Full Name: Violet Lynch

Birthdate: 7th August

Country of Origin: England

Current Home: Hogwarts, or London in the holidays

General appearance: Light brown hair, fair skin and hazel eyes

Special Features: (birthmarks, scars, tattoos, piercings, etc) None

Blood purity: Muggleborn

Personality: Violet is an individual, quiet, and loves her music. She tries to get by on the bare-minimum of work. She keeps to herself, but stands up for herself, not so much for others though. She tends to rebel and push the boundaries, just to see how much she can get away with. She loves a good scare and loves to be an individual. She also tends to get involved with a few bad habits. She is sneaky and will do anything to get her own way.

Background: There isn't much to say about her history, except that she received her Hogwarts letter at 11, and is a muggleborn, so magic is all new to her. Her parents split up a couple of years before when she was younger. She used to attend muggle school, though had no friends there because she was so different to others.

Family:iMother: Name: Sam Lynch (Nee Green)/ Age: 39 / Living or dead: Living / Blood status or species: Muggle

Father: Name: Ben Lynch / Age: 43/ Living or dead:Living / Blood status or species: Muggle

Family Background: One or two short paragraphs. Her family was always dysfunctional and her parents always fought. She was actually relieved when they split because she couldn't take the fighting for much longer. In her eyes, the split was good in relieving the tension. Plus she got to see her dad a whole lot more than she did when her parents were together.

Her mother and her live in a flat in London, thought she still got to visit her dad on the weekends until she started attending Hogwarts, which now means that she now only gets to see the both of them in the holidays. Basically, her family is separated quite a bit, but she likes the distance.

Violet had never been the over-emotional type, even as a little girl. When the other girls cried when they scraped their knee, or when a boy tugged on their hair, Violet revelled in the fact that scraping a knee indicated one had the strength not to cry, or when those bratty boys pulled on her hair at pre-school, she was the one to chase after them, pushing their faces in the mud for revenge. No one was ever allowed to get away with mistreating her. She never went crying to her mummy or daddy, she always took matters into her own hands.

It couldn't be said that her parents were neglectful, merely dysfunctional. They always argued about the tiniest of things, Violet often wondered why they ever decided to actually get married. Clearly, they were never suitable for each other, even in her earliest memories their relationship had been filled with hate and annoyance for one another. Relief for her came when her parents decided to divorce. Her mother and father were both happier living apart. It had been a major advantage to Violet, with both parents fighting over her affection, she was spoilt rotten and could get anything she wanted by faking some tears about how either her mother or father, depending on who she was asking, had been 'completely mean' to her and made her cry. That generally got her whatever she wanted, no matter how expensive. And when she got sick of her mother and father, she went wandering around the streets, telling her parents she was going to be at the others house (both had no intention of ever communicating with each other unless absolutely necessary, perfect for Violet's ease of manipulation).

She supposed that others in her position might have been sad for their parents, but she didn't understand the logic in that. She was happy that both fought so fiercely over her attention and affection.

But even before her parent's horrible divorce, before they had started competing for her love, she had never been one to ever get emotional or hurt over the trivial things that were the norm for other children to cry about. Violet had always been resilient, never had her tears been real, never had she ever felt bad for someone, or let someone walk over her. She was always strong.

The day Violet realised she had the gift of speaking to snakes was also the day she discovered her magical ability. That was a very significant day indeed, because it proved what she already knew, that she was better than any of the kids she knew. She was eight years old, and was at some kids birthday party (she didn't care to remember his name, all she remembered was that awful party at the park and her mother constantly reiterating the importance of making friends, and that sort of garbage. So, with a sigh, she had walked over to the table with all the other children, reluctantly handed over the boy's present, which her mother had chosen, not her, and decidedly sat at the end of the table whilst the other children ate enthusiastically and chattered away in a manner that gave Violet a headache.

Honestly these kids were too dumb and too loud for their own good. After eating, they all ran off to play on the equipment, like regular little children did. The boy's parents coaxing her to join them when she stayed seated at the table with her arms crossed. Eventually, to stop that damned woman from nagging her, she got up from the table and walked away from her, silently and over to a swing set, near some bushes that was occupied by the birthday boy and his best friend.

"Move," she demanded.

"We were here first," the birthday boy had replied.

"I don't care, move,"

"Make us," he friend had said.

There had been a rustle of the bushed behind the swings that Violet vaguely saw from the corner of her eye. Anger and frustration was bubbling inside the witch. She hadn't wanted to be there in the first place, and now those brats of boys weren't giving her her turn on the swing set. Abruptly, the birthday boy's swing hitched upward, followed closely by his friends, and began to swing far higher than any of them could reach, jerking them backwards and forewords in an explosion of violet movement. The boys were flung off their swings backwards into the bushes.

There was more rustling of the bushes at the disturbance the boys had caused and out slithered a snake. It was a tiny snake with strange black zig zags down its length (an Adder snake, Violet knew), and it slithered out towards where Violet was standing at the swing set. And she didn't know what exactly clicked in her, something did, and she said in a strong, firm voice "Stop." Though to the others, all that she had hissed at it. The snake halted and she looked rather surprised that it had, an expression rarely seen on the young girls face. An idea quickly popped into the girls head, and a small smirk touched her lips. She made more of the hissing noises and the snake distinctly nodded and slithered quickly to the boys, curling around the birthday boy's ankle. In response, he squirmed in fear, trying to get the snake away from him.

"MUMMY!" he yelled, and his mother, from the table, perked up, almost like a dog that had heard the howl of another, and rushed over to see what was wrong with her special little boy.

"Bite," Violet ordered the snake, and it did so, sinking its fangs deep into the boy's ankle, the venom running into the would deeply. His mother was there just in time to see the snake, before it slithered away, deep into the bushes, and was already shouting for someone else to call an ambulance for a snake bite.

That boy had always gotten on Violet's nerves anyway.

From then on, at school, the boy avoided her, truly terrified of her. But she didn't care at all, because that meant she'd never be invited to one of his stupid birthday parties again.

That day, Violet had realised her gifts, and she wholeheartedly embraced them as much as possible. Her parents hadn't allowed a snake in either of their houses, but that didn't hinder her from actively seeking them out, and speaking to them for entertainment. She practised her magic as much as possible also, concentrating on focussing to shift objects, move them around. And of course she practised on the kids at school, that was the best part of it all.
