Auror Meeting (Aurors Only) Tumblr11

Louis had been through the plans a million times in his head, he knew everything there was to know, and now he was simply waiting at the rendezvous point for his students. He'd told them specifically to be here half an hour before the ball so that he could give them all their briefing. He merely hoped they would all listen, because Merlin he was going to come down like a tonne of bricks if they didn't.

Louis checked his watch again, taking in the beautiful gardens and adjusting his suit once more. It was weird getting dressed on his own again, but the Frenchman would get used to it. He'd always been versatile like that. One minute to go... Louis would have thought they'd have been here by now, but he remained the epitome of calm, as always.

He'd sorted the wards with Mycroft earlier in the day, but with so many people moving in to the castle, it was never going to be perfect. They were merely playing a hoping game, hoping that they'd done enough to keep all of the children safe.

Marilyn had gotten ready (her look) and left to go to the breifing, but she'd be back afterwards to pick up Jake. The young Auror-in-Training was very happy to be of service at the Ball and proud she was deemed good enough to do her job.
Picking up her skirts slightly to walk down the steps into the garden she saw her Professor and smiled slightly, still remaining professional.
"Good Evening, Professor, Clement." The witch greeted with a small bow of the head. Her professor always seemed so elegant and composed, it was intimidating, and she was grateful that she had arrived one minute before meeting time. She would never want to face his wrath.

David was not thrilled to be, yet again, taking orders from Louis Clement, but he knew better than to argue. He even had something to look forward to, which was seeing Shiva again. The first time in a long time. He was pumped.

For this meeting though, not so much. He wore black and white dress robes, as to not stand out like he would have if he wore his normal red and gold ones. As he made his way to the meeting, he saw Clement and Caldwell.. Mari Caldwell. He shook any feelings out of his head and walked up to them. "Sir" He said as greetings, then even quieter "Mari."

With two of them already here, Louis didn't intend to wait for the others, the quicker they were in place, the more at ease Louis would feel. Of course, that wouldn't be much less, but having Aurors, even the useless ones, in place would be better than nothing.

"Good Evening, Professor, Clement."

"Caldwell." Louis replied shortly, before noting the boy following behind her. "Shuter." He acknowledged. Get these two out of the way, then he could deal with the rest. "Okay, I'll brief you two, then I want you inside. Mill around like you're supposed to be there, but for Merlin's sake do not get distracted." The comment was more towards Shuter, men were always the weaker subject in such illustrious events. "You are to keep your eyes peeled at all times, and if I think for a moment you're slacking you will be out of there in a second, do I make myself clear?" Louis asked, still firmly believing that he would rather be a man down than have a liability in the ranks.

"Patrols will be as follows: Mari you will be taking the main dance hall." Louis told the witch, his eyes moving to her with the responsibility of the majority of people that evening. "You are to patrol the area, keep an eye out for people who shouldn't be there." Taking something out of his pocket, he handed the witch a magical ear piece. "You tell me first if you notice anything, we do not act until we're sure." He told her firmly, though quite honestly he knew the witch could make her own decisions. "The room is yours, you are in charge."

Turning to Shuter, Louis distaste for the boy only just managed to stay hidden. "You are only here because Holmes wants you to be here. If I had my way, you would be as far away from here as I could send you." Louis told him, making sure to make the boy know that this was not something he'd been given on merit. "You are not in charge of anything, you will not shout orders at anyone. Your position will be the entrance hall, and I will not see you anywhere else. You will only hold a defence if the time comes. If I hear one order come from your mouth, so help you God." With that, Louis handed him an ear piece. "Don't put a foot out of line, or I will personally make sure you are never allowed to step foot in the Ministry again. Clear?"

Louis didn't wait for an answer as he turned back to the duo. "I am under strict orders that none of us command students to do anything. If anything should happen, you hold a defence for people to get out. The earpieces are the only way we will be communicating. If anyone thinks for a moment that they wish to disobey these rules, I will have no qualms in handing in a notice for your dismissal first thing Monday morning. Now go, and do not let me down."

"The room is yours, you are in charge."
If Marilyn was surprised that she was in charge of the main hall it didn't show. The witch accepted the earpiece, put it in and nodded, memorizing her instructions and noting the consequences of disobedience.
"...Now go, and do not let me down."
"Yes, Sir." She bowed her head and left to the Great Hall, figuring that Her Professor would probably send her Partner along as well, since the hall was quite large. And Marilyn would be damned if she was going to let him down.

