CoMC Lesson 1 (4th-7th Years)

Kira was quite excited for this lesson, especially because she wanted to have it last year. She hoped her students haven't forgotten about dragons yet. The witch had a box, filled with the dragon figurines again and in her bag, she had the papers some of her students did last year. It was good being back, even though she had an amazing summer.

Louise made her way over the grounds to the area allocated for care of magical creatures, she'd never been to a lesson before but this year was different. She spotted Josh before entering the area and skirted around him so she stood within hearing distance of the teacher but had plenty of space between herself and him. She was still seething angry with him, not that she could show him that or she'd be in trouble. She wanted to hex him to oblivion but that would be 'bad form' and 'not very ladylike.' She'd think of something just not right now, she was after all in a lesson. She kept her bag on her shoulder and waited quietly for the lesson to begin.

It was much too beautiful of a day to be held up in the common rooms, which is the main reason JC found himself heading towards the school grounds for a Care of Magical Creatures lesson. He didn't have anything better to do, and he "needed to diversify his education if he ever hoped to get a decent job". At least that's what his father had been drilling into his head the final two weeks before school started.

He noted that once again the first students in the class were fellow Slytherins, and that the girl was trying her hardest to stay away from Josh. He made a mental note of this before finding a nice solid tree to lean against. "Good morning everyone," he said in a chipper tone to both the professor and the other ztudents.

Lucy had decided to take Care of Magical Creatures because it seemed like a fun class to take. She felt that it'd be both useful and enjoyable to learn about magical creatures, because there were so many strange and wonderful things in the wizarding world that she wanted to understand.

She walked to where the class was gathering, hoping that the lesson would be beneficial and that she would enjoy it.

Cassidy loved Care of Magical Creatures with a passion. Learning about all those weird creatures was so fun, and there was really so much to learn. Not only that, but the abilities that the magical creatures had, they were just fantastic. She made her way to the area that the class was meeting and grinned "Hi Professor Reid," she said.

Alyson walked to Care of Magical Creatures. The blonde had grown to like it in the past year, the Professor wasn't a bad person and Alyson could tell that she had real potential. It was weird because not a lot of people liked the new Professors because they were used to their old ones, but Alyson knew the Professor was getting along with everything and everyone. Alyson got to the class and saw a few familiar faces.

Her first ever Care of Magical Creatures class had not gone so well, and she hoped that this time, she wouldn't have another such... encounter. Arriving in the field, she looked around, seeing no animals or creatures nearby. Making her way closer to the Professor, she gave her a smile. "Hello Professor Reid," she greeted. "What will we be learning today?"

Bryson didn't really want to be late for his first class back to school, if he was, not only would his big sister say something, but his parents would as well and they were Muggles, that was saying something completely insane. When he spotted that the class had yet to begin, he was clearly excited. When Bryson got closer he spotted Brooke, he had talked to Brooke in the summer and liked her, but he wanted to get to know her. The Gryffindor didn't want to rush anything.

"Hey" he greeted Brooke.

Stacy decided to take care of magical creatures class this year. She would like to learn more about them of course. So shw walked now yowards the grounds where it was held. It was good and beautiful day so why not spend it outside. Soon she reached her desintion. And saw there already few people. She stood little bit further from all of them and waited lesson to began.

Kira was quite happy with the turnout and she smiled and greeted all of the students. She had seen some of them last year, but some of them were new to the class and she was happy they decided to come.

"Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a nice summer. Today, we'll be discussing dragons, something that we should have done last year. The lesson was pushed due to the circumstances and I hope you all understand." the witch said and glanced at Josh at the last sentence. She wasn't doing the lesson because of him, of course, but it would be nice if all of her students understood why they couldn't talk about dragons last year.

"You'll be working in pairs and since there's nine of you, the last one is stuck with me. I've got little dragon figurines, that some of you have seen before. Each pair gets one type of dragon and, based on the figurine and what you already know, you'll describe the dragon the best you can. I'll fill in what you don't know." Kira took the box with the tiny dragons in her hands and moved to Josh, who was the first to arrive.

