Muggle Studies Lesson 1 (Years 5-7)

Thana arrived at her first Muggle Studies lesson at her new school, she walked  in and saw a new Professor. One that hadn't been teaching at Hogwarts, she nodded slightly to him and sat down. Noticing that the chairs had been purposely separated. Thana knew better than to ask.

Sitting down on the chair, she hardly noticed how uncofortable they were. Years of training with Shifué meant that she could get comfortable even if sue sat on a knife blade. Thana pulled out a book and got prepared for the lesson. Her adoptive brother was supposed to be here by now, she frowned. Hoping he hadn't partied again. Thana pulled out her books and waited. She was nervous about starting at her new school, she hadn't told many people. Namely one in particular.

Jareth woke up late, and with a slight hangover. He had partied away his last night of freedom, a stupid choice on his part. He had ringing in his ears when he made his way to his first lesson.

Walking in, he saw his adopted sister was already there. "Godammit how the hell did she get here so fast?" he thought to himself, sitting down next to her.  "Sup Professor?" he said to the man standing out the front. He seemed like a bundle of fun.

"Where the hell were you? You were supposed to meet me before breakfast" Thana said quietly,

"Take a guess" Jareth replied, earning him a slap at the back of the head.

" Your supposed to be trying this year, you don't want to repeat again" Came the quiet reply.

"Smartass" he answered, the ringing still in his head. He quietly pulled out his books and looked at the board. "Oh, I KNOW ABOUT MUGGLES! "he yelled, before wincing. "The joys of a hangover" he thought.

Aragorn walked to the Muggle Studies classroom with confidence, his parents were muggles. Sadly. He walked in and nodded to the new professor, he would be an interesting one. A retired doctor Aragorn had found out.

Walking in he read the board then sat down, out of the corner of his eye he noticed a movement. A girl had whacked a boy Aragorn knew as Jareth up the back of the head. They obviously knew each other, by the way they spoke in hushed tones. Aragorn looked carefully at the girl, she was new.Probably a transfer student by the looks of it. He stared at her with an interest. She wasn't like the other girls who tried to be loud and get attention. It seemed this girl didn't want it, she didn't have makeup on to the point that other girls did. It was only light, she was organised as well. She seemed very dedicated. He stared at her, hoping not to get noticed.

Thana let a ghost of a smile touch her lips as Jareth was immediately told off, and picked up her book to slap him across the back of the head again when he gave a snide remark about the Professors leg.

" Show some bloody respect and if you think you can copy of me all year because you come to classes with a hangover, your wrong" She said moving away from him and re sitting. Jareth wasn't her problem, so she had no intention of helping him.   She sat back down and readjusted, once again ready for the lesson . She ignored her adoptive brother, purposely. He meant nothing to her academically, she only looked out for him because she had to live with him for most of the holidays.

At the mention of his reputation preceding him, Jareth just smiled even wider. " Really Sir? I knew I was famous because I an such a hottie and a partyboy, but I didn't think a .. person such as yourself would know of me" he replied,

Show some bloody respect and if you think you can copy of me all year because you come to classes with a hangover, your wrong"



Jareth got a harder hit by a book " ow" he said to his ' sister' that had moved away . " Come on Sis! Dont be like that! We are BOTH repeating!" He said to her. Seeing if she would react. Instead he simply got ignored , she was good at ignoring people when she wanted. Jareth would give her that much.

Aragorn watched the interaction slightly amused, obviously the girl didn't care too much for the boy. At the mention of being a "sister" he realised that she was obviously adopted into the family. Aragorn knew Jareth was a party boy, often he went out with him but the woman that accompanied them were trivial. Not what Aragorn was looking for.

Looking back at the Professor, Aragorn had a question. "Sir, what is it exactly you want us to tell you about muggles? What specifically they are, or what makes them different to us?" he enquired.

Diem was sadly running late and she didn't like being late. She was head girl now and she was late for a class that she enjoyed. She was practically sprinting to the class and when she arrived she saw that the class already begun and she was feeling so guilty right now. "I am so sorry Professor, it will not happen again. I swear" she said as she entered the class. She took a seat and was biting her lip waiting for her punishment.

