Isabelle, I finally have you. I will take pleasure breaking all of your bones, one by one."

---

Estelle had excused herself talking to a girl in the main ballroom. Her stomach started to churn from the nerves. She went to the bathroom and stayed in there, trying to get a grip of herself. She played music loudly in her ears to try and block out the ringing in her ears, oblivious to what was going on around her. She wasn't sure how long she stayed in there for. Once Estelle thought she was stable enough, she walked out to the main ballroom.

Shock, horror and terror didn't begin to cover what she felt and what she saw around her. Dead bodies were laying on the ground. She didn't even have to guess to know who was behind it. Black Widows. The Black Widows were one of the most deadly groups to come across and they had found their way into the school. Her heart was thudding in her chest like a bird trying to break free of a cage. Then she saw her. Constance Vale. Estelle couldn't deny that she was breathtakingly beautiful and deadly. Her blonde, almost white hair was mixed with dust and blood. Her face bore a smile. Her body moving towards Estelle.

It took a while to register that Estelle should've run but Constance had beaten her to it. Screams escaped Estelle's lips, her legs kicking back at Constance. Suddenly, Estelle felt a piercing pain in her chest. Looking down, blood was pooling down her white dress. Etched in her chest was a dagger with its hilt buried deeply. She tried to scream but all that came out was bubbling blood. The pain faded to a numbing feeling. The dagger was taken out and she started choking on her own blood. Her misery ended with the blade piercing her heart.

---

Constance looked down at the little girl whom she murdered. Her vision came back to her properly and saw that this wasn't the right girl. Shrugging, she turned over the lifeless body with her foot. Blood had turned the dress from white to a deep red crimson. Turning away from the girl, she looked at Mycroft who looked like he was advancing on her. Shaking her head manically, she cackled. "You will never capture me."

Backing up, she took out her hand, pressing it to her neck. "No one ever captures Constance Vale." She murmured, tightening her grip. Constance was never in her right mind, even when she did this. The last thought of hers of what she could've been. She knew this was the end of Constance Vale. She yelled one last command,"Dimitri, you are in charge! Roof tops, come down. File in from every entrance. Do it!"

Then Constance muttered her final words,"Avada Kedavra!" Then everything went black.

To those around her, Constance's body fell next to Estelle's. Constance Vale and Estelle Lovelace were both dead.

Thana had to get the students out, the battle was turning into a bloodbath. She kept herding the students to safety, praying that no more of her friends would get hurt. She kept going, back and forth, back and forth, getting students out.

Somewhere in the midst of the battle, Thana saw Constance kill a girl, then herself. Constance was no more, only the orders she left behind. Thana kept running, getting students out. Not noticing the Widow that was about to target her.

The girl with the blue streaks had defied Constance, even after hurting the girls friends. The girl kept getting students to safety,  He watched as she killed two Widows. " What a waste of talent" he thought to himself, walking over to the girl. This one was his, his to kill.

Thana was tired, both emotionally and physically. She had a job to do, so she kept going. She turned around at the sound of heavy footsteps, just in time to get thrown against a wall. Thana dropped her wand, the Widow made sure of that. He was around thirty, that much she could tell. She got up from being flung against the wall, even though every part o her told her to leave, she couldn't. Her friends were here, slowly she got up. Trying to find her wand, the Widow kept attacking. Causing cuts all over Thana'a body, they hurt, she screamed at each one. The Widow kept taunting her, hexing her. She kept getting up, finally , as he was about to curse her she retaliated. They were both in the middle of the ballroom, Thana desperately trying to defend without a wand. If she kept this Widow busy, hopefully the students would be able to leave, or at least a few.

