Around the University campus Marilyn had heard about something that immediatly sparked her curiosity.

Wizarding karaoke. Which seemed to be a kind of a pub-like place where one can order drinks and light meals and then one can go up and get a charm that gives you a random song and voice and then you do the song karaoke style.

Judging by what she'd found out about it it is hilarious; you could be a 40 year old business wizard and belt out Love Story by Taylor Swift and sound exactly like her or you can have a normally soft disposition and crank out ‘Baby got back’.

The atmosphere seemed to be very relaxed and fun, and the lyrics appear above them so anyone can join in. There are all sorts of props like a pole to dance on. And since it’s like a modified random glamour charm, (marvellous piece of magic, really, Marilyn thought) you go on stage and it looks like you’re wearing something that fits to the song you got.

Luckily, since Marilyn was truly not easily embarrassed it sounded like a fun date idea. (She'd also checked how big it was and was pleased to find out that they only accomodate about 25 people at a time, which was perfect.

So she'd told Jake about it and soon they were on their way there, hands intertwined as usual, kissing talking and laughing as they walked through wizarding London together.

"I wonder what you'll get," Mari mused, considering various situations that would have her laughing in her seat, but also considering a few choice variations that would result in Jake being kissed senseless afterwards.

Routine had set back in after the couple of days Jake had taken off from work for his birthday, mostly because Marilyn and Victoria both wanted to see him. Loath as he was to admit it, he simply couldn't give one of them more time than the other, so he'd given them both a whole day, even if the activities had been far apart.

Victoria, for one, didn't understand for a moment why Jake as a twenty-one year old, heterosexual male had been exasperated with a tea party with her stuffed animals in the garden. "It's fun!" Victoria had insisted, making Jake shake his head at her with a fond smile. If she never grew up, Jake wasn't sure that he'd mind too much.

It had been after one of their usual days of university, when they'd been sat around going through the work they'd been given (Jake a lot lazier on the subject than Mari because his brain had been fried during class). So when she'd suggested a distraction (one that was already taken in Jake's mind as he was dozing on the sofa) he'd been up for it, seeing as it would mean she put down their books and would give him a little more attention.

So it was a little while later that the two of them were walking down the road, hand in hand and trying to anticipate the nights events.

"I wonder what you'll get,"

"I'm not sure, but at least we know I sing!" Jake teased back, reaching down to kiss her cheek. "I think yours are going to be more amusing." He added, nodding to confirm it as they moved in to the bar. "What would you like to drink?" Jake asked as they moved to the bar, this wouldn't be fun without a little alcohol, in his mind at least.

"Pfft, I don't have to sing, the charm will do it for me. I just have to cope with whatever outfit I'm landed with. Perhaps I'll get lucky and see you in leather trousers..." She teased playfully as he kissed her cheek.

When they walked in just as a business witch was called from her friends, recieving 'Something in your mouth' and from then on donning a 'canadian tuxedo' much to the amusement of the crowd. Especially when the gruff male voice came out of the blonde's lips.

"I'll take a Bloody Mary, please." Mari kissed him on the cheek and gave their names to the man in charge of the karaoke charms.

Taking a seat in front of the stage Marilyn caught the current singer winking at her as she sang 'You look so much cuter with something in your mouth.' at which Marilyn turned a little red and looked back at her drink.

"I'm not wearing leather trousers!" Jake protested at the idea, shaking his head at such a thing. There would be absolutely no way he'd play the game if he had to wear such things.

With Mari's order, Jake moved to the bar, getting himself a vodka and coke mix. Slipping in to the seat beside the witch, Jake raised an eyebrow at her pink cheeks before looking up at the other witch on stage.

"Nickelback?" The young man mouthed, not interested in watching the spectacle because Merlin the song was distasteful. Amusing when Marilyn reacted, but not Jake's style. Sipping his drink, Jake waited for the first to be over before the next person stepped up.

