Early Years
Desdemona was raised with her brother, Artemis, by her mother and father, Mary and Jackson Vega, in Spinner's End, close to the Malfoy Mansion. They lived a good, comfortable life and never had to worry about putting food in their bellies. Mary homeschooled both of the children until they were old enough to attend Hogwarts - Desdemona's brother Artemis won't get his letter until next year, and she promised to send him lots of mail so he wouldn't feel lonely.
Hogwarts Years
The first year Desdemona attended Hogwarts, she was filled with awe at everything she learned and was surrounded by. She had always known magic was real, but now she was going to learn how to control it! She quickly found that she excelled in Potions and that became her absolute favourite class to attend. Her second year went just as well, though Desdemona also found that she liked Defence Against the Dark arts and Herbology as well. She is excited to begin her third year and see what it has in store for her.

Family Background: Desdemona is the daughter of Mary Vega, maiden name Malfoy, who is the daughter of Scorpius and his wife, Arabella. This makes her a direct descendant of Draco Malfoy, and she and her family often spent summers out with their great-grandfather and his wife, Astoria, who always brought Desdemona the sweetest gifts. The Malfoys have been quiet since the war, but not walked on. Slowly and steadily, they have been becoming as prominent as they once were, though not quite so openly dark.
Desdemona's father, Jackson Vega, came from a long line of purebloods that can be dated to medieval England. They all believed strongly that blood should remain pure, and so there were some intermarriages until they migrated out and found other pureblood families to begin families with. Jackson fell in love with Mary at Hogwarts on day one, having both been sorted into Slytherin and with exactly the same classes every year. After they graduated, they married and had Desdemona, and then Artemis, hoping that they follow in their parents' footsteps.