Jareth smiled even wider at the Professor as he tried to scare him. " Sure sir, lets date for a month.. See how it goes! Want me to bring the alcohol?, and tell my bro I said hi! " He smirked back, before giving his answer. " Muggles are party people "

Jareth wasn't paying attention to his " Sister" until she was right at his desk. She calmly walked between him and the desk, he smiled broadly for a minute before being forced to stand up in pain. " Thana.. Stop.." He said through gritted teeth.

Thana had hoped that the Professors threats would of been enough to fix Jareth. Apparently not so. He gave the rudest remark, and Thana was sick of it. Not even twenty minutes into her first class and she was  contemplating murdering her 'brother'

Quietly and calmly she got up from her desk, and walked over to Jareths. She walked between the desk and the chair he was lazily swinging back on. What she did next was not something anyone would of expected from her, she not so delicately put her hand on Jareths Solar Plexus and closed it. Making him shoot up in pain.

Thana... Stop came his reply through gritted teeth.

Thana only hardened her grip, she didn't care that he would be embarrassed in front of the whole class, she was not putting up with his smartass attitude all year. " Let me make something very clear Jareth. I dropped you like a leaf over the holidays and I can do it now. I have been with you for twenty minutes in one class and you have already got detention for a month" she started, watching satisfied as his face got redder and redder. " I am repeating this year because I saved your ass, but next time I am going to help whoever wants to kill you. Now sit the eff down , shut the hell up and if I hear one more smartass comment from your mouth I will personally throw you out of the window and collapse a wall on you. Do you understand?" She asked, her grip harder than iron on Jareths nether regions .

... Yes... came the tiny high pitched squeak from her ' brother' he had tears coming out if his eyes like a fountain. Satisfied, she let go of him and quietly returned to her desk like nothing had happened. Ignoring her crying brother holding himself on the floor in agony . For once she was glad she was female.

Michelle did see everything that what was going on this classsroom now but she staied still. Didn't really want be part of this kind of family drama right now. When teacher asked what is first thing that come in mind if you think about muggles. "For me it's my parents since they both are muggles," she said her answer to professsor now too.

Aragorn watched as the Wormwood girl got up and stopped her 'brother' he did feel sorry for the poor dude, laying on the floor crying. Obviously this girl was an interesting one, he would have to watch her further.

Returning his attention to the class at hand, he answered the first thing he thought of. " Pathetic, they know technology yet lack so much thanks to magic" Aragorn said. Not caring who he offended, both his parents were Muggles and in his opinion beneath him.

Thana looked down as she got her warning, she hated getting in trouble. It wasn't because she was a goody two shoes, but she had to do well in school. She couldn't afford any mistakes, and being in trouble was one if them. " Sorry Sir" she said quietly, before listening to the rest of the class. Thana watched as Jareth finally got back up and in his chair , knowing he would be in too much pain to come out with a sarcastic answer.

Aragorn listened as the girl, whom he now knew the name of got in trouble. Personally he didn't think she had done anything wrong, but it was the teachers choice. Upon being asked a few more questions Aragorn thought before answering. " I was born to a family that had so much technology, yet no time to do anything else. By supposedly getting smarter and smarter they make the selves dumber, giving the selves jobs that take hours to complete by hand and only minutes by wand." He answered, giving his thoughts .

After several minutes of hell, Jareth finally managed to get up again. Quietly and scaredly sitting at his desk, he didn't dare speak yet. He didn't trust his voice enough not to still be high pitched and squeaky, revealing the pain he was still in. Instead he sat quietly , breathing through the pain.

Apollo was once again late for a class that he shouldn't be late for but of course because of him waking up a little later then he should have, he was now late. This was DADA all over again and he wasn't interested in being late to another class again. Apollo walked into the classroom and felt entirely guilty but had to let it go because he needed to focus on this class. "I apologize for my lateness" Apollo apologized, he hadn't attended this class yet but he knew that he would have to eventually to get in his knowledge.

Diem knows a lot about Muggles, considering her father actually was one before he killed himself. It was still a tragedy for her. When the Professor asked about if they had any questions Diem raised her hand, it wasn't really for a question but to add more onto the differences. "If I remember correctly, aren't MP3's and IPod's different in size as well as the name?" Diem asked. "I remember that they come in all different sizes along with color and memory."
