NOTE: This is an AU thread where all characters are 4-6 years old, feel free to post here and interact with each other as children disregarding your character's geographical location or canon age. This is just a park where the child found him/herself and plenty of other children to play with.

Have fun, everyone!

5 years old

The outside world looked so tall when she went out, but then again everything looked tall to Azalea. Tall and big and scary. But Kit, no dad, she had to call him dad now, said it would be fun. Azalea didn't really know what fun was but it it meant going out of her room and away from the orange seeds she was secretly growing under her bed, then the little girl didn't like "fun" very much.

Clara had said she could play with other children in the park and Azalea hadn't been sure how to tell her that other children couldn't play with her. Azalea didn't talk much and other children talked a lot. And when Azalea did talk, she talked about things that no one wanted to listen to.

Hugging Mr. Cacti close to her, the five year old quietly stepped away from the bench towards the swings. Azalea didn't want to swing, they looked scary. But the group of children playing on the slides looked even scarier.

At least she had Mr. Cacti, he would chase away anyone who tried to bully her, the little witch thought as she took one more step towards the swings, her eyes nervously flitting around the playground.

Louise hated apparition she decided, it felt awful and she felt sick until they appeared near a children's park. Her Daddy was taking her out for the day, which she had looked forward to since she didn't see him much. She looked up at him from where her face had been hidden in his jacket and he smiled back down at her before placing her on the ground. "Go and have fun, Daddy will be right over here alright?"

She pouted, she thought he'd be playing with her not letting her go off on her own. She looked around and spotted another girl by the swings holding a green thing. Since everyone else seemed to be fighting over the slide she ran up to the girl on the swings and climbed into the second seat and smiled. "Hello." She beamed trying to see what the girl was holding as she began to kick her legs making the swing rock back and forth.

5-year old Mary McNeely
Island of Misfit Toys - OPEN to anyone who is sick of being an adult 429px-Kira

Visiting Aunt Emma for the weekend seemed so exciting until she got there. There weren't any toys and Mary soon read all the books she brought with her. She wanted to play with legos, but her Mom forgot to pack them and Aunt Emma didn't have them.

After getting some ice cream, Aunt Emma proposed going to the park. She said there'll be other children there to play with and even though Mary preferred to play alone, she was very bored and so they set out to the park.

Mary was still eating her ice cream when they reached the playground and she was being very careful not to drip any ice cream on her new dress. It was a gift from Aunt Emma's friend and the girl didn't want it to get dirty. She didn't want to approach the group of screaming kids, one of them was bound to bump into her and she was still holding the cone. Instead, the little girl walked over to a girl standing next to the swings.

"Hello! I like you cactus." she said, smiling. There was another girl on the swings and Mary waved to her.

Azalea had approached the swings slowly, almost expecting someone to run and push her down to get to them faster but everyone else was too busy playing and doing the fun thing Clara was talking about. The small, brown haired witch had sat on the swing quietly, not daring to actually swing in case it attracted attention.

Well, that and she wasn't sure if Mr. Cacti would get sick from the swinging motion. Some girls at playschool had laughed at her and said Mr. Cacti wasn't a real doll but Azalea liked him better than all the dolls and teddies.

"Hello."

"Hello?" Azalea echoed, head cantered to one side as she looked at the other girl who was effortlessly swinging on the other swing. Before she could say anything else, she saw another girl coming towards them, this one had ice cream, the kind Azalea really liked.

"Hello! I like you cactus."

"I'm Azalea," she tried like Kit - no dad - had taught her to. Azalea made sure to look at both girls so they knew she was talking to both of them. She didn't' want any of them to feel left out, it didn't feel nice when people did that to her at playschool

"And this is Mr. Cacti," she added, nodding to the stuffed cactus  she held close to her body. "He only talks to me."

"I'm Louise. Mister cacti looks cute." She smiled brightly showing she was missing one of her upper front teeth as she pumped her little legs harder, swinging higher and higher on her swing and getting her hair all caught up in her face.
She smiled at the other girl too after trying to sweep her hair off her face and waved back. She was quite happy now that her daddy brought her here, she looked around and spotted him smoking a pipe and reading a newspaper by the gates, she waved over to him and he gave a nod and smile to her before reading the papers again.

