A Quiet Afternoon (Jari)

It hadn't been a particularily exciting day for Marilyn, she had spent all day cooped up in her extra room that had pretty much turned into a laboratory where she stood bent over dozens of different cuffs of different metal alloys to test magical conductivity, not to mention that she had to battle the allergy factor to certain metals and muggle chemistry came into the mix and she'd been forced to vaguely consult muggle Internet Forums.

So far she'd tested about ten different combinations of metal and spellwork and noted the results: All Gold mixtures melted upon Impact with a curse, silver mixtures worked best with platinum but pure platinum was no good because it didn't conduct the charms properly.

But after calling it a day she'd met Jake in the entrance hall after a shower because otherwise the witch had a tendency of smelling like cinnamon and burnt hair after coming from the lab.
While the work in the lab was great and Marilyn really seemed to Bloom when working on her Projects for the Ministry, who had been interested in her cuffs enough to allow her to give the work the Attention it needed, the witch was greatly relieved when she got to just spend time with Jake.

Life was so comfortable and they'd fallen into rhythm so quickly that it had seemed they'd never done anything else. They cooked together after figuring out that they both needed to hone that skill. And afterwards they cuddled on the sofa after Marilyn had checked up on the cuffs in the lab that had been soaking in an anti-allergen potion.

So she returned with slightly fume-fluffed hair, to her spot laying on the couch, facing Jake and pressing a gentle kiss back to his lips, smiling and humming contently.
"So, what would you like to do?"

"Hmm..." The witch pondered, absently playing with one of his hands gently as she thought it over, "Well...how about we get to know each other more? I ask you a question, you answer and then ask me a question and so on and so forth." Mari murmured, kissing his knuckles before placing his hand on her waist.

The witch let her now interlocked fingers brush against his gently as she listened to his question thoughtfully, considering her answer,

"Well, I do have a favorite song..." The witch bit her lip as she worked up the nerve to get it out, "It's not overly known...'Heartbeats' by Jose Gonzalez, I suppose he'd be one of my favorite singers. I like quiet music, if that makes sense. Fleetwood Mac, Death Cab for Cutie, City and Colour...oh, yes, 'Transatlanticism' by Death Cab for Cutie is another favorite song."

Mari shifted slightly, aware that her taste in music tended to differ greatly from the tough persona she upheld; vulnerability was something the witch was still extremely uncomfortable with, because she still had the feeling she couldn't be vulnerable without getting hurt. And the fact that she was letting Jake find out more about her was a large step in trust for her and she knew it would be a good choice, that didn't make it easier however.

"Hmm..." the witch gave him another kiss before asking her question, "If you could go anywhere in the world with no worries, where would you go and why?"

The witch couldn't help the smile when he said he'd listen to it and resisted the instinct to tell him he didn't have to. She knew that he wouldn't appreciate her acting as if she wasn't worth paying attention to. It wasn't that she actively thought so little of herself, she just had the 'hide and survive behavioral pattern ingrained strongly on her mind. But with Jake it had been getting better and better.

Mari nodded at his answer, personally Russia was too anti-gay for her relaxation or safety, but Europe in was something she liked to travel around in. The witch found herself picturing Jake in a City like Rome or Paris, or even the european half of Turkey and smirked slightly at the thought of the somewhat pale-skinned man in such heat intense places.

At his addition of "And you" Marilyn grinned and kissed him back before giving him a deeper kiss of her own in appreciation, her hand moving from his to cup his cheek as she did so.

"What three things can make you happy instantly?"

Mari chuckled at his teasing and rolled her eyes, "Well, besides you..." she thought about it and her eyes took on a slight spark of sadness as the things that had once made her feel happy popped into mind like her mothers singing, the twins pranks... but that was too painful to think about to she shifted her Focus abruptly, forbidding herself melancholy thoughts as her smile returned,

"Astronomy. I love the stars and everything about outer space." She admitted, expression lighting up at the mere thought. It was surprising how many answers she had to bite back, because they were connected to the man before her.
"The ocean in Mexico. I...miss them. They were always so clear and blue. Beautiful." Mari caught herself growing a bit too open and reigned herself in out of habit, "And auror class. I like the efficience and practicality."

"Hmm...what is your patronus memory?" she asked, scooting closer on the couch to get comfortable once more.

"

"I can't believe it makes you smile. Is it Clement or Holmes that does it for you?"
"Oh shut up" she laughed, "They are brilliant teachers and I like practicality." She defended half-heartedly, knowing it was just affectionate teasing and enjoying it.

Marilyn listened with an apparent fondness when he spoke of his sister and smiled, "That's sweet." she whispered, kissing the corner of his lips softly before kissing him.

Marilyn froze, the colour draining slightly from her face as a scowl took over her pretty Features. It was like he'd known exactly what button to push. To be quite honest, there was one incident in particular at the end of her sixth year when she'd been in a very dark time in her life and she'd hooked up with...Anyway, basically the witch liked to pretend it had never happened. And was usually quite successful.
Until now.

"Ehm..." she coughed on the first Name, "Schuter- Then Callum, Lara, Melissa, Mike and you." The witch looked down and wished that Jagger would choose this moment to move and just sit on her and squash her flat, but no such luck.

"Anyway!" she continued quickly, "What's your favorite Position? In sex, I mean."

Marilyn pursed her lips in a scowl and rolled her eyes, muttering, "We weren't together. It was once. I was young and stupid and a virgin and he literally started to and I pushed him off and left. So It doesn't really count and I prefer to not think about it." she explained shortly, cheeks red hoping to just leave it at that and never mention it again.

But the witch soon saw a blush of his own spreading across his cheeks and tilted her head curiously as his answer came that he preferred more loving and intimate sex. All irritation vanished as a warmth spread in her chest and she moved flush up against him to kiss him deeper than before, longer, as her arms moved to pull him closer.

"You forgot a question..." she breathed against his ear before nibbling it playfully, a smile lighting up her features.

The witch laughed softly at his groan and at the fact that he had to pull away to focus on a question, having enjoyed the close contact. Jake was certainly somewhat aware by now that Marilyn loved to tease and found a great deal of amusement in it.

The witch chuckled and looked at her clock on the wall, "About....three minutes ago." Mari bit her lip, "I'm honestly just not easily embarrassed." Pulling closer to him again with a smirk she kissed him,
"Do I make it difficult for you to concentrate?" she whispered, giving him a soft kiss on the neck and nudging his leg with hers teasingly.

Marilyn rolled her eyes at his answer and a slight tinge of pink coloured her cheeks at the compliment he paid her, still not used to the notion of being found beautiful. However it was a notion that Jake frequently seemed to entertain and thus she found she didn't mind quite as much as she had used to, not agreeing but not arguing about it anymore, choosind instead to Focus on the man in front of her who'd had to scoot away but was still very close.

His next question accompanied by the light brushing of his hand along her spine had her let out a quiet sigh as her back arched ever so slightly at the touch. Her lips brushed his softly, just barely touching as she breathed her answer honestly, eyes flickering up to meet his, "Yes..."

The witch let her tongue tease along his bottom lip slowly, savouring the familiar taste she could never get enough of before whispering,
"What do you want right now...?"
