Unexpected (Tristan L.)

Ryan wasn't really used to being around so many people, well he was now ever since he started Hogwarts but he barely had any friends because he was too busy not trusting people. Yes he would talk to them if he had an assignment he couldn't do by himself but that was as far as it went. Ryan decided he was going to take a walk out in the Forbidden Forest and try and clear his head before heading back before curfew. While roaming around he heard a noise and looked. "Hello" he called out to whoever it was.

Tristan was on a hunt. She loved running around in her wolf mode before curfew. What she wasn't used to.was other people interrupting her hunting session. She saw a boy, about 5th year, gryffindor. She growled soft and low, warning himtoleave. But then she saw his face. Her heart began to beat like a humming birds wings and her gold eyes sparkled. She transformed into her human form, fully clothes thankfully a d stood before him. "Who are you? Why are you out here?"

Ryan was a little shocked when he saw a werewolf, he was about to run but then he watched as it transformed into a girl. She was absolutely gorgeous in his eyes and he recognized her as a fifth year Slytherin. He had seen her around when he was trying to hide from the world. She asked his name and he found it hard to speak but then he finally found his voice. "Ryan Lassiter and I am out here to get away from the party my fellow Gryffindor's are throwing" Ryan answered.

"Who are you?"

"And explain to me, Little cub'" she said as he circled him. Sniffing him to make sure he was no threat, "just why would you try to.escape a party. Aren't parties supposed to be fun?" She stopped in front of him to where there noses were practically touching. Her eyes flickered from brown to gold. "Tristan Lycanthe. princess of the lycanthes and heir to the lycanthe throne, if you must know. 5th year. Slytherin."

When she circled around him and sniffed him, he was a little shocked that she was actually doing this, when she asked what he was doing leaving a party because apparently parties were supposed to be fun. He shrugged. "I'm not really a party type of guy to be honest" he answered. The girl stopped in front of him so they were nose to nose, he was stunned and when she explained who she was, he was shocked. "Wow, wasn't expecting that" he replied honestly.

"Most people aren't." She scoffed and rolled her eyes. She did not want to be harsh with this one as she was with all the others. But she had no choice. She had to protect herself and her pack. Outsiders could not be trusted. But something about this one was different. Her heart told her so. "I have very strong feelings for you, Ryan. I just don't know if they're good or bad yet." She said with a soft smile.

Ryan was taken back by her tone and he recognized the tone and knew that she didn't trust many people like him, he wasn't one to just open up when first meeting someone, he never really ever opened up. "I didn't mean it like that" he mumbled. When he heard Tristan say how she had strong feelings for him but she didn't know if they were good or bad yet, he didn't know what to say. "I feel the same in a way which has never happened before" for some reason he didn't want to shut her out.

"My mother would kill.me if she knew I was even talking to you." She stepped closer to.him. she could smell his scent. Trees, chocoloate and honey. She familiarized herself with the scent so.she could identify it a mile away. "But life is about risks." She looked intohis eyes with her gold ones. "Any risks you wish to take, Ryan?"

Ryan was confused on why Tristan's mother would kill her, was she not supposed to talk to non wolves or something? "Why would your mother kill you if she knew you were talking to me?" Ryan asked, curiousity getting the better of him. She stepped closer to him and breathed in his scent. "Do I smell nice?" He teased. 'Where did that come from?' He asked himself. Her eyes flashed gold and he had to admit she was even more gorgeous if that was possible. "Maybe" was his reply.

"I'm not supposed to show interest to people outside the pack. Unless they are my mate." She blushed at the word mate. "Yes you do. Trees, chocolate and honey.an intoxicating combination, love." She blushed again at the word love. "Go ahead and take the risk." She bit her lip nervously.

Ryan now understood what she meant, he had heard how werewolves all get one mate in a lifetime and she must have hers. "Oh yeah, I remember reading that about wolves, they get one mate a lifetime" Ryan now gets what she meant. When she told him what he smelled like, he grinned and nodded. "Damn that nose of yours is good" he replied. "Which risk are we talking about here?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah. I can only choose one person to spend the rest of my life. My mate is the only person I can ever be with." She giggled when he said she had a good nose,"why, thank you. I am quite proud of it." She rolled her eyes and shook her head, "just kissme,Ryan."

