Personality:
Shawn is one of the friendliest, silliest, most outgoing people you will ever meet. He is always upbeat and cheerful and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. When it comes to his classes he is very motivated and works ahead a lot of the time. There are times though when he becomes a bit quiet and has to be alone, it is because of his empath abilities to feel what others feel. Sometimes it becomes hard for him to distinguish his own feelings when he's around lots of other people.
Background:
Shawn had to deal with a lot of problems from a young age, because of his ability to sense the general emotions and feelings of others. Whenever he is around people he has the general idea what they are feeling, and when he is in crowds or close quarters with people it can be very disconcerting. Even now, with years of practice trying to deal with it, he still has trouble with it and at times will have to leave to be alone if it becomes too much. Most of the time though, Shawn is able to handle it now. At times when the feelings become too much though, it is hard for him to distinguish his own and he gets headaches that are as painful and unsettling as the worst migraines.
When Shawn was only three years old, his father died in a car accident. His mother was in the car but lived through it, but she saw his mutilated body and has never been the same since. She had to undergo years of counseling to cope with it all. Even though Shawn never knew the man, there's a gap in their family that has always been apparent to him.
As soon as Shawn arrived at Hogwarts and was placed in Hufflepuff House like his mother's family nearly always was, he felt like he had found a home. Like so many other students who came to Hogwarts he felt more alive and in touch with the world when he was at the magical school. Despite his odd ability he was able to make friends and fit in, joining the gobstones club as well as a book club. He brings his goofy attitude and his optimism wherever he goes, and people love him for it.

Family Background:
Shawn's father was a muggle who was a dentist before his death. He met his wife when he was twenty years older and doing some traveling around Europe. They fell in love and even though she was a witch and he a muggle they found a way to make it all work out.
Shawn's mother Glenda is a pureblood witch whose family is known for being one of the most respectable Hufflepuff House families around. Nearly all of the Hendersons wind up as Hufflepuffs and most are very successful with whatever they decide to do. His mother is a healer who works at St. Mungo's.
