A new start. (open)

Thana had finally arrived at Salem, her transfer finalised. She arrived by train and went to her house, Wormwood. Thana walked up to the second floor and found it, thankfully she had been able to keep her prefect status. She was the Wormwood Prefect now, she didn't take up her quidditch position again though. She wasn't ready for that.

Thana walked to her room and quickly unpacked, it wasn't that different to her old one in Hogwarts really. She unpacked and then went down to the common room, waiting for the others to arrive. She was both nervous and excited about attending her new school.

Thana sat in the common room when someone walked in, saying a brief hello and that they would be right back. She sat and waited.

I'm Michelle Hastings, one of the prefects for this year,"

Thana took her hand, with her gloved one and shook it. "Thana Semele, I'm the other prefect. Looks like we're room buddies" She replied, glad that she wasn't the only prefect anymore. "Nice to meet you, sixth or seventh year?" She enquired of the girl.

"Hello, I'm Alec House."

Thana looked around a saw where the name came from, a younger boy. "Hey there Alec, I'm Thana." she replied, pulling out a bag of Fantails. "Would either of you like one?" she offered, then she remembered the name from her timetable. "Are you Professor House's son?" she asked the younger boy, he seemed a bit nervous. To be honest so was she. It wasn't easy comin to a new school. Or starting a new year for that matter.

"No thank you. I had to much candy on the train and I have a lot of Muggle candy in my suitcase."


"Well your lucky, I have to smuggle mine in!" Thana replied, "Its not too easy either....But the hardest part is keeping my iPod charged.....managed to do it though!" she said, this little guy was cute.


Uh yeah. He's the new Muggle Studies Professor."


Thana nodded, "Cool, well looks like we are going to have a lot in common" she replied. This was going to be an interesting year.

Thana listened as Michelle spoke, " yeah and purebloods who were raised as Muggles" she thought out loud. " So what teachers should I look out for?" Thana asked both of them, she didnt know what ones were nice and what ones weren't .

She sat down in one of the chairs, they weren't like the Ravenclaw ones at all, the Ravenclaw ones were more firm. Not soft like these ones, or at least the one Thana sat in.

Thana looked at Alec, it seemed funny actually that the two prefects had no idea who the good and bad teachers were " well I have a habit of getting on with the more grouchy ones, especially the ones that don't allow too much joking around "Thana replied, it was true.

Thana nodded in agreement to Alec " Well he certainly sounds interesting, don't worry We will try to be good prefects! Give me about a week and I shall be running on full steam. I just need to get to know the teachers, some I already do because they teach both here and Hogwarts" Thana explained, "

" Well I think that its going to be an interesting year, if you ever need anything Alec. Just come to me or Michelle" she said, Thana already liked this boy. He was cute and adorable and nice.

Thana listened as Michelle spoke, " alright I know a few of them which is lucky. Anyway I have some things to go do, Michelle are you right to stay with the kids?" She asked, " I won't be long, an hour at most"

Thana got up and quickly dusted herself off, readjusting her already iron perfect clothing. Then walked out of the common room, leaving Alec and Michelle too it.

Michelle looked at Thana. "Sure I can handle it by myself for awhile. Don't worry," she said there now with a smilw now. "Take so much time as needed," she added then.

She now looked at Alec and smiled. She wasn't sure what to say or ask now there. "You know where everyone else is?" She managed to ask after few minutes silence between them.