"Mister Murray and Mister Windsor, you get the Hungarian Horntail. Miss Grey and Miss Walters, Romanian Longhorn. Miss Waters and Miss Montez, Swedish Short-Snout for you. Miss Young and Mister Granger, Ukranian Ironbelly for you. Miss Mistle, Chinese Fireball. I'll help you out, unless somebody new arrives."

The figurines were charmed to breath the fire actual dragons would, except it couldn't actually hurt anyone. They also moved and flew around, just as the real dragons would.

At the mention of dragons all colour drained from Louise's face, in fact she was pretty sure all of her blood had suddenly left her body, she felt hollow, like free falling and not being able to see the ground. She did not want to look at another dragon again after that.

She kept hold of her broom in her left arm while she carried the girl in her right, running full pelt at the crowd and got the girl to another Salem student that looked like a prefect. "Take her go!" she handed the girl over, giving her a re-assuring smile before turning around and jumping right back on her broom to go look for other stranded students. However she wasn't expecting to see a dragon on the pitch, it looked unnatural and foul beyond words.

In her shocked state she didn't see the stray bludger still flying around and it collided with her ribs as she took off, landing in front of the stampeding students and teachers. A swift kick to her head had her blacked out instantly and she would know nothing till she woke up.

What on earth was the teacher thinking? Louise could see the large shadow once again, many stories high and made of something so dark it warped the air around her vision, her palms were sweating like crazy and when the beast lifted it's wings and opened it's mouth she couldn't see anything at all, the only sense registering anything was her nose and the smell of grass and dirt before even that vanished.

Kira was barely done talking when she saw a student falling to the ground. It was Louise Grey and the Professor hurried to her side with a gasp. She remained calm on the outside for the sake of other students, but she was screaming profanities in her mind.

When she reached the girl, she placed two fingers on one of her wrists, like she was taught to do in a Muggle class once. She could feel a faint heartbeat and she breathed out in relief. It hasn't come to worst, like she thought it has for a second.

She stood up, quickly took the figurines out of the box and then transformed the empty box into a stretcher. It wasn't the best, because she was very stressed, but it was strong enough not to collapse. Slowly, she levitated Louise on to the stretcher and made sure she was still alright.

"I'm taking Miss Grey to the Hospital Wing. Miss Walters and Miss Mistle, you two can pair up. I don't care which dragon you choose, just choose one. Prefects, you're in charge. No funny business until I return."

Kira then gently levitated the stretcher with the girl on it and walked back to the castle. She was walking fast, but she was being very careful, as she didn't want anything else to happen to Louise.

Thana walked in to COMC just to see a poor girl collapse. "Prefects your in charge" the teacher said carrying the poor girl out on a stretcher. She looked around and saw ..Josh Murray, another prefect. Somehow they still hadn't managed to talk. Probably because she was still new, technically. She had come from nowhere at the end of the year, and now she was a prefect. She was amazed when she got the letter, but happy nonetheless. She was still psyching Josh out, they had a lot in common, both got bored easily. Both were prefects, and a few other things. But despite all that he was still cocky in her opinion. She walked over and sat down away from the rest of the group, watching as usual.

As the topic and instructions were given, Brooke's eyes lit up. Dragons were something she found rather interesting, and studying them would be amazing. Just as she was about to walk over to her partner, she saw the Slytherin pass out, and only then did she remember what Scarlett had told her about the Quidditch match.

"I'm taking Miss Grey to the Hospital Wing. Miss Walters and Miss Mistle, you two can pair up. I don't care which dragon you choose, just choose one. Prefects, you're in charge. No funny business until I return."

Realizing she was a Prefect, Brooke was about to step forwards, but saw that Josh had already done so. Maybe it would be best to let a more experienced prefect handle things, she thought. Turning to Stacy instead, she smiled. "Which dragon would you prefer?" she asked.