Ryan had heard that, a wolf was only meant to be with their mate and their mate only. It must have been annoying because a wolf had no idea who their mate was until they met them, but then again Ryan wasn't a wolf so this was all making his head explode with questions. "It must suck not knowing who your mate is" Ryan meant that to her, he knew that if he was a wolf he would be trying to find his mate. He couldn't help but chuckle at her.

"I'd be proud to" Ryan replied. When Tristan said to kiss her, he was a little stunned at that, he wasn't expecting that to happen but Ryan couldn't find it in him to deny her, he felt drawn to her for some reason. Ryan lowered his lips onto hers and kissed her lightly.

Tristan smiled as ryan lowered his lips to hersand kissed her. She couldn't have i,magined a more perfect moment. She felt her head spin and saw fireworks. She knew then that he was the one. She pulled away and smiled, "its you... you're the one."

Ryan was enjoying the kiss way too much, he shouldn't because Tristan basically just said that she had a mate out there somewhere and didn't know who it was so any relationship was forbidden. When Tristan began speaking, Ryan grew confused. The one what? He didn't know what she was talking about, he didn't speak wolf.

"I beg your pardon?"

"Ryan, I.only getone matrmy entire life. I will know when I find them. I'll feel buterflies in my tummy and fireworks when we kiss. I felt that with you. You are my mate" shelooked him in the eye as she spoke. She knew it was him. He was.the only one for her.

Ryan was definitely shocked at this news, he didn't expect to be the mate of a werewolf when he woke up this morning. He had no idea what his parents would say when he told them this but he guessed it was an honor really, he never really fit in anywhere and now he guessed this was why, life had better plans for him. "Wow, well it looks like you're stuck with me" Ryan finally spoke after a few minutes of silence.

Tris smiled and kissed him, "I wouldn't have it any other way." She hugged him tight and smiled into his chest. "I finally found you... just in time to." She thought about the deadline her mother had given her. She sighed and shook her head. "My mate" she smiled up at him and kissed him again.

When she hugged him he could tell that it was so right. For the first time in years he could actually feel like he trusted this girl no matter how hard he didn't want to but something in his body was fighting him somehow. When she said just in time it got him confused. What did she mean by this? "What do you mean just in time?" Ryan decided to stop thinking to himself and just ask her questions. She was more experienced with these questions. When she kissed him he kissed her back.

"My mother gave me a deadline. Of my birthday. I had to find my mate before my birthday. Or I would not become queen when I turn 18. My birthday is tomorrow." She looked down and it her lip nervously. But when she looked back up into his eyes, all the fear and worry of lifemelted away. All that she was left with was herlove for him.

Ryan felt really sorry for Tristan when she said how if she didn't find her mate by the next day that she wouldn't inherit her crown. "Well its a good thing you did, it looks like it was a sign saying that you would get your crown. Make sure you tell your mother about this moment so she knows you will in fact have your crown after all. So I'm guessing I know have to get you a gift, what would you like?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah, I guess so." Tristan smiled and gave his hand a gentle squeeze, "I will write to mother as soon as I get to my room." She laughed when he mentioned a gift, "Baby you already got me the best gift anyone could get me. You. I dont need anyhing but you. But, if you insist.... I like chocolate frogs and sugar quills."

Ryan knew that this relationship was 100% and he knew that when he wrote his owls to his family he'd have to tell them of this because they deserved to know. "I bet you'll get a happy owl in the mail the moment you send her the news" Ryan couldn't imagine growing up in a werewolf family being one genetically but Tristan is used to it most likely. When she began to say how she didn't need anything but him but then said that if he insisted he could get her two things. Ryan let a small grin appear on his face, it was barely noticeable. "I'll see what I can do."

"Im sure I wil. Im also sure she will want to meet you. Mates must be approved by the Queen, mommy dearest, and the rest of the pack. Especially my mate. Seeing as you will one day rule the pack along side me. If you choose to accept the part as my mate." She looked up with watery eyes, fear filled her at the thouht of him rejecting her as a mate.

Ryan was never good with talking with new people, when he met Tristan and saw how easy it was too talk to her he was shocked until he found out the reason behind it. It made sense because he was never used to making friends but somehow he managed to come out with a future girlfriend. "If t-that's w-w-what you want, t-then okay" Ryan stuttered his agreement.
