Personality: Arrogant and confidant to a fault, cool and calm, charming and easy spoken. Calculating and contemplative, intelligent and cunning. Silver tongued and two faced. In public he is well mannered and polite, maybe a little sarcastic, in private he can be spiteful and quite brash, depending on the company of course. Quite bull headed and not easily swayed when making decisions. When faced with adversary he shows no fear, only stubborn determination till he gets his way. Pretty much out for himself and rarely sticks his neck out for others unless it's of personal gain to him. The only person who ever saw real kindness from the man was Tessa Grey, his younger sister.
Background: Growing up in London he was well looked after by his parents and was very close to his Sister Tessa. If he ever did anything Tessa would be the first to know, he doted on her while growing up and told her everything he knew once he'd been at Hogwarts a few years, on the first day his sister joined him he spent the time to introduce her to other first years. However during school he drifted away from her little by little.
At Hogwarts he was sorted into Gryffindor house through stubbornness, though he certainly showed more Slytherin attributes. He'd heard stories of that house that put him off being placed there. He went through friends like sweet wrappers, never staying with the same group for more than a month. He rarely had enemies though despite this habit, he smooth talked the girls and played along with the boys just enough to stay in their good graces.
Once he'd left Hogwarts he did a little temp work at the Ministry and at the Daily Prophet, the opportunities for travel were what drew him in, taking him glob trotting until his late twenties. At a brief stay in Cardiff he met with a young woman, a Muggle. He stayed around for a while and convinced the woman to Marry him after discovering she was carrying his child after a few months of them meeting. However settling down was never part of his plan so he obliviated memories of himself from Amanda and left her alone to raise their daughter Louise.
