Couples Do This, Right? (Jari) Empty
PostSubject: Couples Do This, Right? (Jari)   Couples Do This, Right? (Jari) EmptyWed Oct 15, 2014 3:22 pm

It had been a couple of weeks since interrogation. Jake's shoulder had fully healed, and the Healers had told him that there wouldn't be any lasting damage to his stomach or his shoulder. Jake hadn't been too worried about that, if he was honest, it had stopped hurting by the morning after, though he'd not bothered to go to work, Marilyn had left and Jake had gone for a walk, a very long walk to get his head back together.

Though, he was quite sure the experience would last for a longer time than he wanted it to.

Since then, Jake had uttered the three words that had rushed to from his lips the night of their interrogation twice. Not because he was as scared of saying them now, but because he wasn't overly sure on how often was too often, or whether this was still much too soon. Jake didn't want to say it and push Marilyn away, but equally he didn't wish to not say it and have the witch think he hadn't meant it the first time. Both time had been as they led quietly in bed. Both still awake enough to register the words being whispered, but so softly that Marilyn could just pretend they hadn't happened if she wasn't comfortable.

It was just a learning curve, for him.

The weekend had come around, and after a very complicated dance lesson, the duo had decided on calling it a night early. So after Jake had showered, leaving Marilyn to get herself ready for bed, he'd climbed in to bed with the latest edition of Quidditch Weekly. Ignoring the full page advert he was on for the latest Quidditch wear, Jake skipped to the news on the Harpies, reading up on the profile of their newest addition to the squad.

Flipping the page, Jake took in the tips on maintaining your broom to a high standard and made a note that he needed to go flying again soon. But basically, he was lost in the world he'd left in Canada, oblivious to most things, but with a small smile on his face.

PostSubject: Re: Couples Do This, Right? (Jari)   Couples Do This, Right? (Jari) EmptyWed Oct 15, 2014 4:18 pm

Since the interrogation; since Jake had told her he loved her, two weeks had passed. And since then he'd said it twice. And while Marilyn's heart had surged everytime and she'd said it back each time she still shyed from saying it, because she didn't want to bother Jake, stupid as that sounds. But the witch had said it, in sex she'd said it before finishing once and once when they'd been cuddled together in the couch, whether he'd said it back she hadn't registered, too preoccupied by the situation or falling asleep soon after saying it, respectively.

And with that hurdle jumped an idea had come to Marilyn- Well, that was a lie. She'd admitted it then, but it had been dawning on her for a few weeks prior, really. She just didn't know when to talk about it, or even how.

So that evening, coming back from dance class they'd decided to call it a night earlier than usual, not with the intention of sleeping, but just to relax, read or something for a while in bed.

Having let him shower first Mari now got ready and washed up, her hair in a braid out of her face and had one of the nicer nighties she owned on. Before coming to bed she called out and asked if he wanted anything which ended up with her brewing him a tea and herself a hot chocolate, smiling when she slowly walked in the door to their- her bedroom.

"Hey love," she smiled, sauntering over to his side on barefeet and handing him the white mug with a smile before bring her tiger mug to her own bedside table and climbing onto the bed. But she didn't get under the covers, instead sitting criss-cross and grabbing one of her star maps and began highlighting constellations that would be visible soon.

But she didn't do that for long, because the idea was somewhat nagging.

"Jake?"

"Hey love,"

"Mmhmm." Jake replied softly, looking up only enough to take his cup as he tried to keep his place on the article. With a soft thank you, Jake continued reading, making faces at the page when he agreed or disagreed with something that was written. He was amused with some of the advice, because he knew it was complete crap.

"Jake?"

"Yeah?" Jake replied softly, looking up slightly from his magazine before remembering and putting his tea down to flip the page. "Look, I made it in to Quidditch Weekly again!" He told the witch, the grin on his face showing he was quite happy with the picture. "That means I get a bonus this month!" He told the witch happily, flipping back to the page he had been on a moment before.

"Look, I made it in to Quidditch Weekly again!"

Mari smiled slightly, only glancing at the pic before forcing her eyes away, determined to not be distracted by the unfair hotness of the man beside her. So she turned in her seat to face him, still crossing her legs, "That's great, Jake." she bit her lip.

"I was wondering something..." Marilyn began, "It's just that, you're almost always here- and that's brilliant. Sometimes I forget you don't technically live here and I was just wondering, I mean you don't have you and if this totally freaks you out we can pretend I'm asleep and this is me sleep-talking, but I was just wondering what you'd think about, ehm, about actually living together." She managed to bring out, though quick to add for fear of being misunderstood.

"I mean, you don't have to move in here, we could get another flat if you wanted- if you even want to. And I know this stuff takes time because of immigration and papers and I mean, I'm not assuming you'd want to move to England, we both work for the British Ministry, so it'd make sense, but I'm not saying you have to and please feel free to interrupt me at anytime now, because I'm digressing like hell, so if you want to go with the 'pretend you're sleeping, Marilyn'-bit by all means say so now." The witch let out a deep breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding whilst going off on a tangent.

"That's great, Jake."

Raising his eyes to the witch, Jake grinned, oblivious to the fact the witch was evidently trying to get something across as she looked at him. He'd never been overly big on showing these things to people, but with his girlfriend, he didn't think it would be too bad to show off a little bit.

Jake listened to the whirlwind of information that Marilyn came up with, his magazine slowly moving down until it rested in his lap and his eyes moved to Mari. There was mild confusion there, only a little, as to why the witch was getting worked up. As silence finally fell over the witch, Jake allowed a short pause, taking in everything that had been said.

