| Kira was standing on the patch of grass, smiling with her face turned to the rare sun ray. Nature was beginning to wake up and it was beautiful to watch. If Kira hadn't been so busy with planning lessons and taking care of grounds for two schools, she'd spend her days just watching plants grow and enjoying the sunshine. It was getting warmer too, at Salem more significantly than Hogwarts, but it was pleasant everywhere.
The only damper on spring was the kidnapping of students and when Kira wasn't worrying about the creatures on the grounds, she was worrying about Diem and when she was at Salem, she kept checking up on her daughter. She felt incredibly sorry for the kids that were kidnapped and for their parents and friends and all in all, it was a horrible thing.
There were large turtle-like creatures with bejeweled shells walking slowly around Kira as she waited for her students and enjoyed the sun. The fire crabs were particularly happy this morning and the Professor took that as a very good thing.

| Kedzie never really attended Care of Magical Creatures until now. There were a lot of people around school who absolutely love this class and she has heard them bragging from time to time. The little Ravenclaw walks to the class and smiles brightly at the Professor. "Morning Professor" Kedzie always was a polite girl and this was no difference. | |

| Natasha always enjoyed CoMC because, in her opinion, it was a fairly laid-back and relaxed subject. There was of course, work she had to complete, but with the right books, it wasn't extremely challenging at all. She walked out to the area it was held, the sun warming her skin as she arrived to the class "Morning Professor," she said "What are those?" her eyes fell on the creatures with bejewelled shells. | |

| "Morning, Miss Loraine, Miss Stonem. Ah, I was hoping you could tell me that. No matter, they're Fire Crabs." Kira greeted the girls, smiling. "Can either of you tell me anything about them? But give the other a chance to earn points, as well, please." She smiled fondly at the bejeweled turtles at her feet. | |

| Violet was running late, though that hardly phased her. She walked at a slightly quicker pace than usual towards the area where CoMC was usually held, and arrived when the teacher was asking if anyone could tell them about fire crabs. "Apparently they're pests," she said casually as she dropped her bag "And when feeling threatened, spew flames at you from their rear," she answered. | |

| "Apparently they're pests," she said casually as she dropped her bag "And when feeling threatened, spew flames at you from their rear,"
"No, no, Miss Lynch, they're not pests!" Kira turned wide-eyed to the latecomer. Pests? "They can be pets, though, if you get a special license. You're correct in the second answer, though, so take five points."
"As you can see, their shells are very valuable, so as you might have guessed, a lot of people want to get them. They have a defence mechanism, though, like Miss Lynch pointed out, and shoot fire out of their backsides if they feel threatened. However, they can harm themselves while doing that."
She gently picked one of the Fire Crabs up and turned it upside down for the students to see the burnt part of the animal. It looked quite gross, to be honest, but Kira wasn't phased, as she's seen a lot worse in her training. "Luckily we have a paste that makes the burn better." The Professors bent down to take one bottle of the paste in her hands and then applied it gently on the damaged skin.
"If you could please each take one of the Crabs and do the same."

| (OOC: My bad, I misread as 'pests' on the webpage)
"No, no, Miss Lynch, they're not pests!...They can be pets, though, if you get a special license. You're correct in the second answer, though, so take five points."
She gave a little, apathetic shrug. Though, she had to admit, owning a Fire Crab could be a good pet. Valuable, and a good defence mechanism, just what Violet needed. As the Professor showed them the burnt part of the fire crab, Violet wasn't phased. She was never easily grossed out by anything. She listened to the instruction to pick up the Fire Crab, and didn't hesitate a bit before she walked over to one, front on, slowly and carefully grabbing the edges of the shell and picking it up. She inspected the jewels on the shell as she walked over to get the paste for the healing. She flipped it over to look at the burnt skin, a little too quickly, and fire spurt from it's backside, thankfully away from her. She jumped a little bit, but didn't drop it, instead setting it down, upside down and waiting for it to stop, before applying the paste.

| Kira watched as Violet correctly and carefuly took care of the Fire Crab and nodded along. It really was nice to see students participating in the right manner. She winced a bit when the Crab shot fire, but thankfully the flame didn't harm the Hufflepuff. All was well.
After some time, Kira clapped her hands together, announcing the end of the lesson. "Right, there's only a few minutes left, just enough time for you to get back to the castle for your next lesson. Good luck with your exams and have a lovely summer!"