Scarlett's Atire

Scarlett was feeling a churning mixture of excitement and nervousness as she made her way to the auror meeting. It would be her first official patrolling assignment outside of class, and boy did those classes go quick. Despite her nerves, she was glad to be called to be of service for the ball, it meant experience, and that was the best thing an auror could have under their belt.

She walked in, her Professor in mid-explanation of the task for the night. She waited as he sent the two already there off "Professor Clement," she greeted him softly.

As Mari took the orders in her stride and confirmed them, slipping the ear piece in to place, Louis was glad that at least one of them would be following orders. Once she was gone, another turned up, Scarlett, the only other successful witch of the group. "Waters." Louis acknowledged the witch.

Taking out another earpiece, he passed it to the witch. "This is our means of communication tonight. As I've already told the others, you must only use this to communicate throughout the night, do not leave your assigned area, unless told." Louis told the witch, though he needn't have been so stern, this witch was just as competent as Caldwell. "You're in charge of the ballroom with Caldwell. I want you to keep an eye on the adjoining rooms if possible too." He added, just in case Shuter got any ideas.

"You're not to give orders to students, only create a defence should anything happen." Louis told her, making sure all of them knew that messing with the students was a no go. Mycroft had sorted that much, he only had to give the students time to get away. "Any problems, tell me through the ear piece. Do not start combat unless given the all clear. Unless they start firing spells first." He added, making sure it was clear that violence was not a necessity.

"You take orders from me, and work with Caldwell. The rest of the Aurors are yours to work with, but do not go against my orders. Clear?" Louis asked, raising an eyebrow slightly. "And if you let me down, be quite confident that I will be ridding all of you from your duties Monday." He added, waving the witch away. Fear was the best route to success, he'd found, and Merlin knew he would make sure the recruits found it until they learnt respect.

She nodded at every command Clement gave her. She wouldn't dare step out of line, she wanted to become a full-fleged auror, and she wanted it badly. There was no way she was going to act stupidly and get it all whisked away from her. She knew how easily it could happen, and there was no way in hell it was going to happen to her. She was glad when she heard that she'd be working with Mari that night, she was competent and reliable to work with.

"You take orders from me, and work with Mari. The rest of the Aurors are yours to work with, but do not go against my orders. Clear?"

"Yes sir, clear," she replied with all the confidence she could muster. She was waved away with the lingering warning, and that just disrupted her nerves even more. She nodded to indicate she understood and left for the ballroom, where she had been assigned, plugging in her ear piece.

David listened as he was given his orders "Well.." He said "At least Professor Holmes can look past blind distaste and see talent. I will do my best not to break his orders. sir" He did not bother to hide his distaste for Clement, as clement had only fooled the others with his pitiful acting.

He was kind of upset he could not see Shiva, or even interact with her, but he wanted toi prove.. no, to shove it in Clement's face, that he was a good auror, great in situations such as battle. He planned to follow Orders, but only those that were smart. He would not follow orders that lead to his death. If that got him kicked out of the aurors.. oh well. He would freelance. With that he headed to tne entrence and stood alone.

Spoiler:

Mycroft Holmes was a good man, a man that always thought logically before putting emotions into actions, but tonight he was nervous. It was one thing doing an attack based on stealth. He was good at that, he had done it right out of Hogwarts and recruited before he could even decide to do another option of careers. But today there was so much at stake, the children, the castle, the large scale failure. Flatting the fabric on his tailored suit, he walked towards the gardens.

He was grateful for Louis Clement to lead the attack. Clement had the experience on field that Mycroft did not, a decade longer than his record and had seen more than enough attacks to distinguish one that had a good chance of succeeding, than one that failed miserably. He had been reminded by Clement of a meeting before everyone would enter the ball, and he had requested to enter, simply to get the memo of who did what.

Right as he arrived, he saw Miss Caldwell and Miss Water already leaving. He nodded their way, glad to see that they had the main hall. It was only fair of course, they were passing their lessons with flying colors. What he wasn't expecting was the lip coming from the one person that he had already gotten complaints from.

"Well.." He said "At least Professor Holmes can look past blind distaste and see talent. I will do my best not to break his orders. sir"

That was what he wasn't expecting. Walking into the light, he stared at the boy in front of him, not even bothering to greet him. Instead he stared at him wondering what the hell had gotten in his mind. There was a basic rule when it came to being an auror, and that was ranks. You had to work your way up, not think that you were the best damn thing to happen to the program.

