Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) Empty
PostSubject: Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina)   Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) EmptyTue Sep 02, 2014 9:10 am

Bea rolled in her bed, sighing. It was well past midnight and she's been trying to fall asleep for what felt ages now. She wasn't used to the bed, to the castle, English food made her stomach uneasy and even though she was exhausted from the train ride and all the speeches at the Feast, she couldn't bring herself to sleep. She sat up, ran her hands over her face and sighed again. A walk might help.

The witch drew curtains away, put on a sky-blue hoodie with a 'B' emblazoned on the back, found her sneakers and walked out of the dormitory as quietly as possible. She hasn't really gotten to know her roommates yet, seeing as it was the first day and she didn't want to make a bad impression by waking them up in the middle of the night. She knew she wasn't supposed to be out of bed after curfew, but she honestly just couldn't stay in her bed. And anyway, it was only the first night and if she got caught, she could say she didn't know the rules yet or that she was just fulfilling her Prefect duties. One of those answers.

As she couldn't leave the castle and it was way too far to the gate from the Ravenclaw tower, Bea walked up the stairs to the Astronomy tower. She remembered the way vaguely from her tour during the summer and she only got lost once before she reached her destination. The walk there was quite nice, even as the torches cast scary shadows on the walls. It made it seem like an adventure and Bea was more than okay with adventures.

She opened the door and a cold gush of wind caught her, making her feel incredibly happy about her decision to wear a hoodie. The cold didn't put her off, though and she walked to the ledge, looking down on the grounds. She could see the lake sparkling in the moonlight, the outline of the Forrest and there was a light in the Groundskeeper Cabin. Bea wrapped her arms around her and smiled. This was her new home. It couldn't compare to Beauxbatons, of course, nothing ever would, but it was nice.

Suddenly wishing she brought a blanket with her, Bea laid down on the floor anyway, folded her arms behind her head and looked up at the stars. At least the sky was the same as in France. She laid there, ignoring the cold and searching for the constellations she knew.

Georgina had never been one for the rules, in fact rules were made to be broken as she'd found out from a very common English saying. It had amused Gina to begin with, but she'd found it to be more and more true as the years passed at Hogwarts. It was partly the reason that nine times out of ten, Gina was out after curfew, dodging prefects and doing exactly what she wanted to do.

Tonight was absolutely no different for that very reason.

Slipping out of her common room, and past the Head Boy on some very, very lucky timings (Merlin knew that boy was dangerous, and Gina stayed well away from him) the witch had finally found the stairs to the Astronomy Tower. The tower had always been a place of solitude for Gina, a place where she could reconcile herself to the person that she was supposed to be. Very few people would know that the witch stood upon the tower going over every single comment she'd made (in her head) in regards to female students she found attractive, ridiculing herself for thinking that such things were okay. Or the idea that being such... a boy was in any way okay either.

No, the Astronomy Tower was Gina's place to put herself back in to the notion of being female, of being a girl, and reminding herself that how she was certainly wasn't okay.

However, tonight would be different, it would seem, because Gina had slipped on to the rooftop to find someone lying in the middle of the stone floor, staring up at the sky. "Bugger it!" Gina cursed more than too loudly, once again proving to herself that she was not in any way going to fulfil the idea of being a perfect daughter. But on second look, Gina realised it was the witch she'd had a very brief conversation with at the ball, and decided to move closer.

Moving to stand before the witch, Gina raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?" She asked, not caring too much if it came across as brash because the weirdness needed to be explained, in her mind. "The prefects will catch you dead easy if you just lie in plain sight!"

PostSubject: Re: Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina)   Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) EmptySun Sep 07, 2014 11:50 am

Bea tensed as she heard someone walk up on the rooftop and he hoped to every deity that had ever existed for the person to not be Head Boy or Girl. Prefects, she could deal with, non-Prefects, as well. But she had a feeling that the Head Boy and Girl took their positions seriously and didn't want to cross their paths. Especially seeing as they would probably take away her badge and that would disappoint her parents. She wouldn't mind the badge being taken away; at least she wouldn't have the responsibilities anymore.

She continued to just lie there and she closed her eyes. Maybe if they thought she was asleep, they wouldn't bother her. Maybe then she could say she was sleep walking. Yes, that was a good plan.