Island of Misfit Toys - OPEN to anyone who is sick of being an adult Customertuxvest

The park was disgusting. Josh did not like the park, it was full of common people who were not worth his time. Solitude had become a priority on Josh's mind from a young age, and as his nanny led him towards the park, the Murray heir was becoming more irritable. Not only did he have to put up with being away from his toys of much grander splendour than this silly park.

He had to put up with other children.

Where his nanny had gone, Josh didn't care as he toddled in to the park, looking around at all the common play things that were beneath him. A congregation had formed around the swings, so the boy had decided to make it his business to see what was going on. Moving around the play area, Josh neared the group of girls, but he didn't speak. Just watched with the hardened gaze he'd learnt so long ago.

If there was anything worse than children, it was girls.

And there were always girls at gatherings.

Who wanted to play.

And not leave him alone.

Strange things.

"Nice to meet you Azalea and Louise. I'm Mary." The five year old introduced herself with a broad smile, just like she was taught to do when she met somebody new. It was very important to make a first impression, her Dad always said.

She nodded seriously when Azalea said Mr. Cacti talks only to her. "He must love you very much." Mary knew how things like that worked, she had a pretty doll at home that made her happy when she was sad. Ice cream made her happy as well, and chocolate. And books. Books were very nice and comforting even when she wasn't sad.

A boy came near them, but he didn't speak. Maybe he was shy. Mary smiled at him and walked over to him. She wanted to make as much friends as possible, because she wanted to visit Aunt Emma again. Having friends in the city where her Aunt lived would certainly be nice.

"I like your suit. My cousin wore something like that on my Mom's and Dad's wedding." the little girl said, trying to compliment him. "Are you coming from a wedding?"

Island of Misfit Toys - OPEN to anyone who is sick of being an adult 9k=

It was noisy and full of other kids and Idella loved it, she loved making noise, chasing the big kids away from the slide so the little ones could take turns on it. She was giggling madly chasing Big Bully Benson around the spider wall till he jumped onto the ropes and climbed out of her reach thinking she wouldn't follow him. What he didn't know is she lived in this park day and night so she could do anything and everything in it. She followed him till he gave up and ran to his parents on the other side of the park and jumped down onto the sand, dusting off her hands on her already scruffy looking top.

She went back to the slide to make sure the small kids were alright, she'd taken it upon herself to be the park watcher, it worked well and the adults avoided her like the plague so that suited her just fine.

"Nice to meet you Azalea and Louise. I'm Mary."

Mary seemed nice, as did the other girl, Louise who had a hole in her teeth. Azalea knew about the hole. Silly grown ups said fairies took the teeth but Azalea knew they just fell off and then grew back, like leaves on plants.

Plants were nice. And so was Mary and Louise even if she swung so high it made Mr. Cacti a little dizzy to watch ehr.

"You want to hold him," she asked Mary carefully. Azalea wouldn't trust Mr. Cacti with anyone but Mary was eating ice cream and she looked like she liked Mr. Cacti. And Mr. Cacti looked like he wanted to be friends too.

But then Mary turned away to talk to another boy, making Azalea look at him curiously. He didn't talk, which was a good thing she supposed. He looked like he came from a picture book, not a normal house.

Curiosity overtook the witch as she watched Mary bravely talk to the golden haired boy.

Island of Misfit Toys - OPEN to anyone who is sick of being an adult 2012-autumn-and-winter-clothing-male-child-boy-baby-cool-with-a-hood-fleece-sweatshirt-outerwear

"Pass it, pass it!" Jake insisted to Henry, waving his arms above his head for the American football. There were no better days than when his dad had the day off, they could play about for ages.

"Alright, go long, Jakey!" Henry called back, smiling to himself as his son turned and ran further away. With that, the ball was launched long. Much too long and Jake was sent scampering after the ball. His eyes were only on the ball.

Nothing else.

So the five year old never saw the swing set coming closer.

Nor the group of people hanging around, conversing. No, Jake didn't see any of them as he careered in to someone. And then the two of them hit the floor. Something soft pressed against Jake, and he carefully pushed away. "I'm sorry, playing ball. Not looking. Good thing your teddy stopped the fall. 'm'Jake." He told the girl excitedly, not seeing the harm too badly as he looked at the girl beside him with a big grin.

