Christmas Morning (Jari) Empty
PostSubject: Christmas Morning (Jari)   Christmas Morning (Jari) EmptyThu Oct 09, 2014 9:04 am

Christmas morning had come round quite fast, and for once, Jake wasn't being bundled over by Victoria at five a.m. being told to wake up. Mainly due to the time difference that was currently given. After waking up relatively later, Jake had woken Marilyn in a manner he'd found the witch truly liked.

That, had been over an hour ago, Jake had moved to get breakfast ready as he left Marilyn to calm down. It had been more of a thank you than anything, with Jake not taking his own pleasure other than the smile on his face as he'd left the room. Breakfast today was simply toast, Jake had decided as he placed a Christmas card on Mari's tray, along with three presents that followed him carefully. Putting the tray on Marilyn's side of the bed, he carefully placed the three presents around the witch before climbing in to bed next to her.

"Happy Christmas!" Jake told the witch, biting his bottom lip nervously. He had never been very good at Christmas presents, he'd never been good at any presents. But he always tried.

There was a larger box, which contained a brand new potions set (minus a cauldron) for the witch and her experiments. Apparently it was a very good range that was never going to shatter, and cleaned itself impeccably to make sure no contamination could happen.

The second, was something more of a gimmicky gift, one that conveyed his thoughts, without being overly... Jake didn't even begin to think the word. A teddy sat in a second box, above a box of fine chocolates. It was a Me to You bear that held a sign saying "No. 1 Girlfriend" simply because Jake thought the witch should have something... well, Christmassy. Which was exactly why the teddy had a Santa hat on.

The final gift, was something move serious. Personal, perhaps. The second gift she likely wouldn't like, and Jake didn't mind, but as he'd been perusing the store, he'd noticed something else. This had taken him a little more work, not that Jake minded of course. After managing to acquire everything he needed, it had taken Jake a little longer than probably necessary to finalise. After her birthday, Jake had noted that Mari hadn't minded the use of 'yours always' and had carefully engraved the silver keyring himself. Then on the other side, there was a small picture. The picture moved, and was passive to Mari's emotions, so if she was ever down, the miniature version would pull silly faces to make her smile.

It wasn't much, but Jake had tried.

"I hope you like them." Jake added softly, his uncertainty was quite clear, but he really hadn't known what to get her. Everything seemed either... over the top, or not enough. But, it was something, he supposed.

Christmas Morning (Jari) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Christmas Morning (Jari)   Christmas Morning (Jari) EmptyThu Oct 09, 2014 10:23 am

After being awoken in what was possibly now her favorite manner Marilyn was still quite overwhelmed and trying to calm down when Jake left to fix breakfast. She had his presents, two small boxes and a card, under her side of the bed, and she was kind of nervous in regards to her gifts to him, mainly because every time she wanted to do or say something more serious she remembered him telling her he wanted to go slow so she didn't. But this time she'd decided to do it, because things were progressing well. And she couldn't be happier.

So there was quite the surprised look on her face when he came in with three gifts, one of which was a cute cliché teddy bear that read No.1 Girlfriend. Laughing at how cute the gesture was she pulled him in for a kiss after having opened the potions set as well, "Thank you, it's just what I needed. And this-" she lifted the bear with a smirk, "-is fitting, because you are the No.1 Boyfriend." Mari added teasingly before opening the keyring and letting out a small noise of surprise, happy surprise, but definitly surprise.

Attune to her emotions the picture was now gazing at her affectionately and blowing her kisses and Marilyn wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and kissed him soundly, "Thank you, Jake, I love it," and hugging him tightly. Then Mari reached down to pull out two small identical boxes and a card that read

'Jake, to many more Christmas's together. Here's a little something so you can have a piece of me wherever you go. Yours, always and anywhere, Mari'

In the boxes were two sets of goblin made cufflinks that had her initials and his engraved in them, enchanted to have the writing in hers turn white whenever they were apart and she thought of him. It had taken a while to get the charm right, but with help from Felipé, who was a metal charmer, she'd succeeded. Biting her lip as he read and opened the gift Marilyn hoped that she'd picked well.

"Thank you, it's just what I needed. And this-" she lifted the bear with a smirk, "-is fitting, because you are the No.1 Boyfriend."

"Not quite true, but you're welcome." Jake replied softly, accepting the kiss that came with the thank you with a warm smile. It was a huge relief that both of them had gone down well, even if one was a little cliché, the potions set he knew she would use, however, because the witch was always working on something even outside of office hours, not that he minded, of course.

When she opened the keyring, Jake waited patiently to see if she liked it, and was squeezed rather tightly. "You're welcome." Jake told the witch again, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. Now, he was really relieved. The presents were done, seeing as he'd had his the night before.

Jake was about to remind the witch about her breakfast when she produced two small boxes. A hint of confusion touched his features. But he chastised himself quickly, a small smile touching his lips a moment later. Of course she got you something you could keep! He scalded himself as he opened the card. The words were sweet, and Jake pressed a soft kiss on Mari's lips to show he appreciated the words.

With steady hands, Jake opened the first present and smiled as he read their initials on the cufflinks. They looked expensive, but Jake didn't comment on that, opening the second box, Jake saw another set of cufflinks made in a different fashion, but equally as nice as the first. "Thank you!" Jake told the witch, reaching up to kiss the witch. "I'll wear them to work every day." He told the witch, knowing that he needed some new ones, he only had one pair at present, a cheap silver pair that were nothing special. Whether the witch had noticed, Jake wasn't sure, but it was both a romantic present and useful.