Getting thrown to the ground again, Thana looked to her right.  She saw her friends, cut and injured. Lucas, protecting the unconscious Jareth. Thana struggled to get up, she was tired. Hey tired. Somewhere, deep inside her, her Isolde sparked. She summoned it, praying it would be enough. Two spheres appeared in her hands, she closed them together and formed a larger sphere, a blue radiating orb. She didn't care who saw it, she just needed to use it. Focusing the last of her energy, she flung it as hard as she could towards the Widow. Before falling to her knees. The Widow got hit by it, Thana didn't see how bad. All she saw was another Widow walking in front of her, without a wand. Thana desperately tried to get away, the Widow easily caught her , picked her up off the ground. " Such a shame, you were such a pretty face" The Widow told her. "Any last words?"

Thana knew this was it, her body was tired. She was drained, she didnt have the energy to fight back. Instead, she was like a ragdoll in the Widows grip.
" Ohana"

The Widow didn't understand what the girl said. A simple word. It meant nothing to him. Strangely enough there was no fear in the girls eyes, instead there was a small smile.

Thana said what she had said, the Widow obviously didn't understand. A quiet calm crept over her, she didn't hear Lucas yelling, or anything really.  She felt the shard of glass pierce through her body, going inside her and coming out the other side. The Widow let her go, she looked down, before falling to her knees once again. She stayed there for a moment, on her knees. She bled, her  heart slowed. The glass had pierced the Lugs and her internal organs. She didn't  know if it pierced her heart or not. Slowly she fell backwards, not feeling as she landed. She didn't know if she was still alive or not, she was bleeding. Badly. She was unconscious as she hit the floor.

Kharma had come for Thana.

Victoria hadn't seen the battle start, or rather, she hadn't seen the battle start in clear view. The tears were rolling down the witch's cheeks almost the moment the battle had started, blurring everything as she wished with all her might that Professor Holmes, Professor Finn, Mary, the Hogwarts Head Girl Tess, and everyone would walk away unhurt.

Whatever Marilyn had said beside her was gone from her mind as she tried so very hard to help. With each flash of colour that came, Victoria conjured the shield to cover the three of them, her sheer terror making the magic stronger than she'd ever managed before. The witch tried nothing else, knowing that she'd hit someone else in her state, and if she...

The witch shuddered at thought of hurting someone by accident...

Victoria had managed to keep herself safe. But more importantly her brother and Marilyn. Even if she shook throughout. The witch had managed to blink through the fog of tears, clearing her vision for only a moment, and she wished she hadn't.

For the moment Victoria looked out in to the crowds, to the Black Widows, she saw the leader plunge a dagger through a students heart. Estelle Lovelace, a girl Victoria only knew by name, but was aware of. A shriek left the witch's throat at the sight, not looking away as the the leader turned her wand on herself. "Jake, do something!" Victoria insisted, shaking her brother. It didn't matter who the person was, what wrongs they had done, they did not deserve to die.

But even Victoria's love of the world could not stop the green light that the Wormwood knew.

The leaders body crumpled to the floor and Victoria's sobbing was renewed. "J... Jake..." She sobbed, only distracting her brother as she tried to make it stop. Why them? Why now? Why?

The usually functioning witch was lost, forgetting to keep up a shield Victoria just clung to her brother's side. She couldn't hear the sound of him trying to tell her to hide. She was lost in the abyss of fear that consumed her wholly and kept her clinging to the one person she trusted with her life.

She didn't hear the howl of pain that elicited from Marilyn beside her as a dark curse smashed in to the older witch's left hand, breaking every bone on contact. Nor did she realise how hard she made it for Jake to move to give Mari momentary cover from the onslaught of curses. Victoria saw nothing, felt nothing but fear.

There was nothing she could do as shrapnel from an explosion caught Jake in the face as he held himself around her to protect her from the chaos.

But even through the numbness of the situation, Victoria could mentally scold herself. For the first time in fifteen years she'd found something she wasn't good at. Something that the witch knew that even with practice she could never manage.

Victoria Newbury realised that in these situations, she was nothing but a liability.

And Jake had realised that, as a moment later he was barking at Carson to get her out of there. Get her safe, and stay with her until he came to get her.

Marilyn's arm from the elbow down was searing, every bone had shattered and she'd felt every single one. But she had to keep fighting. You've been through worse, she told herself in thought, clenching her teeth and stealing herself.