The Mary girl looked distracted and Louise followed her gaze to a blond boy in a suit, she looked at him oddly, you didn't play in your smart clothes, he looked very out of place here. A crash brought her attention back and she saw Azalea and another boy on the floor. She squeaked and jumped off the swing to run up to them, seeing if they were alright. She lifted the boy off Azalea and offered her hand tot he girl with the cuddly cactus. "You alright? Please don't cry." She hated when other kids cried, she'd start crying too seeing them upset or hurt.

Azalea hadn't been doing anything bad, she was just looking, and then someone hit her. The witch closed her eyes in fright as she went down to the ground in the familiar sensation she had mastered all through playschool. People pushing her, people tugging at her hair, people trying to take Mr. Cacti away from her because he wasn't a real doll.

Because she didn't have a real mommy or daddy, just a Kit and Clara.

Azalea made her eyes really big so she wouldn't cry as the boy got up and said something about playing ball. Why did boys have to play with balls anyway. Balls got people hurt, in Azalea's experience.

"He's not a teddy," she tried, picking Mr. Cacti up from the ground and hugging the grass stained cactus to herself. "He's a Cary-ophy-lla -les," she added crossly.

"You alright? Please don't cry."

"Not going to cry," Azalea reassured Louise as the nice girl helped her up. "I'm a big girl, big girls don't cry," the child shook her head firmly, soft brown hair swinging from side to side.

Mary was looking at the nicely dressed boy with interest. She wanted to know everything about him, but mostly why he was wearing a suit to the playground. Before she could ask him anything else, however, she heard a crash behind her. Azalea and a boy were lying on the floor and the boy was chattering on excitedly.

Mary hurried to Azalea and was glad to see that Louise had already got there. Even though they weren't friends yet, the girl was trying to help and that was a very nice thing to do.

"Do you want some of my ice cream? I promise I don't have cooties." She held out her cone, trying to comfort the girl. She knew what it was like to be accidentally pushed on the floor and it was not nice. The last time it had happened, it was in play school and a potted plant blew up, sending pieces of clay and plant everywhere. Mary didn't know why, but she had a feeling her surprise and hurt was connected with the plant incident, but she didn't want to mention this to anyone. And she was sure that if she had had ice cream, the plant wouldn't have exploded. So, it was crucial that Azalea had ice cream right now.

"He's not a teddy,"

"Okay... He's a-"

"He's a Cary-ophy-lla -les,"

The brown haired boy looked at the little girl for a moment trying to comprehend what she'd just said. "I'm sorry, he's a cari-soft-of-of-wys." The word wouldn't form, but Jake looked proud of himself no less, big words were always an achievement.

"Not going to cry,"

"That's good. My mommy always said you shouldn't make girls cry. And pretty girls should always smile." Jake explained, a grin touching his features. "Do you want to play ball with me? I promise nobody will get knocked over!" Jake asked, looking between the girls happily.

"Are you coming from a wedding?"

"No." Josh replied shortly, taking in the girl before him with a look that would look out of place on any other child. "I dress like this, all the time." The cute, innocent sound of Josh's voice was a million miles away from his tone.

In that moment, a kind of crash happened behind them. The young Murray heir began to move forwards at the commotion, hoping to see tears of some kind. Another boy stood up a moment later, taller than him once more which made the blond boy glare slightly. Everyone was bigger than him.

And then there was the girl on the floor. With a stuffed cactus. "Did he hurt you?" Josh asked, moving to put himself between the two children who had fallen together. Looking up at the boy like he wanted to punch him. "You are not... welcome." Josh insisted, trying to stand up taller to make himself look like his father.

Imposing.

Louise smiled seeing her new friend was alright and the boy didn't look like he was going to push anyone over so she just watched for a moment. When the boy in smart clothes walked over she got a confused look on her face, he had been quiet up to now and suddenly telling the clumsy boy with the ball he wasn't welcome. "Hey that's not very nice. It was a accident." She glared at the boy and poked him in the shoulder. "You can't tell him what to do."

five year old lucelia

The park was Lucelia's favourite place. She could laugh and play here, sit around with a smile on her face and flick her already flowing brown locks over her shoulder. At her young age, the Veela side of her wasn't really all that developed and her short temper could often be a little bit hard to get her head around, especially after a particularly bad tantrum that left someone in tears.