"Ah, Mr. Shuter, how am I not surprised that you still have lip when you were given a second chance. Here's a news flash Mr. Shuter, you have all of this confused. I never once said I saw talent, I simply believed that you would learn from your previous error to surpass yourself. You failed a class by painting can't say I've had that happen before. If you ever want to become an auror, here's your first lesson: ranks matter." he drawled, no emotion on his face, "This is bigger than your ego trip and your vendetta against Clement, who by the way has more experience on the field than you do walking. News flash Mr. Shuter, you are at the very bottom of the food chain. So if you can't shut your trap and follow very simply instructions, you may leave."

Looking over to Clement he patted him on his back and smirked.

"The evening is young isn't it?" he drawled to the man. "Once you're done, we can discuss the future of many of these students no? I'll see you inside"

Aaron knew he was running late but he needed to get to the meeting now. When he arrived in the gardens he came across his school mates and Professor. "I apologize for being late" Aaron said sincerely. He stood with the others and listened to Clement speak about what was going down. Aaron just hoped that things turned out better for them then before when they actually lost people because of the hecticness. Aaron smoothed down his suit jacket and made sure he knew what was going down that night.

David stopped as he heard Mycroft speak. He still did not know why everyone but Scarlett had failed that class. They were all doing as told, and to be fair, the only thing David did wrong was answer questions when no one else would. He bit back his retort and nodded simply saying "of course sir." He turned back to Clement and bowed his head "My apologies Mr Clement, it will not happen again" He then turned and left. Biting back any profanity he could come up with.

David knew life wasn't fair, he knew from an early age, yet he figured the aurors were like a brotherhood, where petty things like 'food chains' were blurred. Apparently going through more than half the people your age had held no weight. He half wanted to speak his mind and leave.. but there was no such thing as freedom of speech in the aurors, so he simply stood at the door way, a watchful eye on the grounds, ready for bad wizards which he knew were not going to show up. If they DID, David was prepared to do whatever it took to protect the children.. if that meant disobeying orders.. so be it. Human life was not worth a job which David could easily do on his own.. pay was just a nice added bonus.

With one student moving away with an air of importance in her stride, Louis was not in the slightest bit surprised that Shuter couldn't take basic instructions. After this, Louis was most definitely going to have to have a meeting with Mycroft to discuss the boy's future. Rude once had the ability to be a mistake. Twice... Louis was not going to tolerate.

But, the egotistical macho man got his comeuppance after a very sharp tongue lashing from Mycroft.

Louis could only smirk as the Head Auror told the boy that he was worthless. How Mycroft emphasised his own beliefs only showed that Louis had not been biased throughout the whole lesson in which he'd been subjected to idiocy.

"My apologies Mr Clement, it will not happen again"

It would though, and Louis was very much looking forward to the time when he could kick the boy off the course. He was walking a fine line, and the boy should be quite aware of it, quickly if he wanted to stay in the squad. To find the luxuries of working in such an elite group of people.

"The evening is young isn't it?" he drawled to the man. "Once you're done, we can discuss the future of many of these students no? I'll see you inside"

"It is indeed." Louis replied with a small smile. "I'll cover the grounds." Louis told the man. "For a while. I'll put someone else out here when I have the chance." He added, not intending on staying outside the whole night. "I think we'll have much and more to discuss." Louis added, his eyes drifting to the back of the Shuter child. "Au revoir." Louis added to the man as he walked off.

"I apologize for being late"

"Non." Louis replied, forgetting to switch back from French. "You're not sorry, you will not do it again." He told the boy. First painting now lateness. Just another one that simply couldn't follow orders. "You'll be taking the gardens, Rosier." Louis told the boy, producing yet another ear piece and holding it out to the boy. "Contact only when needed, do not leave your post until I tell you." With the instructions given, Louis waved the boy away to get to his patrols.

Kaleb hadn't been there at Salem since he graduated and now being there for this was something that he had to admit to. This was his old school and Kaleb would protect with his life no matter what. Kaleb arrived at the ball and made a b-line towards the gardens, the instructions were pretty clear and he had to meet the rest of the Aurors there. The old Belladonna arrived at the gardens and instantly saw his fellow Aurors. He knew this was business and he joined the rest of his Aurors.

The final person to arrive to the meeting spot was Chase. It seemed that the boy also couldn't do arriving on time, or manners. As much as Louis disliked sorry, seeing it as a weakness, it at least showed respect. Yet another mark against the boy's name.

"Chase, take the balconies." Louis replied, feeling the strain of a headache reaching his temples as he handed the boy an earpiece. "Please do not think you're in charge of anyone, you will follow orders, and merely hold a defence for students to get out. Do not go for heroics, that's not what this is for.

"Do not let me down, either, or you'll be out of the course quicker than you can Quidditch." Louis told the boy, waving him off to get in to position.