Uptown Girl soon blared through the bar, once again Jake paid little attention to the man on stage, instead taking to serenading Mari. He didn't need the words, getting every single one perfect before leaning in to give her a kiss.

as the call for the next person came, Jake nudged the witch beside him. "You go first!" He prompted with a large grin on his face.

"Nickelback?"
"I think so." She whispered, ignoring the witch's winks. Marilyn far preferred Jake's serenade that started only moments later. It was moments like these that made her feel most...normal again.

Kissing him back she rolled her eyes, "Well, if you insist..." She gave him another kiss as she walked up, giving the stage manager a smile as he ticked off her name.

As soon as the aspiring Auror took the stage a shimmer passed over her. In the reflection by the bar her mouth formed a perfect 'O'. Gone was her simple black dress, instead her curls were straightened and open over what could only be described as a...gratuitous schoolgirl outfit and...black boots that went to her knees.

"Oh shit-" Marilyn muttered into the microphone, cringing when the teenie voice of Britney Spears echoed through the speaker instead.
Before she could back out the music started and the words starting pouring from her lips in a seductive purr. Or at least, what a teenaged Britney had taken to be a seductive purr.

"Hit me Baby one more time..." Flashed over her head as she sang, dancing in a similar way to the original artist in the music video. And to her initial relief the schoolgirl outfit disappeared in the middle of the song to be replaced by an outfit similar to what the girl had later worn in the video.

Honestly? It was really fun. Since she didn't have to worry about the words or music she could just dance and enjoy the game. Luckily she was a talented dancer, another reason to enjoy the performance.

Mari winked at Jake as she sang, dancing between the poles on the stage, knowing it would leave him a little warm under the collar. She had to admit that even she found the outfits...interesting. And the poles were not unfamilar, a few of her dance lessons had involved them in the routines. (Something she'd figured Jake could find out later on).

When it was finally done she took her bow laughing in front of the cheering crowd and exited the stage, her own clothes back instantly, much to her gratitude.
"Hey..." she murmured, sitting next to Jake and kissing him. Marilyn hadn't intended on making it a particularily deep kiss, but Jake, it seemed, had other plans.

"You liked the outfit, didn't you?" Mari smirked, "Save some for later, hmm?" She all but purred after pulling back, "It's your turn. Knock 'em dead." The witch teased, highly anticipating his 'performance'.

The song that came on for Marilyn was one that Jake was far too familiar with from having a younger sister who loved to play Britney Spears again. And again. And again. However, the look that came with this version of the song was one that he would treasure for a very long time. In essence, Jake forgot precisely where they were and watched his girlfriend strutting her stuff so confidently, that he couldn't help but admire how well she pulled it all off.

So when the witch took to the poles, Jake quite honestly believed that he was in heaven, the grin on his face only grew. It was both highly amusing and arousing to watch your girlfriend like this, and he could tell from the wink Marilyn sent him that it hadn't gone amiss.

"You liked the outfit, didn't you?" Mari smirked, "Save some for later, hmm?"

"Enough to know what I'm getting you for your birthday." Jake joked against her lips, getting ready to settle back in to his seat. However, it seemed it was his turn next, and from the slightly flustered mannerism, Jake took a brief moment to calm himself before he headed up to the stage. There were a few wolf-whistles - Jake not being completely sure if one of them was Mari's.

Taking to the stage, Jake didn't look down at his attire until he was in the middle of the stage.

The Video

There, in the middle of the stage, stood an ex-Quidditch star dressed in leather trousers with the middle cut out, and a pair of leather pants only just covering the essentials. Jake's cheeks were flushing faster than you could say Quidditch, and the glamour at completely discarded a shirt, instead opting to make Jake slightly damp to the touch, working the carefully toned muscles to their full potential.