Or blood, but that had only happened once.

She made her way over to the slide where a pretty blonde girl was standing alone. Lucelia didn't like it when people were alone. Alone was sad, she thought. Alone was cold and miserable and no, Lucelia didn't do alone. She grinned a toothless grin, her front tooth having fallen out the night before and stuck her hand out. "I'm Luthelia!" she giggled. "Thorry, I can't talk properly today..."

Idella looked away from the slide and smiled as a smaller girl came up to her and took her hand to shake it. "That's ok, I'm Idella. Did you want to go on the slide? I can get you to the front of the line if you like?" She asked and waved up to the kids on the slide, some waved back as they came down in lines of twos and threes all laughing as they skidded off the end into the sand pit.

"Do you want some of my ice cream? I promise I don't have cooties."

Azalea looked up suspiciously at Mary when she held out the ice cream. Ice cream was good, she knew. And Mary was nice too. Mr. Cacti even wanted to be her friend. But you could never be too careful about cooties. Azalea knew some boys who had cooties in playschool and they were disgusting.

"Okay," Azalea smiled at the other girl, holding out Mr. Cacti in return because she didn't want to get ice cream on him. "I'll have a little bit, but can you hold Mr. Cacti for me please?"

"I'm sorry, he's a cari-soft-of-of-wys."

The little witch shook her head, unable to say anything because she was licking the ice cream. it was chocolate and it tasted really good.

"You should apologize to Mr. Cacti," Azalea admonished once she was done with the ice cream. Looking to Mary silently for permission, she passed the ice cream to Louise. Neither of them had cooties so Louise eat the ice cream. Unless she already had the cooties but no, cootie people weren't so nice. "You hurt his feelings and made him trauma - trauma - Traumamized." Azalea had heard a doctor use the word before and had been looking for a chance to use it herself ever since.

"Did he hurt you?"

"Nope," the small witch replied happily as the blonde boy came to stand in front of her. "Just Mr. Cacti but he's going to apologize now."

"You are not... welcome."

Azalea looked curiously between the two boys. Welcome, but the ball boy hadn't even said thank you? The blonde one used funny words, and he wasn't even as tall as her.

"Hey that's not very nice. It was a accident." She glared at the boy and poked him in the shoulder. "You can't tell him what to do."

Azalea just stood, watching Louise bravely go up to the boys, she herself inching closer to Mary and Mr. Cacti. Just in case Mr. Cacti got scared. Azalea wasn't scared, she was only there for her stuffed cactus.

four year old joe astrid

As per usual, Joe was sat in the sand on his own. He was making pretty little shapes, grinning to himself as he built them up gradually higher and higher. The kid had never really been a social butterfly, instead choosing to sit in peace and quiet. Well, mostly quiet anyway. Every so often, he would look around at all the other kids getting on like there was nothing to stop them being best friends in an instant. Well, to them there probably wasn't, but Joe somehow always managed to get teased for keeping his teddy in his hands at all times.

There was a star in front of him at the moment, though to be honest it wasn't exactly very good. Joe was proud of it, though, because he'd done it all by himself. "Mummy will be proud of me," he murmured to himself with a shy giggle, dusting his hands off on his shirt as he stood up. He grimaced a little, trying to get the stuff off him. He hated having sand on him.

It was all itchy

"You hurt his feelings and made him trauma - trauma - Traumamized."

"M'sorry, Mr Cacti." Jake apologised to the inanimate object. His mommy and daddy had always taught him that the best thing to do was to say sorry when you did something wrong. It had been an accident, but Jake hadn't been looking where he was going, so it only made sense to say sorry. "I hope... he gets better." He added, not knowing what traumatized meant but hoping it wasn't too serious.

"You are not... welcome."

The little blond boy in front of him made Jake frown for a moment, trying to understand why he wasn't. "The girls didn't ask me to goooo." Jake replied, moving a couple of steps away to get his ball before coming back. "Means I don't have to go." He concluded, stepping past the little boy without much more in the way of retaliation. Jake never liked fighting, fighting was silly and made people upset.