"What are you doing?" She asked, not caring too much if it came across as brash because the weirdness needed to be explained, in her mind. "The prefects will catch you dead easy if you just lie in plain sight!"

The voice was familiar and Bea opened her eyes to see the girl from the Ball. They talked briefly then and the French witch remembered thinking the girl was so hot and pretty and the sight before her eyes now only confirmed that.

She grinned up at her, a hint of mischievousness in her eyes. "Well, see, I could tell them I was doing my rounds and got a bit confused. Je ne parle pas très bien anglais, you see." Bea said, sitting up, so she could see the English witch better.

"And you? I could deduct points, you know." she teased, reaching in the pocket of her hoodie for her badge. The scarlet thing shone in the darkness and Bea put it back in her pocket as soon as she made sure the girl saw it. She was glad she saw the girl again, though. Someone so pretty should be around all the time, Bea thought.

"Well, see, I could tell them I was doing my rounds and got a bit confused. Je ne parle pas très bien anglais, you see."

Gina merely raised her eyebrow at the French, pressing her glasses up her face as they'd slipped slightly from looking down at the witch before her. "I'm pretty sure you said something about not being good at English, but I'm not sure." She admitted with an uneasy smile, despite knowing Italian from her home (something she refused to use as a principle of rebellion) Gina wasn't overly good at languages. But she knew enough. "And, I'm more than certain your rounds don't involve lying down." The witch added sort of smugly as she once again righted her glasses.

Damn and blast these things, Gina thought in frustration.

"And you? I could deduct points, you know."

"You could, but I don't mind if you do." Gina replied cheekily, shaking her head as Beatrice insisted on showing her badge. A show of power? Gina didn't think so. "Though, I will ask if you stole that, you only just got here!" Gina added, shaking her head and sitting down beside the prefect. "But, I guess that's a well done, right? It's normally the kids who swat up, from what I've seen. Or, in the Head Girl's case, from being quiet as a mouse. Not that I have anything against her, she's alright, but we've never spoken.

"But, I'm just out here to clear my head. It's a frequent occurrence. That, however, doesn't mean you can sit up here waiting to get me in trouble." Gina teased with a light chuckle, it wasn't a frequent occurrence for the witch to make light jokes, sarcasm was usually her method of humour.

"I'm pretty sure you said something about not being good at English, but I'm not sure."

"Well done!" Bea flashed a toothy smile. She was really beginning to like this girl, even though this was only the second time they've met. She was incredibly pretty and good lord, those glasses... The comment about her rounds made Bea chuckle, though it didn't distract her from noticing how hot Georgina looked when she righted her glasses.

"Yes, but lying down is so much better than walking up and down those stairs." she replied.

"Though, I will ask if you stole that, you only just got here!"

Beatrice scoffed and shook her head. "As if I'd want it bad enough to steal it. I'm pretty sure I only got it because of my Maman, honestly." she explained, shrugging. "I don't think I deserve it, but I can at least use my powers for evil and cheat the system from within." Bea said in what she hoped was a devious tone and smiled slyly at the girl now sitting next to her. She listened to Georgina talk about the Head Girl with interest.

"I like Tess Holmes." she commented. "Doesn't take bullshit and she's nice enough. Or, at least, that's how she was at the meeting." Bea shrugged.

"But, I'm just out here to clear my head. It's a frequent occurrence. That, however, doesn't mean you can sit up here waiting to get me in trouble."

"Well, there goes my hobby." Bea said, grinning cheekily. "Though this is a good place to clear your mind, I'll admit. We can't go out on the grounds, right?" she asked with a small sigh. It'd be so much better if they could take a walk outside, on the grass and go walk by the lake, maybe take a swim... It was the same at her old school, but Beatrice and a few friends of hers had found a way to sneak out. It was glorious.

PostSubject: Re: Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina)   Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) EmptyMon Sep 22, 2014 3:17 pm

When the Ravenclaw congratulated her on getting the French right, Gina wasn't overly sure whether there was sarcasm in those words or whether it was genuine praise. But the smile looked genuine, so the Hufflepuff returned it good-naturedly. The comment about being led down instead of working was one the girl could concur with. Apart from Quidditch, she didn't do very much else that used energy, because Merlin there were better things to be doing with her time.