"You... want me to move in permanently?" Jake asked, coming to terms with the notion. Closing his magazine and turning to face the witch, Jake bit his lip. The question was one he hadn't been ready for, but then he figured that, really, it wasn't going to make much change to their dynamics. It... would just mean that it was more permanent.

"I... I'd like that." Jake told the witch softly, a small smile playing on his lips. "But..." He held the word a little longer than was ever necessary. "You're going to have to help me with all the immigration paperwork." He settled as his sway on the decision.

Leaning over to the witch, Jake pressed his lips to hers. "But you're going to have to relax and not look like you're going to explode first." He whispered against her lips, slightly teasing, but knowing this was difficult for both of them.

"As to where, you can choose." Jake insisted, because he really didn't mind.

"I... I'd like that." Jake told the witch softly, a small smile playing on his lips. "But..."

Marilyn's eyes lit up at the affirmative but slight worry clouded her expression at the 'but'. Worry over nothing, as it became obvious when he finished the sentence and the witch huffed, a smile betraying her relief as she grabbed her pillow and, carefully, whacked him with it, laughing.

"Don't do that! You ass!" she kissed him back, unable to keep the grin off her lips, "I am relaxed, now," Mari replied, "and I'm happy you want to move in." Her lips closed the distance between them again and she moved to lay on her stomach, supporting her upper body on his chest gently.

"I was just nervous, I didn't want to freak you out,
" the explanation wasn't accusatory, simply explaining in a gentle, light manner, letting her fingertips draw shapes on his chest, "I'm never sure what's okay and what's going to push you away. And..." she pressed a kiss where she'd just drawn a heart, "I love you." Mari smiled.

"Don't do that! You ass!"

Jake couldn't help but grin at the witch as she told him off before kissing him. How he was supposed to learn when he got such rewards. Allowing Mari to push him back in to the pillows. "I'm sorry." He mumbled as he wrapped his arms around the witch, cuddling her close.

"I was just nervous, I didn't want to freak you out,"

"I'm fine, honest. I think... I think we are at the right time. I mean, we're comfortable enough to do this." Jake admitted softly, watching her fingers moving over his chest with a small smile on his lips.

"I'm never sure what's okay and what's going to push you away. And..." she pressed a kiss where she'd just drawn a heart, "I love you."

Jake smiled at that, his fingers moving to caress her cheek gently. "I love you too." He responded very softly, moving to lift the witch up to his level so that he could kiss her gently. "What would you like to do, about a flat? Would you like to stay here? Or would you rather get somewhere new? I... I have money that I can put towards another one, or give to you to buy the flat with you."

Jake didn't know what was easier, or what was the right way to do this. Money wasn't an issue for him, behind the scenes he had millions. He just knew that whatever happened there would be solicitors and banks involved and a headache full of paperwork.

The giddy smile on her face gave away that she was the opposite of irritated by his actions. Marilyn adored him, them, just the way they were. It felt natural.

"I love you too."
Mari grinned and kissed him back just as affectionately and sweetly as he had started the kiss, leaning her features against his gentle palm, eyes locked on his before he asked her how they would want to go about this. Humming in thought she continued to press soft kisses to his jaw and cheek, contemplating.

"Well, I'd prefer we stay in England, and as comfortable as I am here I want to start this with you in a place that's ours," the with mused, "And since you aren't exactly penniless," she teased lightly, "and I have unlimited resources through my name we can probably both easily just go 50/50 on buying a new place."

"Well, I'd prefer we stay in England, and as comfortable as I am here I want to start this with you in a place that's ours,"

Jake had known before she said anything that it would be England. Marilyn was settled here, she had work here, and she had her family here. Jake knew that America probably wasn't where she wanted to be, and quite honestly the difference between England and Minnesota was of little consequence to Jake. The only difference was the fact there was less snow, which suited him quite fine.

The notion of money was one that Jake stayed away from. He hadn't told Marilyn how much money he had, both because he knew it was probably nothing in comparison to the fortune she had, and she probably wasn't interested anyway. But Jake could easily afford a flat out right, so a fifty percent share would be nothing.

"That sounds fine to me." Jake told the witch softly, enjoying her attention as he sat back. "I'll ask my agent to get some funds together, and you can look for somewhere you like." Jake told her, he wasn't overly bothered with what the witch chose so long as she was happy with the place, he would be too.

"We'll look together," She murmured, pulling away only briefly so she could slip under the covers and comfortably resume her position on top of him, the pads of her fingers gently running down his temple to his jawline, "it's going to be our home, I want you to love it, too."

Marilyn placed a gently kiss to his lips before snuggling into his arms, her head resting on his shoulders, "I'm so happy right now," the witch admitted softly,

"I don't think I've been this happy before, thank you," her doe eyes flickered up to his warmly when she spoke, "This, us, feels right."

As Mari corrected him, Jake simply shrugged. "It'll be fine." Jake told her softly. "But I'll come and look if you want me to." But, he didn't press his presence, a house was a house, if she was happy, he was happy.

However, Jake didn't think it would be that easy.

"I don't think I've been this happy before, thank you," her doe eyes flickered up to his warmly when she spoke, "This, us, feels right."

Jake simply nodded, pressing his lips to the top of her head. There was nothing he had to say, he was okay with this, he was happy, but he wasn't going to go cliché. Instead he simply held the witch to him, hoping he could show rather than say that this was okay with him too.