Christmas Morning (Jari) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Christmas Morning (Jari)   Christmas Morning (Jari) EmptyThu Oct 09, 2014 4:45 pm

Oh good, he's not freaking out, Marilyn thought, hiding her inner doubts behind a smile and kiss. This kind of thing was becoming easier, no matter that she didn't want to admit it, and it was scaring her.  It was frightening when you stopped struggling to give yourself to someone and started watching all our walls tear themselves down. And man were they coming down.

"I'll wear them to work every day."

"I'm glad," Marilyn's face flushed slightly, "My initials with turn white when we're apart and I'm thinking of you." She spoke relatively quickly, as if unsure and afraid of the impact her words may, or merlin forbid, may not have. Not looking at his face Marilyn turned to levitate three different sized boxes down from the closet to set by their bedroo- her bedroom door. "And those are for your family, don't forget to give them to them when I'm not there. I mean, I'm not sure I can even come, I mean, I know I'm invited, but I- I-" Marilyn took a short breath, "I am rambling." she finished, "Sorry. I mean, I'm not sorry, nothing's wrong, I just..." Marilyn pressed her palm to her forehead and closed her eyes, exasperated with herself, "I just want you to be happy. Whatever makes you happy. It's just...not always very easy."

The rest of her speech she swallowed, not wanting to overwhelm him. Nothing was wrong, Marilyn was just bombarded with how terrifying it was to her, how important his happiness was to her- how essential it was to hers. And it was so hard for her but then he faced her grandfather, easily one of the most dangerous people on this bloody island, just to defend her. And she was having trouble going to his parents house for christmas? Pathetic.

"My initials with turn white when we're apart and I'm thinking of you."

The notion was one that made Jake smile instantly, looking to the witch with eyes filled with happiness, and then cheek as he spoke. "That means they'll always be white then, eh?" He teased the witch, leaning in to kiss the witch.

After that, Marilyn seemed to grow worried, for what reason, Jake wasn't sure. But an explanation, or at least half of one formed a moment later. Without thinking, Jake pulled the witch closer to him, comforting her as he could by pressing a soft kiss on her shoulder. "I am happy, Marilyn." Jake told her, because that was the truth. "And equally, I want you to be happy, so you don't have to come over, if you don't want to. I would like you to come, but I understand if it's asking too much."

His words were much more coherent, soft and reassuring. It didn't matter if Marilyn didn't come, he would see her tomorrow. But he wanted her to come to his parents, because Christmas should never be spent alone.

"And if you don't come, you'll miss out on mom's delicious cooking!" He added to lighten the mood.

"That means they'll always be white then, eh?"

Kissing him back, somewhat comforted and reassured by his apparent happiness and soon again by his gestures, snuggling closer to him and nuzzling his neck when he kissed her shoulder. As he further explained that he just wanted her to be happy and that she didn't have to come if it was too much to ask the witch felt a frown crease her bow and the corners of her lips turned down, "No, it shouldn't be too much to ask." Then she pulled him into a kiss before resting her head on his shoulder, her hands moving to his left hand, playing gently with it until gently intertwining their fingers.

"How about this,"
she ventured, "You go ahead and spend the day and I'll be there for dinner. I promise. That okay?" Having never done anything like this before Mari was unsure what to do when she actually arrived at their house but to make Jake happy she would try... no matter how her stomach clenched at the thought.

Sensing her anxiety the keychain began to pull silly faces at her until she laughed, turning to look back at Jake, "I still prefer this silly face," Mari cupped his face and kissed him tenderly.

"No, it shouldn't be too much to ask."

Jake didn't get a chance to reply as the witch pulled him closer to her, pressing her lips to his. "I just don't want you to think that you have to." He murmured softly. He knew they had agreed to take things slowly, and he was keeping to that, and he couldn't deny Christmas at his house was... well, quite something.

"You go ahead and spend the day and I'll be there for dinner. I promise. That okay?"

"Only if you want to." Jake told the witch softly. "My grandparents will be there too. But they're not as scary as yours!" He teased, allowing a small shrug. "Mom will be happy to see you, and Victoria, of course."

"I still prefer this silly face,"

Kissing the witch back, and trying not to laugh too much, Jake shook his head slightly. "That face is for when I'm not here to make you smile." Jake told her simply, holding her close.

"My grandparents will be there too. But they're not as scary as yours!"

"Nobody is as scary as my grandparents,"
Marilyn reached to take a drink from the glass on her breakfast tray, "Except perhaps myself." The witch added dryly, but with a tiny hint at a smirk, "I want to." she said softly, but genuinly, smiling up at him. "I really do." Cupping his face in one hand she kissed him again, her resolution solidifying. She'd come over for dinner. He'd done it for her, she'd do it for him. She would do this for him. To make him happy. It was Christmas after all, and Christmas was for...happiness.

"That face is for when I'm not here to make you smile."

Another fond smile spread across her delicate features and she hummed her approval, nuzzling his neck gently, "I hope I can make you smile as often as you do."

When Marilyn said she was perhaps scarier, Jake simply laughed at the comment, slowly shaking his head and murmuring that she was not scary. Or, at least she wasn't scary to him, anyway. But as Marilyn said she would come over, Jake smiled, kissing her back gently.

That had been all he wanted, really, but he knew that if she grew uncomfortable, they could head up to his room and just chill out away from the others. It would be fine.

"I hope I can make you smile as often as you do."

"You already do." Jake told the witch, pressing a soft kiss to her lips once more before checking the clock. "I should, however, grab a shower and get ready, because you've wasted the morning, and I need to head off soon, so I'm there when Vic wakes up." Jake told the witch, but he made no effort to move, instead, kissing her softly.

It would stay like that, too, for another half an hour or so, until Jake (incredibly reluctant) got out of bed and headed towards the shower. He'd be home within another half an hour, and ten minutes later, Victoria would be awake.