"So, who thinks the real things are actually here? More dragons, like the ones the Black Widows use? Hmm...?"

She frowned and looked around the area, hoping no one else would faint or panic. What in Merlin's name was Josh trying to do? Surely their Professor had not meant this when she put the prefects in charge. "There's no way," she blurted out before she could help it. "An actual dragon would not be brought onto school property for a class." She stopped and bit her lip to prevent her from saying anything else, wondering what would happen.

Thana heard what Josh said, smiling to herself. Then she heard Brooke step and speak, she agreed with Brooke. But it would be nice to have some fun with the other kids. "I don't know Brooke.........A dragon could come past at any moment, I am sure they have them around here " she said. Before quickly turning around, she let her Isolde flow for around three seconds. Focusing hard on a dragon, she let the dragon take form from her Isolde. She turned around and let the fun play itself out. A dragon suddenly appeared on top of everyone, flying overhead. It was a Romanian longhorn, the illusion. Thana watched as people started to freak out, she smiled to herself before getting rid of the illusion, making the dragon fly away before disintegrating.  She hoped no one saw her funny trick, but she couldn't help but smile at the other people. Hopefully she even got one up on Josh, but she doubted it. She figured he would know an Illusion when he saw one, even if it wasn't like other illusions.  She watched over everyone making sure they weren't actually hurt. It was funny, but she still had to be safe.  She stood back and looked around, waiting for the reaction from other people.

Alyson listened to the pairs and she looked over at the Slytherin girl. The blonde Gryffindor had no problem working with anyone who wasn't in her house. Some people would take a fit but not her, as long as she passed the class with no problem it didn't matter. Alyson walked over to Lucy. "Hey, so what do you know about our rightful dragon?" Alyson asked. Alyson knew a few things, not a lot.

Bryson saw what had happened and felt bad for Brooke, it caused him to not really think about it much and Bryson walked over to his partner Cassidy. The Gryffindor prefect hoped that his fellow prefect and friend was okay. "Hi Cassidy" Bryson greeted. He looked around before looking back at the girl. "What can you tell me about our dragon?" He started.

Shiva knew she was late and felt terrible for not being able to wake up right away like she used to the year before. The Hufflepuff was so nervous about coming back to school even though she had been attending Hogwarts most of her life. Shiva walked towards the class and didn't have any idea what was happening or what was being taught.

Stacy heard what professor said about partners and she was ready to go hers dragon but then she saw what happened with Louise and also her what professor said next.

When Brooke walked to her and asked which dragon they should choose now, then she had no idea. "I'm not sure. I don't know nothing about any of these dragons so I can't really choose. What about you?"

When she heard what Josh asked then she just rolled her eyes. "Brooke is right," she told then. "But what you did have in mind now, some stupid idea?" she asked then from that Josh basically. She didn't care if she gets in trouble because of it now or not.

Thana heard Josh's comments, but didn"t care. She had her fun anyway, she didn't care what he thought of her she didn't like him that much anyway. " lets see you figure out how I did it" she whispered to herself, she smiled and sat back. She didn"t have a partner yet, but she didn't mind. Thana knew all about dragons already, and she knew where a few real ones were. Not that she would tell anyone where they were, but she liked them anyway. " I hope we some some hard stuff soon" she muttered to herself , she was already bored with classes, and it was only the first week back! She leant against the stonework and waited for something else to happen.

Kira gave Louise over to the Healer's competent hands and explained the situation and then hurried back to her class. It wasn't the best idea, to leave her students alone, if only for a few minutes. She ran back to her class and noticed she should start working out, as she was out of breath before she reached them.

She saw two girls had come when she was away and she smiled at both of them. "Miss Joilet, Miss Semele, you two can pair up. Peruvian Vipertooth for you." she said, fishing out the figurine and passing it to the Ravenclaw Prefect.

"Do you need more time or have you come up with anything yet?" Kira asked her students, hoping they have figured out some things about their dragons already.