Upset was never good.

Jake decided to follow the girl to see Mr Cacti, he seemed more fun. "So does Mr Cacti know the girls names? They won't tell me their names." Jake asked the stuffed cactus, hoping he would tell him, afterall, boys stuck together.

Except, for the weird blond boy.

"I'll have a little bit, but can you hold Mr. Cacti for me please?"

Mary smiled and took the stuffed cactus from Azalea. When the other girl was holding her ice cream, she cradled Mr. Cacti carefully, making him as comfortable as possible. It was of the utmost importance that he was alright. After such a fall, he needed to be treated gently and with care.

She nodded to Azalea, giving her permission to pass the ice cream on to Louise. She liked both girls and was sure neither of them had cooties. And even if they would have them, she decided they would be very nice cooties.

The little girl looked at Azalea, impressed that she knew such big words. Even though Mary had no idea what 'traumatized' meant, it sounded important, like one of the words adults used when they had their 'grown-up talks'.

The boy with the ball apologized to Mr. Cacti and Mary smiled at him, happy that he wasn't mean. Saying sorry was very polite and mature, Mommy said so. She was glad that the boy didn't push Azalea on purpose, that would have been wrong.

She turned around to see the blond boy who said he dressed like that all the time come up to them. He talked very boldly to the boy with the ball and she didn't understand why. He said he was sorry and all. Maybe the younger boy didn't hear him say sorry. Yes, that would make sense. Mary wanted to tell him so, but she concluded that the boy with the ball could speak for himself and so she remained quiet.

Azalea moved closer to her and Mary held out her free hand, while still holding Mr. Cactus gently with the other. She wanted the other girl to feel safe and Mary found that holding someone's hand made you feel pretty safe.

Azalea slipped her hand into Mary's quietly, glad that the girl wanted to be her friend too. Mr. Cacti was a great judge of... of caricatures and he had liked Mary from the start and now Azalea did too.

And maybe she liked the ball boy too, because he apologized properly and then came to talk to the stuffed cactus. And he addressed Mr. Cacti by name and didn't call him a teddy or a dolly like the playschool girls.

"So does Mr Cacti know the girls names?

"He does," Azalea giggled, letting Mary hold on to the cactus. "But he only talks to me so i can tell you," she added with a smile. Her teeth hadn't fallen yet so her smile wasn't as pretty as Louise but it was okay.

"My name is Azalea Harrington," she repeated in the way K- dad had taught her. "And this is Mary and over there is Louise and the baby boy, I don't know his name," she frowned softly, trying to recall if the little boy had given a name.

"What's your name?" she asked curiously, her head canted to one side as she looked up at the taller boy.

Island of Misfit Toys - OPEN to anyone who is sick of being an adult 39759
Six year old Brooke Walters

Daddy had just dropped her off and left for work. She saw lots of other kids playing, wondering where she should go. The swings were always fun, but she saw that they were already friends standing there and she didn't want to disturb them. Slides were not something she liked, so that was not something she would do.

Standing there, her hair began to change colour. She still had not learnt how to manage her abilities to change her hair, although everything else was under control. Squeezing her eye shut really tight, she pictured her hair the way she wanted it, long and black. She waited and waited and waited but she did not feel anything happen. She opened her eyes and saw that it was still at her shoulders, bright green and ugly. Sighing, she started to walk around, looking for someone to talk to. Meeting new people was something she liked but she never knew how to start talking to someone.

The notion that the little girl with the cactus was okay made Josh feel better. But he still didn't like the bigger boy with the ball. Nope, he wasn't a nice boy, and Josh would not trust him, not that he would trust anybody. His mother had always been heard to be saying such things to his father. Right after she'd called him worthless.

A word he'd been brought up with a lot, in the Murray Manor.

"Hey that's not very nice. It was a accident." She glared at the boy and poked him in the shoulder. "You can't tell him what to do."

"I think you'll find I can." Josh replied to the girl who had silly teeth before turning away because the girl with the cactus had gone. "I am Joshua Murray. Power is a given." He explained, much like he'd been told again and again whilst he was being taught.

But these people didn't know power, so the little boy started to move off. Josh didn't like people who didn't know power. And none of these people understood. He was sure of that much.