Just as she was regaining her focus a curse flashed straight past her head bringing to attention that Victoria was completely losing it next to her, the witch knew, however, that the hysterical girl could not be calmed nor helped by her interferance. So she tried to shield Jake and her from as much harm as possible. But a familiar face turned up in front of her.

"Hello, pretty lady..." That rough voice drawled, "I see you're wearing my gift... how thoughtful!" He gestured to her face and deflected a curse she shot at him. They began duelling, each one dodging the hexes of the other and that's when she realised he was toying with her, he counted on her being broken and irrational at the sight of him.

Instead, she was full of ice cold calculation. "CRUCIO!" The witch cast, expression stony as the man crumpled before her. Marilyn had never been one for revenger, but this was a slight exception. She stopped the curse, only after he'd begun to fall limp. In that moment, he shot one last curse her way that hit her already injured arm right after she shot a familiar flash of green at the man who'd delighted in her torture for a year. A widow who'd taken her and carved his marks in to her face for hours, moving on to her neck and chest when he'd grown bored.

In a way she had been more merciful than he. Even her mother had thought she'd be better off dead. But now was no time for reflection. The Widows were losing. So she stepped over his lifeless body and fought on, knowing that the battle would soon be done.

And that his kind would get what was coming to them.

The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Attack: Main Thread   The Attack: Main Thread - Page 2 EmptyThu Jul 31, 2014 6:55 am

All around Mary were screams of horror, pain, there was blood everywhere, the few remaining students were crying and trying to hide, curses were flying all around. It felt so surreal.

Mary was battling one of the Widows and he seemed to be really good at it. She was as well, however. She took out almost every spell that was cast her way and was casting hers non-verbally to gain an upper hand. Of course, she couldn't defend herself from every spell and what she assumed was Sectumsempra had slashed through her dress and left hip. The girl clutched her hip as she gasped and then luckily regained her senses. She cast a shield charm around herself before quickly applying healing spells.

Blood was gushing out of the wound and she didn't think her spells were working. She kept re-casting the shield charm and could hear the man laughing cruelly as he advanced on her, probably wanting to end this as soon as possible. The witch panicked and cast one last healing spell, concentrating on stopping the blood and then sent a body-binding curse towards the man.

Looking down, Mary saw her formally sea-green dress was now drenched in blood, but at least it seemed to have stopped gushing out. The Widow had hit the floor and was unable to move, so that bought her some time. "Ferula," she muttered and a bandage tied itself around her waist.

She was beginning to get a bit lightheaded from the loss of blood, but there were still Widows to fight and she wouldn't give up that easily. The witch disarmed the Widow and then procured strong ties from her wand and had them tie around the man lying on the floor. He seemed to be seething and was sending death glares at her, but with his wand in her hand, he wasn't much of a threat.

Just as Mary was considering levitating the pitiful man somewhere, a young girl started shrieking and the witch turned away. She saw the leader stabbing a little girl and a scream escaped the Head Girl's mouth and she wanted to do something, to help, but she was too shocked to move. Her legs wouldn't move, it was like she was paralyzed and she could only watch as the witch barked some orders around and then killed herself.

Mary looked around in a haze as she saw even more Widows came in through the windows. There was no time to be scared or shocked though and the witch raised her wand, shooting stunning spells towards the Widows. She hoped it would soon be all over, as she was exhausted and blood was still trickling out of her wound. Another Widow soon started to shoot spells towards her, trying to harm her and she was caught up in another duel.

This time, the fight was over much sooner and with both parties hurt. Just as Mary sent a Stinging hex towards the man, she was hit with an unknown curse and a horrible pain shot up from her left ankle, making the witch scream in pain. She fell down, as she couldn't stand anymore and carefully touched her ankle with shaking hands. The bones seemed to be shattered and Mary thought she was going to pass out right then and there. The only thing keeping her conscious was the fact that the battle was still going on.

She sent a Stunning spell at the man and watched as he hit the floor. 'Good.' she thought and then tried to get back on her feet. It wasn't over yet.
