Personality: Jeremy strives to be the epitome of pureblood control and aloofness, though his ambition for the greater things shines through. He has never been one to be denied what he wanted, once he found a way to achieve it. And his love life has been the same. He does anything within his power to hide his own past, and to rewrite his own life to that of one he would rather have. Having finally been released from the bonds of a loveless marriage, he is now seeking a way to find meaning in what he’s accomplished in his life. Maybe through children.
Background: Born to a magical mother who had chosen the muggle life to be with his father, Jeremy was raised with love. But he always had a burning desire for more in his life, a deep seeded feeling of entitlement. It wasn’t until he attended Hogwarts, and observed the way the pureblood students lived and acted that he caught a glimpse of the life he wanted. There was something so privileged about their lives, and the connections that came with their family history, that he coveted greatly. Befriending a fellow Slytherin in his year, he grew more and more enamored with the idea of living in such a societal family.
Through his years at school, Jeremy and Clara grew closer, and eventually became an item. Her family did not accept him, overall, but since Clara was the third child, her marriage was less important, and they eventually allowed the two to marry. Over the years, it became clear that their marriage was not one of love, but of ease and convenience. Jeremy was not a terrible husband, but there was no great affection between them. Especially after they found out that Clara was infertile.
Through the years of their marriage, Jeremy was far from loyal. While most of them were one time flings, either muggle or magical, there was one that lasted throughout the years. Not because there was love there, far from it. But there was always something convenient between them that brought them together again and again.
Recently, after a few years of illness that would not quit, Clara finally passed. Jeremy ended up keeping the wealth and connections from the marriage, though he was now free to do as he wished, seen as a minor nuisance to his family in law. Since his wife’s death, he has decided to reach out to his past acquaintances, searching for connections. He’s found a few children from various relationships, and has chosen to reach out to them.