Like sitting on the rooftop with a very beautiful girl...

Gina caught herself thinking that way, and internally slapped herself for thinking that. She really wasn't very good at stopping those thoughts though, and it terrified her so very much. The comment about her mother getting her the place made Gina pause. Was the witch before her one of those kind of people who brought success? She didn't think so, but for a moment she felt wholly uncomfortable. But, only a moment.

"I don't think I deserve it, but I can at least use my powers for evil and cheat the system from within."

Because that comment changed Gina's mind almost instantly on the witch. Breaking the rules, cheating the system... that was precisely the game she played. However, Gina was not so thoroughly stupid that she thought she could discuss the small business she was running inside the castle walls with the witch beside her. She might have said that out loud, but it was another thing actually doing it. "I will keep that in mind if I ever need something then!" Gina replied with a grin. "Though I do wonder how someone like you could possibly be evil..." She added, before she realised just how very... flirtatious that sounded. Merlin she hoped it hadn't sounded as forward as it had in her head. Scalding herself, Gina only nodded in regards to Tess.

"Well, there goes my hobby."

Now that... that, Gina was quite sure to be flirting, and a very light touch of pink touched her cheeks. Though, of course, Beatrice would never mean it that way. She was just a normal girl, not someone being completely humiliated by thoughts such as her own. "I think it would be a relatively boring hobby, anyway." Gina replied softly, looking up to the night sky as she leant back on her hands. Now, how was she going to get rid of the prefect before her post arrived? The Hufflepuff wondered as she asked a question.

"You can go out in to the grounds whenever you like, you just need the right means to get out there!" Gina told the witch. "There are ways, but..." She paused, looking back to the witch with a cheeky smile. "You could be asking just so you can stop others from getting out so you can tell the Head Girl!" She teased lightly.

Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina)   Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) EmptyMon Sep 22, 2014 3:46 pm

Bea had to physically force herself to look at somewhere else than at the gorgeous girl sitting next to her. She knew not everyone liked people of their own sex or gender and she was usually good at telling whether someone would like to kiss her or not. This girl, however, gave off mixed signals and whenever Bea thought she might stand a chance, the girl's attitude changed and left the Ravenclaw confused.

Well, if nothing else, it could be a challenge to figure out whether Georgina liked her or not. Of course, there was always the possibility that the other witch hasn't figured out she likes girls... Now, that would be interesting as well. Bea knew a few girls like that back in France and she waited patiently for them to figure it out on their own, helping them along the way and eventually answering questions and reassuring them it was completely normal. Now there was a word Beatrice despised.

Normal.

For Merlin's sake, they were at a magical castle, learning how to make bunnies out of pincushions, they were shooting water out of their wands, there was a silver guardian thing that looked like who you would be as an animal or something that you could call by thinking of a happy memory, there was a giant squid in the lake... Surely liking girls wasn't the oddest thing to occur.

The witch was brought back to Earth by Georgina saying something about needing Bea. To be honest, that's the only thing the Ravenclaw heard. She nodded with a small smile.

"Though I do wonder how someone like you could possibly be evil..."

Was that flirting? That was definitely flirting, right. If Bea had long hair, she would totally tuck them behind her ear now and smile. As it was, she only looked sideways to Georgina and grinned.

"Maybe I could show you sometimes." she said, trying very hard to make her voice seductive. The French accent helped.

With delight, she noticed how the other witch got slightly flustered at her words. Oh, she definitely liked Bea. It made the Ravenclaw all warm inside. Hm. She showed all signs of a crush. No, this wasn't good. Everytime Bea had developed a crush on someone, it either ended in a one-time snogging session or her pining over the person.

"You can go out in to the grounds whenever you like, you just need the right means to get out there!"

Georgina once again interrupted Bea's train of thought and she perked up at her words. She was sure she could find a way out without being detected. How hard could it be?

Bea gasped dramatically at the insinuation that she would be a snitch, bringing a hand up to her chest.

"Mon Dieu!" she exclaimed, trying very hard not to start laughing. "Did I not just say I'll use my powers for evil?"

Thankfully, Gina had taken to looking around at the sky than the Ravenclaw. This was becoming very difficult for her as her internal monologue ran wild. Everything in the witch's mind was so very unfair. Beatrice was unfair.

