Personality: Jackson is of the opinion that life shouldn't be taken too seriously. Or at least, that is the persona he tries to affect. Unfortunately it doesn't always work as he ends up caring for things/people. Usually friendly but introverted, Jackson does tend to hold a grudge, his most prominent one being against the Nightshade Quidditch team for not letting him in as a second year.
Background: Jackson is a twin, or was when he was born anyway. Sadly his twin sister who was born about three minutes after him died ten minutes later of SIDS. He doesn't remember her but does use the information to get cosy with girls if he thinks they would fall for it.
Jackson was raised in the small, out of the way town with only one mall and supermarket. His environment, as a result, was very communal. It had to be when there were only a few thousand people living in the town. As a result, everyone knew everyone and everyone for the most part took care of everyone. When Jackson's mom Merida Blake woke up one morning to find her boyfriend of three months gone, along with her savings, jewellery and even her old beat up car, the townspeople were there for both her and her children. When Merida gave birth to Jackson and Summer, the townspeople were there to look after the boy and bury the girl as Merida recovered. Over the years, Jackson became known as Jax and well integrated into the town's system. He was a bright kid but not on the showy side. He went to middle school like all the other kids around him but had to be pulled out of fourth grade when his Salem letter arrived. At first Jackson was a bit unsure about leaving Merida but she assured him she would be fine and of he went to Salem.
The sorting necklace took its time with Jackson, seemingly unable to decide which house would do him justice. He was smart enough for Wormwood, friendly enough for Belladonna and mischievous enough for a Nightshade. In the end, the necklace chose the third though Jackson doesn't know why. He has however come to love his house like all Nightshades. He's met cool people, been given the run of the school under the protection of Nightshade stealth and is a generally likable lad even if one who doesn't always show up to things on time. Jackson has a perpetual habit of running late to things be it class, games, meetings with friends, appointments with teachers. Its a commonly known fact that Jackson Blake can never be on time for anything.
Jackson hopes to one day do something to put his town on the map because he thinks such awesome people deserve recognition. He also has a healthy love of exploring and adventure and a developing fondness for scotch which most of his peers don't understand at all. Jackson isn't immune to the female form either but prefers to be more selective than his more gluttonous classmates. If girls were a meal, Jackson would rather stick with one or two good dishes than scarf down everything on the table.

Family Background:
Merida Blake was an "outsider" to the town when she first arrived as a sixteen year old refusing to speak of her past. Like all small towns, this one gossiped about her and launched many speculations as to the young woman's origin but in the end they accepted her into their midst. Merida was happy in her little town and that happiness turned to love when she met her boyfriend who subsequently left her pregnant with twins three months later. Merida has never tried to track him down, saying its his own loss for never having gotten to know Summer(for the short time she lived) and Jackson, who is unmistakably the apple of her eye.
