Personality: Tris is a very adventurous girl, though she wasn't always. She used to be very shy and reclusive before she learned she was a witch. Learning she was a muggleborn witch gave Tris a newfound confidence, which enabled her more adventurous side to reveal itself. Although she is more adventurous, Tris retained her love of books.
Background: Tris was born to Natalie and Andrew Prior on December 7th, 1996. She is Natalie and Andrew's second child, after her older brother, Caleb, who was born the same year, in January.
Growing up, Tris was very shy and reclusive, she didn't have very many friends at her muggle school, and was more interested in reading her books rather than attaining friends, her brother was much more popular at the muggle school than herself. As she grew older, random occurrences began happening, such as various vases exploding on their own when Tris stood near them.
The summer after Tris turned 11, she finally got an explanation as to why she was causing these things to happen, she found out she was something called a muggleborn wizard, and has been attending Salem Academy ever since.
Tris being a witch caused a bit of disruption in her family, Caleb seemed to resent her because of the fact that he didn't have the same abilities as she did, and soon his resentment began to show, to the point that he hasn't talked to Tris since she began attending school.

Family Background: Natalie and Andrew Prior met in high school, at first they harbored a deep hatred for each other, but soon the two fell in love, despite their initial hatred. Their family has been in Chicago for as long as they can remember.
When Natalie and Andrew were 28, they had their first child, a son named Caleb, in January of 1996, then at the end of that year, they had their Daughter Tris, in December of 1996.
As far as they know, Tris is the only person in their family's history that is magical.
