It was late at night, Lucas had been busy marking his first lot of work. Sighing as he finished, he put down his quill. Already he missed her, Thana. He missed having her in his class, her annoyingness when they were at either one of their houses, he missed having a student to enjoy teaching and healing with. Quietly he sighed again and picked up his quill, she had ignored all of his letters so far but Lucas hoped Thana would finally answer him.

Dearest Thana.
I pray that you will read this letter, as I pray that you may one day reply. How is your new school? Are you enjoying Salem? My class isn't the same without you, having your silent knowing. Even Lady misses you, she has died several times. She misses having you around as well, I heard you made prefect again. Congratulations, I also heard that you put Jareth in his place on the first day. While normally I would tell you not to do that, I am grateful, I hope that he will calm down this year. My window is always open if you want to talk, as is my heart.

~Yours Truly.

Thana had received many letters from Lucas since the beginning of term, sadly they all ended in the same place. Either the bin or the fireplace, she was hurt. She hated that she couldn't talk to him. On several occasions she had written letters, burning each one of them before sending them. Once again she wrote a letter.

Dearest Lucas,
Dear Lucas
Professor Faowind

Hello Professor Lucas
It is good to hear from you, classes are going well

Professor Lucas,
Thankyou for writing, classes are going well.

Thanks for writing.

I miss you too,

I miss us...

By the time Thana had scribbled out over a page she knew she couldn't write, she just couldn't write to him. It hurt way too much, instead she went down to the common room and threw it in the fire. Watching a tear come out of her eye as the letter burned.

Thanks Jules for the sig!
