Jareth sat clutching the letter in his hand, the one saying he had to repeat. He honestly didn't think he had done that badly with his N.E.W.T.S. but his results proved otherwise, as did his normal report.
His parents hadnt said much, they had been told by Lucas what had happened. They were disappointed, but forgave him quickly. He was alive, Which meant more to them than repeating a year. Jareth sat on the steps of ShadowBane manor, outside and by himself. It was a nice evening, with no chill. He really had to think about his choices, of course he wouldn't stop having fun, no way was that changing.. However he did need to pass his repeated year, which meant no partying on school nights.
Heck with his adoptive sister transferring, he might . Just might ask her for help on occasions, she certainly knew too much. Merlin only knew why Lucas and her were friends, especially since the age difference. Whenever he had asked his parents or Lucas about it, they quickly dismissed it. Saying " it isn't your concern, it was before your time" How that worked Jareth had no idea, especially since he was practically older than Thana.
Jareth knew what he had to do, he was expected to do well. Even if he didn't get as good of a score as Lucas or Thana had, he still did want to prove he could do it. Not for Lucas, not for his parents, not even for his Girlfriend Alyson, but for himself. He needed to clean up his act, at least a little bit and start passing and figuring out what to do with his life.