When the witch mentioned her showing her the evil side, Gina smiled ruefully to herself. Of course she would, and then Gina would find herself hating herself more for allowing them to happen. She sobered at that thought, though she simply couldn't deny that if nothing else Beatrice's accent was so very alluring.

"Did I not just say I'll use my powers for evil?"

"Well, you did... I can sneak you out. But I don't do things for free." Gina shot back playfully. She never did anything for free, and she had a trick or two up her sleeve. Checking the sky once more for her package. Still no sign. "I don't know why people find the stars so alluring you know..." Gina told the French girl, smiling at a film reference from a Muggle movie before she shook herself once more. You can't draw, and you're certainly not drawing French girls, Gina. She chastised herself.

"Where would you want to get to?" She added, scrutinising the prefect. It was so out of character for prefect's to be like this. But if she was genuine, Gina would most definitely try her best to keep her close. The thought made her close her eyes in exasperation. Honestly, Gina lacked control and she really hated herself for it.

Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina)   Baby, we'll be counting stars (Gina) EmptyMon Sep 22, 2014 4:25 pm

There it was, that gorgeous smile. Bea's stomach made a slight jump and she had to remind herself she couldn't just go around kissing random girls. Even though she really, really wanted to kiss Georgina right then, social norms be damned. She didn't though, didn't even make an attempt. It took most of her energy not to, really, but she honestly still didn't know whether Georgina would like to be kissed by her or not.

Thankfully, Bea was too busy looking at the stars, pointedly not looking at Georgina and thinking about kissing her, to see the other witch sobering up. She wouldn't want to see the fallen face and receive mixed signals again. So, she was lost in her little world where she was definitely kissing the witch.

"Well, you did... I can sneak you out. But I don't do things for free."

Interesting.

Bea grinned at the other witch. "Good. I'd insist on repaying you." Anything to be in her company for a longer period of time, to be honest. And since she didn't specify on the 'payment', Bea figured kisses could be considered... She was far too happy with that thought to notice it was bordering on prostitution.

At the comment about the star, Beatrice shrugged. "They're sparkly. And romantic, I suppose." she added, glancing sideways to Georgina with a small smile.

"Where would you want to get to?"

The Ravenclaw thought about it for a minute, looking up at the sky and then turned to look back at the witch. "Where would you recommend I go? I don't know anything about your grounds." That was only a white lie. While she has been on a tour here in the summer, she didn't really know anything about the castle and the grounds.

Thinking about walking around the grounds with Georgina made Bea smile happily. Maybe their hands would brush against each other, maybe one of them would stumble and then both of them would fall, preferably with Georgina on top of Beatrice... Bea shook her head, getting the mental image out of her head.

"Good. I'd insist on repaying you."

With that much, Gina was glad. She'd never run a business if it wasn't for profit. And just because the Ravenclaw beside her was pretty it didn't mean she was going to get freebies. "We'll negotiate nearer to the time." Gina replied softly, looking to the sky and noticing one of the stars was growing larger...

Oh no, not now! Gina whined in her head seeing the owl coming closer. Could you shoo those birds without directly doing it? Maybe if she willed it away? No, Gina shook herself, knowing that that simply wasn't going to make anything go away.

"They're sparkly. And romantic, I suppose."

"Romantic... On your own they're hardly romantic." Gina replied, not seeing the flaw in what she was saying in that moment. Looking back up to the sky, she could only agree that they sparkled, but that was about all she got from them.

"Where would you recommend I go? I don't know anything about your grounds."

"The lake is cool, though it's better in the summer months." Gina explained, trying to think about what she enjoyed. "The forest is quite spectacular too, once you find your way around. It depends whether you prefer aquatic or woodland creatures really. Or you can just walk the grounds..."

With that, Gina stood up, just in time for a barn owl to land on her outstretched hand. Taking the package that was loaded with her order of not such a very good description, the witch sent the owl away again. Thankfully it was a wrapped package, because the contents was not something she wished to share. "I should probably be going now. Let me know when you want to see the grounds, Frenchie!" The Italian witch teased, heading off towards the stairs. She paused at the door, looking back towards the Ravenclaw. "And, I won't tell anyone you were here if you kindly forget that I was here too." She added with a wink before disappearing from sight.