Jake, however, didn't miss a beat as the intro started, deciding that if any time was his for the taking, it was now. Apparently, as the people in charge had neglected to explain, guys could get girl songs too. The trainee Auror worked the whole song, not familiar with the music video, but knowing the singer in question it would mean a lot of hip action. His attention remained on Mari, his eyes dancing with amusement as the song progressed.

What Jake hadn't been banking on, however, was the water that poured down towards the end of the song, soaking him completely as he continued through the song with his own provocative dance number. When finally the song was over, Jake took a bow to the applause of the room and left the stage, still a little wet, but back in his original clothing. Managing to get back to his seat, Jake drowned his drink before turning to Mari. "That, was quite fun!" He admitted, leaning in to kiss the witch.

"However, please do not buy me leather pants, those things are all sorts of uncomfortable!" He explained, shaking his head and letting out a soft laugh. There was absolutely no way he would wear those in any other situation, but it had been fun. Running a hand through his now damp hair, the young man tried to tidy it up enough to resemble it's normal look, but he was probably making it worse.

Marilyn had just taken a swig from her drink when she'd looked up at the stage to see her boyfriend...in very little...and glistening... It took a great bit of control to not spit her drink in surprise. Swallowing quickly she whistled, along with quite a few others. Smirking she watched him, eyes locking and suddenly it was like a private show.

Biting her lip she watched as he enjoyed himself on the stage and sighed softly when the water came down.
When he came back, talking about the leather pants it only partially registered with the witch, who was smirking as he mussed his hair even more,a very muscular man taking the stage after him and getting 'Dancing Queen', which elicited some chuckles from his friends.

"Let me help you with that..." she murmured, moving to sit sideways on his lap and kissing him slowly, her hands running up from his neck into his hair as the kiss deepened.
"Told you you'd get leather pants..." she whispered against his neck as she sucked the sensitive skin gently.

"I think perhaps...we should come back here another time..."

Jake didn't get an opportunity to catch up with what the witch was doing. As she moved in to his lap, kissing him deeply as her fingers moved through his damp hair, Jake couldn't help but feel more than a little smug in himself.

"Told you you'd get leather pants..."

"I think you slipped the song to the DJ." Jake replied with a small, barely audible groan. The music was much too loud for anyone to hear them, and the room dark enough to go unnoticed in Marilyn's antics as Jake gave her more access to his neck as she sucked it gently. "But I'm glad you liked it." He added, pressing his lips to her forehead.

"I think perhaps...we should come back here another time..."

Not needing to be told twice that Marilyn wished to leave, Jake nodded, stealing one last, prolonged kiss. Helping Marilyn up from his lap, Jake slipped his hand in to hers, following her through the bar and back out on to the street that was growing a little darker. "I'm hoping you get a Pussycat Dolls number next time." Jake mused as they walked away, leaning down to steal another kiss as they walked. That would be quite something, though if he was perfectly honest, he preferred personal displays.

But he wouldn't ask, because that would be assuming way too much. Instead, they just continued to walk down the street, back to Marilyn's to finish the evening with their own entertainment.

"Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?" She purred teasingly in answer.

Kissing him back in a way that had them stopping for a few moments and left Marilyn's head spinning. It was times like these that she felt...her age. She always felt so old, so tired. But when they were walking, holding hands, laughing and kissing, unable to keep their hands off of each other...they were acting like teenagers. And she felt like one.

Walking away from the pub Marilyn had the sneaking feeling they were being watched.
Now this wasn't a new feeling, by any means. Completely disregarding paparazzi, she generally had that feeling. But it still felt like she was really being watched.
However, knowing herself that she did sometimes imagine it, she decided to let it go. She was safe with Jake- indeed there was no safer place, Mari thought.

Little did she know Felipe Ramirez was slowly coming out of the karaoke bar they'd just emerged from, watching his granddaughter with sad eyes, still unable to reach out to her.
But Marilyn didn't see him.

They didn't make it to the bedroom. But that was alright, Marilyn figured, the hallway needed christening anyway.
